Emulators will have to re-pointed to manually in LB but rom paths can be changed using the "Change ROMs folder path" tool in the Tools menu, though this really only works if all the roms are in a single folder. If you have games in their own folder such as CD based games or SNES MSU1 stuff then you will want to use Notepad++ and its "find and replace all" tool to edit the platforms xml file.

1. Bin + Cue is the most compatible and should work with all emulators, atleast all the popular ones. PBP and CHD are compressed so they take up less space but not all emulators support them. CHDs can be converted to a Bin + Cue, not sure about PBP though. SBI I know nothing about, never seen that format before. 2. Like Bin + Cue, gdi are most compatible are the format the best quality rips are in. CHD is the same as they are for PS1, not all emulators support it, is smaller file size and can be converted if needed.

Yeah i'm gonna bet those accents are messing with it. You will need to change your rom and emulator locations in Launchbox after to rename without accents. -

Ok thanks. Just out of curiosity what is the full paths of your emulator and rom folders ? For example mine are: D:\Emulation\Emulators D:\Emulation\Roms I'm just wondering if maybe you have some folders with accents in their names, that has been known to cause issues in the past. -

This stuff does not have to be entered anymore, this is the old way of doing things and is no longer applicable. -
This is nothing new, the ram usage can vary quite a lot but 1 gig is not something that is out of the ordinary since it caches all of the images and playlist information. Ram nowadays is cheap, most systems have at minimum 8 gigs of ram and 16 is quickly becoming the norm while 32 gigs is not unheard of so 1 gig in the grand scheme of things is very little. Web browsers with a few tabs open will quickly eat up the same amount of ram depending on the sites you have open.

Questions About Windows 10 For LaunchBox Performance
Lordmonkus replied to bvcbcvbcvbcvbvcbvcbcv's topic in Noobs
I don't use anything to do that, the only drivers I keep up to date is my video card ones and Nvidias software tells me where there's an update available. In my experience unless you are experiencing an issue drivers don't do much of anything. -

I don't use anything beyond CCleaner for an occasional registry cleaning. I just don't install garbage so there is very little to ever clean out. -

The Advance System Care stuff was Brads suggestion, I don't use that stuff. I can't do anything about the pay walled features of Anti Beacon, I use the 3.0 release without a license. -

Well the Black Viper guide tells you what is safe to disable and what isn't, if you aren't sure of something don't disable it. -

There is nothing more I could add that guide doesn't cover. There are just way too many different hardware combinations for me to write a "hard" guide on. Keep your hardware drivers up to date and disable the services you don't need and only the end user can determine which ones those would be using blackvipers guide. -
This would be better for the pause screen function once that is added, the loading screen goes too quickly to really read it on my system.

That is Mame itself, as in the emulator, not roms.
-
Launchbox does not come with any Mame roms, if you got your LB from somewhere else and it came with roms it is illegal.

It's generally not good practice to install beta versions of software before checking out any information on it. It's to be fully theme-able from what I understand based on what Jason has said about it so far.

Maybe the post 2 above yours by @Sithel will provide a solution. I can't say for certain one way or the other on whether it will work or not, I don't have a Servostik nor do I use RocketLauncher. This should be doable though using the additional apps or maybe even the built in AHK script functionality in LB.

Split, Merged or Non Merged are all fine but if importing a full set into LB Split or Merged is recommended. Using Non Merged will work perfectly fine but it is a waste of drive space, Non Merged sets are for pulling out a hand picked smaller selection of games.

Here's a couple of comparison screenshots from MegaMan X4 on the Saturn:I have noticed though that it is not perfect because when the character is behind the light it becomes slightly distorted, I assume this is because of the mdapt shader effect. Here is a screenshot from the PS1 version of the game using the regular Kurozumi shader preset in comparison.
-
Here's the preset file, drop it in RetroArch\shaders\shaders_slang\presets mdapt-royale-kurozumi.slangp

So I was poking around in the Slang shaders and noticed a new variant of Kurozumis Royale shader, one that had mdapt in it's name. Mdapt is generally a shader pass that makes dither transparency act more like it would on a CRT instead of the "checkerboard" effect you get on modern displays. For those of you that aren't aware of the Kurozumi shader, it is an edit of the Royale shader which makes it look extremely close to a high quality PVM so it has thick scanlines. Here are a couple of screenshots to show the difference, view them full size to see the effect better. First is the regular Kurozumi shader preset, notice the lighting and how it has the "checkerboard" effect. Next is the mdapt version of Kurozumi, notice how it "appears" more transparent, this is more inline with how it would have looked on a CRT using RF or composite connection. If you are interested in trying this shader out you will need to be using one of the video drivers that support Slang shaders. Vulkan, DX11 and DX12 all support them I believe, I have been using Vulkan. You can find the preset under the \shaders_slang\presets folder. I did not see this modified version in the GL or CG shader folders though it is possible I just missed it.
