  1. Added the Retroarch Mame core arguments guide for console systems. This guide makes it much easier to setup RA with the Mame core for non arcade systems and games than previously.
  2. Ah ok, change the retroarch-core-options.cfg first then.
  3. Dude, this is pretty awesome if you would like to make this it's own guide that would be great and then I would put it in the Guides and Tutorials thread. One thing I would like to add to this, when I was following these instructions the ini folder in \Retroarch\system\mame\ did not get auto created. What I did though was I copied the mame.ini file from my stand alone Mame install and created the ini folder and dropped the ini file in there and edited it accordingly.
  4. If some games are working and some aren't and you are 100% positive that the rom files are fine then you have some games assigned to a different emulator.
  5. Then maybe certain games got changed to a different emulator somehow that you don't have setup or does not work with those specific games.
  6. If some games for a platform works fine but others from the same platform do not work then that means that certain game files are bad.
  7. Are your games set to use a different emulator ?
  8. Are you possibly launching multiple instances of the game by any chance ? And then when you close the game you are closing one instance but the other is still running in the background which you can hear and sort of stealing focus from BigBox.
  9. Do your games work in Retroarch on its own outside of Launchbox ?
  10. Oh you were talking about the Retroarch version ? I thought you meant the stand alone version.
  11. You can change the internal resolution in the core settings of the quick menu for the Mupen core, Parallel doesn't allow this though.
  12. Basic mode or advanced mode wont make any difference in resource usage, it would just hide or show different options. Unless you make a completely separate version of the software with different functions removed from the software.
  13. So in other words you want a 2nd version of Launchbox that Jason would split his time in developing ?
  14. You can try digging around this thread for some ideas:
  15. You can probably use an AHK script to send Alt + Enter x2 after the game launches.
  16. Like I said, I have a crappy old HTPC with 2 gigs of ram (does have a dedicated GPU though) and the ram usage is not a problem. Specs of HTPC: Windows 7 AMD Athlon 3800+ @ 2.4 GHz 2 gigs ram Radeon 7850 (1 gig DDR5 vram) Some generic 160 gig hard drive 2500+ games There is nothing wrong with being mindful of performance and system resource usage but at the same time you cannot cater to everyone. People want more and more features and you cannot do that without increasing the system requirements. Having said that I have not seen an increase in system resource usage and performance itself has gotten better.
  17. Mednafen is a command line emulator unless you get one of the 3rd party GUIs for it. All settings are stored in the mednafen.cfg file which can be rather unwieldy but it is broken up sections that make sense. All the general settings are at the top and each system is broken up by a 2 letter prefix. They do have great documentation though on what everything is, this can be found in the Documenation folder of your Mendafen install folder or their website here: https://mednafen.github.io/documentation/
  18. This isn't necessary unless you want to save drive space. The few NeoGeo CD games I have run perfectly fine and they are cue + bin format.
  19. I have never seen ram usage this low in Launchbox going back to version 5.1 or whatever version was out when I first started using it. It has always used at minimum several hundred megs or more. This has always been the usual ram usage or even more.
  20. Select all the games in a platform and then edit (Control + E), this brings up the bulk edit tool. Pick emulator from the drop down menu and then choose Retroarch from your emulators list.
  21. Are you using the Mame core ? Because it doesn't use that, it has its own core. If you are having problems with the method I described you can use the batch file method and just import the batch file as a stand alone executable game file with no emulator associated with it. cannonball.bat
