Maybe it's caching your images that's using so much CPU.

Weird, LB did not preconfigure that box to be checked when I added it but anyways, glad it solved the issue for you.

I just tried that rom hack with my setup and it loads up fullscreen and runs fine. I think I see your problem though, in your first screenshot you have the "Use file name only" box checked, try unchecking that and see what happens.

Run as Admin - what problems does it cause?

File icon and associated program in Windows doesn't matter. If the file is one that the software you want to load it with is one that can recognize and use it will use it and load it if you tell it to, either through the UI, dragging the file onto the exe or using the command line via LB.

I just downloaded ZSnes from here: http://zsnes.com/ And loading a game straight up works perfectly fine for me with no command line parameters at all.
-
Added it to the update that I will be doing for 200.
-
You will be hard pressed to find anyone around here that uses Zsnes so your best bet would be to check the documentation and see what you can do. http://zsnes-docs.sourceforge.net/html/advanced.htm#command_line

It mimics the N64s "anti aliasing" filter that it really had. Give the stand alone Mupen64plus that I inked above a try, it doesn't require any tinkering at all and pretty much works with everything out of the box.

A few problems on emulating Atari Lynx With Mednafen.

I don't think so but I also don't know since it's not something I ever tried to do or even look into. -

The actual path of my 5200 games is this: H:\Emulation\Roms\Atari 5200 Here is my Associated Platforms window for my Retroarch Mame Consoles emulator in Launchbox. Here is my paths that I set in the ini files for each system I use it for. For simplicity and organizational reasons I put my bios files in this folder: H:\Emulation\Emulators\Retroarch\system\mame\roms

Works perfectly fine for me without the double quotes.

Hmm, maybe its if you use the Angrylion plugin with the Parallel core. I just gave that a try and while you can change the resolution numbers in the core options for it it doesn't actually change the resolution. As for which is best that is a bit of a trade off right now. Parallel with the Angrylion plugin is the most accurate way to emulate the N64 but with the resolution limitation and performance hit. The Mupen64 core is very good and runs faster but some games do have some issues. The stand alone Mupen64plus (https://m64p.github.io/) is extremely good out of the box with no configuration needed. It runs great, plays more games than the Mupen64 core but not as accurate as the Parallel core with the Angrylion plugin. Now of course take everything I just said with a grain of salt since I do not test these emulators or keep up to date on the changes with these 3 emulators on a regular basis. My information could be outdated and incorrect.

Just some tips that I found helpful when setting this up for myself. Make sure you have a set of mame compatible bios for the systems you want to use this for and put them all into a single folder. I found it convenient in my setup to just put all the bios files in: \Retroarch\system\mame\roms If you have troubles getting Retroarch to generate a system ini file you can simply copy over your mame.ini file from a stand alone install of Mame. Once you get your paths all set in that you can just make copies and rename them accordingly using the list here https://pastebin.com/18W3EbD0 With all this setup you don'e need the -rp and path to roms in the command line, all you need is the short version: "a5200 -cart \"%romfile%\" You can get the information for each system using the link above.

lol, it's all good, we've seen something similar many times before

I meant in your file manager like this but I can see that you do have the Nestopia, Mupen64 and Genesis GX cores downloaded. At first I was thinking maybe because your emulator path was in a sub folder of your Launchbox install folder was causing the issue but I checked my HTPC install which is set up that way and it detected all my cores just fine.
-
Can you post a screen shot of your cores folder ?

No, I am reading but I am trying to make sense of what you are saying. I have tried to determine if it was just some games in a platform or all the games in a platform. I am also trying to narrow down the problem beyond "games don't work" because "games don't work" tells me nothing in trying to help troubleshoot This tells me you don't have an emulator associated with those games. If things worked and then just stopped working it is most likely either your roms changed location or your emulator changed location. It is possible that you have run into an extremely rare bug but it would be an extremely rare case because I have never seen anyone have this issue that you are describing it without being a case of user error. Also I have never had games just stop working (outside of my own user error) and I have been using Launchbox since version 5.

I have pushed Jason on this in private since day 1 of LB Next so hopefully he will make this change. If he doesn't then we can change it when Jason lets us theme it which will be happening.
-
If they work in Retroarch on its own then they will work in Launchbox unless you have something messed up.
-
Ok. are your games working in Retroarch on its own outside of Launchbox or no ? If they don't work then you need to get that sorted first.

The Associated Platforms tab of the Edit Emulator window in your first screenshot.

Can you post a screen cap of the associated platforms tab ?
