  1. Support for other rom set versions has been discussed but nothing has been decided upon as of this point in time.
  2. My guess is it prioritized by region and you set it to US, Pang is the Japanese version if I remember correctly.
  3. LB won't be loading up "more processes". By that argument maybe some people are using 10 year old mechanical drives on the verge of failure. All drives even mechanical can have catastrophic failures. Moving parts are just as prone (or more so) than non moving parts. I don't know what's out there currently, I have no reason to look since Launchbox runs fine on all 3 of my systems including a 15+ year old toaster.
  4. This is currently not a problem and likely to not be one either. And no one is right now. Launchbox has never been the "lightweight" frontend, if you need something more lightweight there are other options out there. This is just untrue unless you are using an early gen SSD. The current gen SSDs have just as much "useage" in them as mechanical drives. Launchbox has always gone this direction, adding new features. You can always disable updates if you wish to not receive them.
  5. It pulls it from mame.xml file in your \Launchbox\Metadata which Jason updates every month after the new releases. He gets its straight from the source. So it is best to only use the Full Set Importer with the latest sets. As for Pang, is it being imported as Buster Bros which is the other name of the game ?
  6. The easiest way is to just use a playlist for them. You can either use an auto playlist and use Cave for the developer and publisher, this should get all or at least most of them from the Mame set. Or you can make one manually which wouldn't take much time at all. Here's a list of their games: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cave_(company)#Games_developed
  7. If you would like to see a feature added please post it using the Request a Feature link under the Help & Support tab at the top of the website. This forum section is for beta testing, not feature requests.
  8. Turn on exclusive fullscreen mode, it auto loads into fullscreen though you have to see a resolution and it stretches the video instead of keeping the 4:3 aspect.
  9. Admittedly I havent updated CXBX Reloaded in a few months but works fine here without any scripts.
  10. All my "mame roms", arcade and non arcade system are outside of the Mame\roms folder and they all work fine as long as I tell Mame where they are with the rompaths.
  11. Yup, this is the state of DC emulation as it is right now. If you want the most coverage and technically "the best" then as @DOS76 said, Demul is the one to use. Redream is great and is very simple to setup (no bios required) but does cost 5$ to get the resolution scaling and still doesn't support WinCE games or anything outside of Dreamcast. (As far as I am aware of at the time of this post) The Flycast core in Retroarch is somewhere in between, it's free, relative easy to setup (you still need bios) and does have resolution scaling and WinCE support. It does support Naomi but none of the other stuff that Demul supports.
  12. Things can and do change, one such example would be NES emulation. For a long time the Nestopia and FCEUMM cores were the 2 best by far but then came along Mesen which completely blew those out of the water with accuracy and compatibility. Another example was Saturn emulation, SSF for the longest time was the best way to do it and then seemingly overnight Mednafen added Saturn support and then got a core for Retroarch and changed what would be the "best and most compatible" emulator for that system. Also it is often a matter of what is best for the end users system. Higan for example is a cycle accurate emulator but requires a fairly good CPU to drive it along with not so easy to find special chip dumps to get the full functionality and compatibility whereas the Snes9x core is almost as good and has much lower CPU requirements and no special chip dumps. While Snes9x is not cycle accurate it does emulate 99% of the games perfectly fine without any glitches.
  13. Such a list is a chore to make and maintain because things can change very often. We do have a thread for this already and in that thread I have my list but of course others may / do have their own personal preference.
  14. Jason went off the input of the users in the chat and at the end of it there were 38 green items that got a lot of positive response. This left 2 slots to move yellow items over to the final poll which we discussed as a group in the mods channel in Discord and felt that Parental Restrictions and Name Media to the File Name were the 2 most important features out the other "yellow" items. This is just how putting things to the community goes, the majority rules. I do feel your pain though, there have been times in the past polls where something I wanted to see added not get enough positive response from the community and even times when items I did want got added they ended up getting only a handful of votes. On the bright side though Jason does at times add in a feature that missed the poll if it's something that takes very little time. If that doesn't happen this time around it's a pretty good bet that the yellow items from the discussion will probably make it into the next poll when that happens.
  15. The poll is done, there wont be any new items added.
  16. There will be a stream tomorrow at 10am Pacific Time looking for input on poll items.
  17. I don't know then, working fine here on my setup.
  18. Do your games work in the emulator outside of Launchbox ?
  19. Are you using the command line parameter: --nogui --fullscreen --fullboot
  20. That sucks man. I never used your work or anything but it's always sad to see the people who contribute ripped off and drove out of the scene.
  21. There's an Attract Mode feature in BigBox, enable it in the options.
  22. The AimTrak ones are considered to be the best right now but they are just replicating a mouse and can go out of calibration easily if you shift your angle to the TV a little and need to be re-calibrated. Personally I would wait on the Sinden ones and see the reviews of them and then decide.
