Yeah I prefer the XBone controller over the 360 one after getting used to it. The d-pad is better but still not great, the d-pad on the 360 one is just awful. The analog sticks thumb pad size took a little getting used to since they feel a little smaller but now I am used to it and it doesn't matter.

Yes, just right click and edit the game you want to use a different core, go to the emulation tab and check the box for "Use Custom Command-Line Parameters" and use the following command line: -L "cores\name_of_core.dll" Replacing "name_of_core.dll" with the actual core you want to use with that game.An alternative is to setup a new emulator entry in LB to use alternate cores (you can use an existing install of an emulator as well) and then you can just choose that emulator instead of a custom command line parameter.

I found there is nothing that works best for all so I use 2 controllers. I use an XBone controller for systems that require analog stick controls and for non analog stick controller based systems I use the Hori Fight Commander with 6 face buttons and 4 shoulder buttons.

I honestly couldn't say, that is something I never heard of and just looked it up. I have no clue how it interacts with and what it does with BizHawk, maybe you could run it along side as an additional app or something.

I'm not in the mood to get into a useless debate here so here's a link for you and maybe it will help you, maybe it won't. -

1.25 gigs of ram usage is not much at all today. -
This is extremely strange, i'll leave the thread open in case you figure what exactly caused the issue or if it ever happens again.

SNK Neo Geo CD Using FBAlpha Core in Retroarch
Lordmonkus replied to 3x0x8's topic in Troubleshooting
No problems, I asked Hunterk on discord and he pointed me in the right direction with the --subsystem parameter and then a search on their forums got me the rest of the way with neocd.- 41 replies

SNK Neo Geo CD Using FBAlpha Core in Retroarch
Lordmonkus replied to 3x0x8's topic in Troubleshooting
Got it figured out. --subsystem neocd Put that in the extra command line section of the associated platforms window of your RA emulator in LB.- 41 replies

SNK Neo Geo CD Using FBAlpha Core in Retroarch
Lordmonkus replied to 3x0x8's topic in Troubleshooting
Ok, I just managed to get a game loading using the FBA and FBNeo core in Retroarch itself but I see how it has multiple systems now so I assume there is some sort of extra command line requirement. But again the lack of documentation of this feature is no helping here, I will look more into it though and see what I can find.- 41 replies

SNK Neo Geo CD Using FBAlpha Core in Retroarch
Lordmonkus replied to 3x0x8's topic in Troubleshooting
It's brand new, there was some drama with the recently announced Capcom arcade controller with games and using FBA as the emulator. It was "licensed" out by the maintainer of FBA without any permissions from any of the actual devs so the devs split off and now FBNeo is the new emulator going forward. I would assume it shouldn't, I would imagine it would work like any other CD based system but I cannot say for certain because like I said, I was never successful getting NeoGeo CD games to work with the FBA core but then that was before CD support was built in. This is unfortunately a lack of FBA and NeoGeo CD info on their documentation page over on the RA site.- 41 replies

SNK Neo Geo CD Using FBAlpha Core in Retroarch
Lordmonkus replied to 3x0x8's topic in Troubleshooting
I have never had any luck with NeoGeo CD and Retroarch using the FBA core, I use stand alone Mame for my NeoGeo CD emulation. And unfortunately I cannot test this on my end since I have my disk images converted to CHD which is not supported by the FBA core it seems. You say your games are working in RA on its own ? Everything I see in your screenshots looks correct. Are you actually using the FBAlpha core in RA or are you maybe using the new FBNeo core which is the replacement for FBA now ?- 41 replies

Emulator UI optimized for joystick/touchscreen use?
Lordmonkus replied to DaveC1964's topic in Emulation
That would require Jason to maintain 2 versions which would be a lot of extra work for little to no gain at all. -
If it doesn't at least load up out of the box then I have no clue what to tell you and you would be better off asking over on the Retroarch forums, it sounds like it might be some sort of video card driver issue.
-
Then you got something really weird going on, deleting the config files basically reset s RA back to defaults.
-
Delete your retroarch.cfg and all the folders in your Retroarch\Config folder if there are any, sounds like you have something really messed up.
-
In my experience black screens on loading in RA are caused by a shader being loaded that is incompatible with either the core itself because of driver (ie: slang shader with Mupen64 core which is GL only) or incompatible with the video driver itself. Try changing your video driver back to OpenGL, open the retroarch.cfg and do a search for: video_driver = set it to: video_driver = "gl"

You do your first scraping pass with what you don't to get unchecked, then you can go back and do a 2nd pass but this time uncheck all the stuff you got the first time and check the stuff you do want. Tools > Download Metadata and Media

Emulator UI optimized for joystick/touchscreen use?
Lordmonkus replied to DaveC1964's topic in Emulation
There is not as that would require some sort of DRM which Jason is against doing. However, if you do buy it and find it doesn't meet your needs you can ask for a refund and Jason will provide you with one.
