  1. You may but i wouldnt know how im afraid. Also you cannot directly edit any default themes, you would need to copy and rename it and edit the copy. We have to always have a working theme, so we dont allow editing, if you do Launchbox would just revert the changes when launched.
  2. Thats just how the default theme works, if you want a static background you might want to try the old default theme or a third party one. The default is coded to show the artwork of the currently selected game in the background. You have found a workaround to that it seems, but that now interferes with the other options like the startup as you have discovered.
  3. Toos/Options/background priorities, make sure fanart background is top of the list if that is the artwork style you want to use.
  4. This sounds like it is a issue on your end, those download times are unbelievably slow and not at all what other users myself included are seeing. In fact i spent most of last night setting up a completely fresh install of Launchbox on my Laptop, and speeds were just as good as always. Im not to savvy on troubleshooting actual network issues, but hopefully someone who is can chime in here with some theory's/solutions. The only thing i see different here is the 4G internet connection you have, you have to remember that Launchbox isnt downloading relatively large files, but thousands and thousands of very small files. This by itself takes longer as its a constant stop/start process with thousands of different calls to the websites. Also id check that your firewall or internet provider isnt blocking access to our database site.
  5. Seemingly not all the time as i have personally seen examples on these very forums of people looking after i have told them that there AV may have removed files and finding the Bigbox.dll had been quarantined without there knowledge. So it does happen, and those people are usually less tech savvy in the first place hence why they rely on a program like Norton so they can just set and forget, so they are not likely to be looking at logs to see what is going on. This below thread just being the most recent one i have seen where a user wasnt aware that Norton had interfered at all, and wanted to re-install Launchbox.
  6. BB/LB wont run on a Pi, period. Although we are in the early stages of having BB/LB on Linux that is using Wine, which is sort of Windows emulation in a way, the Pi has no where near enough power for that. As for the Pi in general for the most part using a Pi specific frontend like Batocera, Lakka, Retropie etc are decent enough, but you are really only talking 8 and 16 bit systems, anything more will be hit and miss, or outright unplayable. Its a £35 single board computer after all, it's weak. Thats not to kick it to hard as i quite like the Pi's but they were designed as cheap and weak hardware, and thats exactly what they are.
  7. With all due respect, a Antivirus that deletes files that are not virus's is a poor product to start with and not worth the money. It's clearly not fit for purpose if it just deletes perfectly safe files with little or no warnings at all, actually in that regard Norton is acting like a virus itself by removing/editing files without notifying the user, thats really bad form and i wouldnt touch Norton with a 10 foot pole. The Windows defender that comes free with Windows is a perfectly fine product, and doesnt go around deleting files without telling you or scaring you with virus warnings for perfectly safe programs, also uses far far less resources that Norton does.
  8. Yes, that is the issue, the games you are deleting are still being read from the other files. You should never have any extra files like that in that folder. Delete the Famicom one as well while you are at it
  9. Do you have a backup of the file in the data/platforms folder that is interfering?
  10. You can just drag and drop shortcuts/.exe files onto Launchbox. When the wizard opens just choose the "None of the above" option.
  11. First i would check whether or not your antivirus has removed any files, specifically the bigbox.dll we have recently seen Norton removing that, and if so tell your antivirus to restore the files ( id also just exclude the whole Launchbox folder from antivirus scans to be honest). If that doesnt work then you can install Launchbox over the top of itself. Just go to Your Launchbox/Updates folder and run the newest installer and install to the same location, this will replace the Launchbox needed files but wont touch your data/images etc. However if it was indeed your antivirus removing files the same thing will just happen again, so that is where you should really look first.
  12. Dont forget to refresh the cache in Bigbox, Options/Image Cache.
  13. There are no settings, and you didnt need to install it. VLC is included with the Launchbox installation and is in the Launchbox/ThirdParty folder, this is what is being used, not the version that you installed to your system.
  14. Or you know, just use Retroarch or mednafen like everybody else.
  15. Try this, just put the two files in your game folder and run the .bat. chd_batfile-20200927T131941Z-001.zip
  16. You need a old version of dolphin. https://dolphin-emu.org/download/list/Triforce/
  17. If you do not have the CHD the game wont work. For games like that you need the rom file AND the CHD file, the CHD is a disk image that has most of the games data in it.
  18. By map, you mean "Folder".
  19. yes, but i didnt want to load up Retroarch, so i didnt.
  20. Ever heard of google? Also you can look at the retroarch info for the core to see what file types it supports. supported_extensions = "dsk|sna|zip|tap|cdt|voc|m3u"
  21. Sorry no idea, not a platform i have ever looked at or cared about.
