If it is setup and working for MAME then it should also work with Retroarch. Go to Tools/Manage Emulators/Retroarch/Pause Screens and make sure it is actually turned on for that emulator.

I just checked here at 150% scaling on a 4K TV and the font sizes are all uniform for me, i usually use 200% scaling so i changed to 150% and rebooted and it seems fine for me. I am also on 1903 but from a earlier insider build. Are you at 1080p with scaling or another resolution?

Then it sounds like you have a configuration issue with Launchbox/Retroarch. My Retroarch 1.7.7 was also a fresh configuration, i started from scratch with 1.7.7 it is a completely new configuration with zero old configurations used.

I am using Retroarch 1.7.7. 2019-05-22 20-32-59.mp4

I can assure you it most certainly does work with retroarch. Are you using a controller encoder? If so you need to set a combo for pause in controller automation.
-
Yes there is, it is setup by default as well.
-
Hmm possible i suppose.I am running MAME 0.209 and it works just fine there.
-
Those are not Bigbox/Launchbox plugins it wants in that dropdown, just pick the one the name of the dropdown is asking for would be my guess.
-
Either that or he is still using the same shortcut to launch, which is a shortcut to the other install.

If you only have one emulator associated with a platform then you wont have a "launch with" option as there are no other emulators that are setup that work with that system, you would need another entry in the associated platform list listing a different core to use. Also i would recommend using the "sameboy" core for game boy and gameboy colour.

Yeah its not using Retroarch, like i anticipated, you either imported without a emulator attached, or you were using another emulator that you then deleted, so the games do not know to use retroarch. Click a platform on the left then on a game in that platform, use CTRL A to highlite all the games in that platform, right click one and choose edit, this will open the bulk edit wizard. Click next then in the first dropdown choose emulator, then in the second that appears Retroarch, finish out the wizard. You will need to do this for all systems you want to use retroacrh for.

I dont know where that post went, but @Belgarath is correct your paths are different, good eye. EDIT: Hmm, maybe not.
-
Can you show me images of your Associated Platform tab for Retroarch and also, right click a game that should be using retroarch, go to edit, then the emulation tab and take a shot of that please, like this.
-
Have you closed and re-opened Launchbox? You should just need to go to Tools/Manage Emulators and double click Retroarch, then go to the associated platform tab.
-
The first issue i see there is you called the emulator "mesen", dont do that call it retroarch. When it is named correctly you should have a long list of platforms in the "Associated Platform" tab of your screenshot. Next to the platform names will be a dropdown, if you double click that you can pick the core from the menu. Also were you originally using a different emulator and have now wanted to switch to Retroarch.
-
It needs to do so as its sending a key press to the emulator. That key press can not be sent if the emulator window does not have focus.
-
Yes, keyboard automation works the same way as controller automation, you need to use two keys, one as a hold and another as a exit.
-
Retroarch is setup by default using the default save/load keys.If you need to change the keys as you have already in the emulator just go to Tools/Manage/Emulators/Retroarch and click the Pause Screen tab, then the relevant tab inside that.

Same, the quick menu is only available with a core loaded, F1 will put you in there and that is where you can adjust controls or core settings under the "options" section in that quick menu, but you can then go back a layer to the main UI menu also.
-
F1 while in a game will drop you straight into the quick menu.
-
The controls section of retroarch havent changed in a long time, so older guides are still fine. You need to set them first without a game or core loaded in the main interface by going to Settings/Input/User 1 binds and setting your controls there. These will be the default controls across the UI and most cores. Then you can load a game in the core you want to change the buttons in, and this time instead of going to the main settings you use the Quick Menu/Controls section this will change the controls for just the loaded core or game, depending on how you save it as in the same menu will be a "Save Core Remap" and a "Save Game Remap", use the one you want in that case.

There is no option for RAM allocation. There did used to be in the old UI, but that is not needed now with the new framework. It's all handled dynamically now.

No you are fine, you just dont have any videos as yet. They are not included in theme downloads as that would make themes absolutely huge downloads, and there are many different styles of platform videos so its up to you to source the the style of videos you want to use.
