Excellent, thank's for the update @eatkinola, i can confirm that the game video snaps are now showing for me, was it a issue of me not having them in the default folder in the end? Thank's again for the update, and i look forward to the official release.

Adding emulators works just fine, here is a very quick video i just threw together it's only 38 seconds long and shows me adding ppsspp to Launchbox. Adding ppsspp.

Way to create a favorites folder accessible from Big Box
neil9000 replied to Lovespicyfood's topic in Noobs
Hi and welcome to the community. Yes this is possible in fact it's the sort of thing that the playlist feature was added for. you can just auto fill a playlist that contains all your favorites. -
Where are your videos located? What theme are you using and what view within that theme as not all support video's, are you using VLC or WMP? Have you tried going to options/videos and checking/unchecking background platform and game video's?

The default cores that Launchbox uses are somewhat outdated, i believe the snes one is set to snes9x_next which isn't even available in retroarch anymore, so that associated core will always need to be changed. As i said though if you go to tools/manage emulators double click retroarch and choose the associated platform tab you can see all the default platforms and what core they are using and can edit in there for the whole platform. For changing individual games to use different cores you just right click and edit the actual games and add the core path like you would in the manage emulators screen.

Hi,and welcome to the community. Bare with me a bit as i'm slightly confused. Are you saying that when you launch for example snes games through Launchbox it is using a different core to the one you would like to use? If so that is very easy to change in the associated platforms tab of your retroarch emulator, just go to manage emulators/ Retroarch/ associated platforms tab find the snes line and replace the name of the core there with the one you would like to use. If you want to change the core just for specific or several games you can right click and edit the game, or use ctrl to highlight several, then right click/edit go to the emulator tab and check the box for custom command line and enter the core in there,it should look like it does in the associated platform tab, for example -L "cores/bsnes_accuracy_libretro.dll". As for fx chip overclock on the bsnes accuracy core that is not possible, the accuracy core is designed to be as accurate as possible,so lacks any settings at all, it is what it is.

Yep, the PC i am using originally had a gtx 560ti in it when i built it due to me plunking down around £1000, i have since added a ssd and gone from the 560ti to a 770 and now a 1060. -

Yep, and i did clearly say "some genre" are fine at that framerate, a point and click adventure doesn't "need" 60fps does it?? -

Depends on the type of game really. 30fps is just fine on several genres, as long as it is a stable 30fps. I would rather lock to 30fps than the frame rate be all over the place as that effects input. -

No, he also said he wants to play AAA games, the 1050ti will do emulation at 60fps, i was just talking about actual PC games in that comment. -
The original Cityhunter theme is no longer available as it has been updated to 2.0. You could try asking the theme maker if he still has a copy of the original theme, his name is @keltoigael.

I am using a 1060 and that runs most things at 1080p just fine, i have to turn a few settings down here and there depending on the game though. And when i say just fine i'm trying to target 60fps in my games, if you are happy locking to 30fps then you can max pretty much everything on that card. -
Here is the link to the cityhunter theme.

Hi @eatkinola, sorry me again. Another thing i have just noticed is that none of my game snap videos play, in any platform, but i have a idea as to why. I have Launchbox on my ssd and all the platform video's are in the usual place in the Launchbox folder, however due to space concerns on my ssd i have all the game video snaps on a another hdd in my system, this works just fine in all other themes just not nostalgia. Do you have it hardcoded to always use the Launchbox/Video's folder? Thank's again.

Thank's for the reply, i have just renamed the image to Nintendo Entertainment System, then edited the index file to match, and it is now working. Thank's for the tip, i'll go through and edit any others as needed.

Hi @eatkinola, i'm having the same issue as @keltoigael but am getting it on NES as well, i just looked in that folder you mentioned above and see the there is a image called "Nintendo NES" and that's a completely different name to the default name Launchbox gives the platform, could that be a issue?

You can still add any newly working games manually if you want to, the database is just when you mass import mame there is a checkbox to skip broken games, but as that is a older list it will skip newly working games.
-
Are you sure you are using the same core when you launch through Launchbox as you are when just launching through Retroarch?

Yeah Launchbox is using a older mame database, so any games that have been tagged as now working since then will still not be imported as the database will still say said game is broken.
-
Yeah, posting links to sites that host roms is a big no no here.

Yeah a 64bit OS will run 32bit and 64bit just fine, but a 32bit OS will run 32bit software only.

MAME and Launchbox problem since MAME 0.186

Then with all due respect, that is a mameui issue not a Launchbox one. -
MAME and Launchbox problem since MAME 0.186
neil9000 replied to LuismaSP89's topic in Troubleshooting
Well if that is the case have you checked to see if mameui has changed any of the commands that launchbox will normally use to launch things through the command line? I'm with @lordmonkus here i use the standard mame and have no issues launching mame games at all.
