What image type view are you using? Certain views the flip does not work such as 3D box. I use only normal box cover images and like Dos it works for me. So I tested a few other views and it does not work in other types.

No. That's likely the issue with the emulation of that rom. Which is why mame warns it is not a working rom.
-
When you launch that game hit tab and go to "controls for this machine" and set the start/coins there. I had to do that for this game to get it to work. Keep in mind Mame tells you emulation is not complete on this game so it will likely either crash, get glitchy, or something weird. It is not a fully working rom.
-
@ExclusiveBox Yeah that rom is not emulated accurately. It will still play though. When you get to that second image just hit your controller buttons and it will go past that. 2018-07-31 07-49-32Trim.mp4

So the game does not even open at all or it does and you just can start playing? What is the name of the rom? I just tested SOR1 (Megaplay version) from a 0.196 set and it works. Those Megaplay you might need to set some of the controls for them as the options to start/add coins for the controls are a bit different from the core controls you may have set. I had to set those up but the fight/move controls where fine.

There is a link on the main site you can use for lost license request or email support@unbrokensoftware.com for assistance.

It should work as @neil9000 advised. I just tested, of course at first I thought it did not work, but that was due to me not removing the audio files from the root folder. In short what ever your mame platform is called create a folder for that name in the Launchbox/Music/Background/Platforms folder. So if it is called Arcade it would like like... Launchbox/Music/Background/Platform/Arcade/"name of audio file".mp3 Just make sure in the Launchbox/Music/Background folder you do not have audio or it will play over all platforms as well.
-
The biggest issue with using MameUI is the mame.ini file needs to be in the root folder not the ini folder. Edit: Dos beat me to it. ?
-
LOL. No worries. At least it is an easy fix and not some major overhaul.
-
Example A: The images are for the platform itself. (not the actual games) Example B: These images are for the actual games within the platform. So console images are in a separate folder from the games.

Images simply go in your Image folders in your Launchbox structure (LaunchBox\Images). By placing them here all themes will be able to use them. If you place images in the image folders located in the specific themes folders (LaunchBox\Themes\[Theme Name]\Images) you are designating those images to only be used by that them. This is a great option if you have specific image styles that will match a theme, but remember that means only that theme can use the image. Remember, anytime you add or change images, when you launch BigBox go to settings then images and refresh the image cache. Otherwise the new images will not be shown. Why the default theme did not use the image you placed in the themes images folder I am not sure. Images in a theme's specific folders should be primary over images in the general images folders. Maybe the default only pulls the general images as a safety since the default theme can not be deleted or edited. In any other downloaded theme this should work as planned.

Mr. RetroLust's Marquee Screen Filler Magic
Retro808 replied to Mr. RetroLust's topic in Big Box Custom Themes
Thanks for this. Really nice little touch to images for a marquee monitor. I have been waiting for something new for marquees to come along. -
Changing Spacing Between Categories in Left Sidebar

Jason did say he will be implementing the ability to edit that area so not sure what more needs to be said. Just a matter of holding tight until he is done. He did say soon....so.... -
Changing Spacing Between Categories in Left Sidebar
Retro808 replied to djFai's topic in Beta Testing
No worries. I would recommend following that thread since Next is getting close to full release and will replace the current Launchbox version. It would also be a good spot to post any items you see that were in regular Launchbox that you are not seeing in LB Next. -

It has been discussed quite a few times. See Jason's last response in the Launchbox Next items missing thread here. -
Two 8bitdo SN30 PRO controllers over bluetooth in Bootcamp
Retro808 replied to Chlain's topic in Troubleshooting
I think it is an issue with the bluetooth on Mac. I have always had issues getting two 8bitdo controllers connected to a Mac either through Mac side or Windows side from bootcamp. Many times it would see one as a keyboard input even though I am using the button combo 8bitdo lists for connecting to the various operating systems. So it would not register one as an actual controller. I do not use the Mac for gaming really so it is not something I have actively tried to figure out on it. -
Same here. I primarily use BigBox in the cabinet. I was only recently testing somethings in Next during an import and stumbled across the issue. So have no clue how long it has been there. I remember you posted you had it happen a couple times which is why I mentioned you. Thanks for tinkering if you can.
-
Well I'll be.....changed the aspect from 0.65 to 0.70 and no image issue. Thanks Jason. Will leave it at this setting until a fix.
-
@DOS76 Yes. In some cases when clicking a new platform I dont even see the cache meter run. Click on all games the cache meter runs for a bit, finishes, and still same issue.
-
@Jason Carr Issue in Next with what looks like image cache not completing and not staying. Platforms will show first 12 games then as you scroll you can see them appearing. Eventually they stop appearing and when you scroll back up all the images get removed and you end up only seeing the first 12 games again. Does it for every platform and for all games view. Only happens in next. Windows 10 fully updated and drives all current. resize.mp4

I think a couple others mentioned it. I know @Suhrvivor was one. I have messed with resolution settings in those pc games and it does not affect it. The error still happens. Only thing that does is taking it out of fullscreen. Even then it is not 100%. Maybe 1 out of 10-15 times it freezes Next on exit. Even tried compatibility and DPI options from properties right clicking the .exe and no affect. Good thing is I primarily use BigBox so there is no issue there. Just reporting since it is affecting Next.
-
@Jason Carr The issue I mentioned earlier with Next freezing up on exit from Mame also does it with PC games. Mame was easy fix keeping video on openGL, but still unsure in testing why that affected only Next (OG LB and BigBox did not have the issue). After testing a bunch of pc games I see the issue happening with several pc games. About 18 of the 30 I have installed. A few, if I knock out of fullscreen, work fine and when exiting Next does not freeze up. Most, even that does not help. Still with the pc games only Next has the issue (BigBox and Original do not freeze). This is probably something that will only affect a few and will be hard to replicate.

Right now there is no way to set an image priotiy for marquees like you can for box art and backgrounds. Marquee support missed the poll cut so updates to marquees may be a while. For now you either have to copy the images into the marquee folder (which unfortunatley increases data size) or you can make a symlink in the marquee folder the the image folder you want to use.
-
You can fix that subline issue by adjusting the option for "text spacing". The lower the value the closer it brings the text to the game image pulling it away from the bottom of the box frame
-
Spacing adjusts the vertical and horizontal space between two objects (the space between the box border of two games that the image and text actually lies within) so they do not touch each other. Padding adjusts the vertical and horizontal spacing inside that box between the boxes edge and the contents inside it. So the image and text inside does not touch the edge of the box.
