LightGun games xml It's a year old but the game list is still pretty accurate. The link is to a playlist xml. So if you do not have roms separated out this is the easiest way to have a lightgun playlist. Otherwise you would have to seperate out the roms and create a platform. This playlist one has a couple of useful links worth taking a look at for anyone setting up Lightguns.

Yes

Pretty much like making any other playlist. In your list of playlists just right click and choose add. Then name it what you want. You can leave it manually populated and right click a game to add or if you want to make it auto-populated you can choose the last played field and set criteria like "Is in Recent Days" or "Is on or After" and then set the value.

RetroHumanoid Cinematics & Refried Theme
Retro808 replied to RetroHumanoid's topic in Big Box Custom Themes
Dang I missed out on testing ?. Looking good @RetroHumanoid Excited to add this to one of my setups. -
Verify what the auto-populate field requirement is and you have to edit that in the games you are deleting. I have mine set to Field Favorite = True. So in order to delete a game in Launchbox I just uncheck the favorites icon in the games detail. Pretty much what you say you are doing. If yours is set the same way I am not sure why it would not work. Unless maybe you have a second criteria listed?
-
How is the playlist set up? Is it a manually populated or auto-populated one? How are you trying to delete the game from the list?
-
You can run the update. It will not delete the games, media, and metadata you have. If you run the installer for the update from a download from the website just make sure it does not place it in a Launchbox subfolder in your main Launchbox folder. We have seen where some have it end up \Launchbox\Launchbox

Something does not look right. There should not be a Windows.xml file in the root of the data folder. Copy the Windows.xml file in the Data folder it is referring to and paste it into a folder somewhere else. Do not delete it, just copy it and save it somewhere else. Then remove the Windows.xml file from the data folder and try running a backup again and see if that helps. Do you by chance have a platform for Windows games you imported called Windows?

Meh...You cannot blanket a statement like that on everyone who would consider him/herself a purist so to speak. I know plenty of self proclaimed purists that own numerous old arcade cabs and love emulation as it extends the life of the game itself and welcomes it to people who cannot experience an original cabinet.

I agree. Typically the issue in reference occurs with just the controller. The users in the other threads did state that when reverting to keyboard inputs the lag was not present.
-
With it recognized as xbox controller. It has no issues with any controller at all.
-
I may have to throw a small wrench in that XboxApp theory. 1 of my setups has the app on it and no controller lag. I will run some tests on the other setups to see if installing it initiates the lag.
-
Just to be clear @Lordmonkus is talking about the input lag experienced by the controller when scrolling through game titles. Not lag you would experience in your system loading images or video files or transitioning from one platform to the next. See the video posted in this thread to understand what it is specifically targeting.

Uncheck that extract rom check box. You do not need that.

The mame.ini thing is typically an issue with offshoots of mame like MameUI and Arcade64. Since command line mame generates the ini where is it supposed to be you should not have to do the ini thing mentioned. That being said since you seem to be using command line mame you likely have something disconnected in your Launchbox set-up. Go to tools>Edit Emulators and click on the Mame emulator you set up and edit it. Make sure it is pointing to the correct .exe file, make sure you do not have any of the check boxes in the middle of the screen on the first tab checked and then go to Associated Platforms and make sure you have the name of the Arcade platform you imported your roms into listed there and the name matches how you have it named in Launchbox.
-
Yes. It may also work if it is named as the Rom is named. I know images work either way. I just do not remember if videos do also.
-
Game videos go in \Launchbox\Vidoes\[Platform Name]. So for example NES game videos it would be \Launchbox\Videos\Nintendo Entertainment System Platform videos go in \Launchbox\Videos\Platforms. Videos should be named exactly as you have the platform named in Launchbox and same goes for game videos.

The GUI is not actually that bad. Just spend a few minutes moving around in it and see where everything is.
-
Input remaps per core or per game are usually saved as a .rmp file and you are correct you can edit it. However, they can only be edited once one is created. So he would have to use the GUI to edit on a per game basis his controls. Also the remap file will only contain the data that differs from the .cfg file. For example if you set a core config control as one set of controls and for a certain game you only changed the "A" button to a different control the remap file will only show that field and not the rest of the controls since that is the only one that differs.

I do not believe you can hide platforms at this time. What you can do is in Launchbox change the view type to Playlist and only Playlists will show. The drop down box above your list of platforms is where you can change. Also if you use BigBox you can set the default startup view to Playlists and each time you open BigBox only Playlists will show.
-
Probably because Launchbox is more of a keyboard/mouse user interface even though it has some controller support.
-
There is a setting in BigBox's video options to "Prioritize Game Theme Videos". It does it for all so you do not get a per platform/playlist option. It is at least already present in some form. You would need to submit a BitBucket to request feature updates.
-
When you create playlists or platforms you can specify where you want them to display. So you could have say an Arcade Platform Category and under it have Arcade which shows all games and then either create playlists (Launchbox can actually create many of these with the import wizard) or platforms for all the other systems or game manufacturers you want. The new Beta has nested filters being tested so with that you could get an even greater layer of division for your games.

You can make a Sonic Playlist adding all Sonic games from all the platform and then set Playlist as the default view on startup. If Sonic Playlist is the only one you made then that is all it will show.
