It has to do with how the scroll bar was coded for the default theme. If you want to change it to how the old default work I posted steps in this thread.

Updated to latest launchbox and now all my games are not launching
Retro808 replied to 3dlollo's topic in Troubleshooting
There will not be any logs as technically LB does not see an error. It sends the command line to RA to run the game and it does not register if it RA does run it or not. The best thing to do is determine if it is a disconnect in LB or actually something in RA directly. So let's start from the beginning then. Without using LB at all. Can you run a game directly in Retroarch and it work? If the answer is yes that usually means a disconnect in LB. The most common culprits are: 1. Wrong paths (games or emulator or both). 2. Missing or misnamed Associate Platforms. 3. Missing or incorrect cores. Can you post a few pics: 1. >Tools > Manage Emulators and share 2 pics. One of the Details Tab and one of the Associated Platforms tab. 2. Edit a game and share 3 pics. 1). the Launching Tab 2). the Emulation Tab 3). The metadata tab -
Updated to latest launchbox and now all my games are not launching
Retro808 replied to 3dlollo's topic in Troubleshooting
There have been a lot of changes since 2018 and the latest version. When you update the easiest thing to do is just run the update and let it install over top of the existing build. Doing it how you did can cause issues, not always, but it can. I would first say confirm emulator path and game path in LB. In LB > Manage Emulators edit Retroarch and confirm the path it is showing for the exe is the correct path to it. I would also, just to be safe, check the Associated Platforms tab and make sure the platform names listed there match your LB platforms and the cores associated are correct. Then pick a game, right click and edit it. Check the path to the game is the correct path as well as make sure it is using Retroarch. -
BigBox locking up my pc if left running over night...
Retro808 replied to gmee123's topic in Troubleshooting
There is a running topic on crashes when left in attract mode. I would say post there and keep an eye on that thread. Our dev has responded there a few times. -
In LB >Tools>Options if you look in the Visuals > Game Details section there should be a check box for videos.

@baboo1969 Glad you got it working, but again, not sure why you run emulators as admin. It is not needed. As @neil9000 mentioned LB should not be run as admin and the dev even recommends not to. So just an FYI others issue can occur so if you choose to leave it, than you run this risk.
-
Not sure why you run emulators as admin it is not needed. Also if you are running LB as admin that is not recommended at all. I would try running ryujinx not as admin and test the script I posted, Yes, we know one of the defaults LB uses for AHK on some emulators is the Process, Close command. It was discovered a while ago this is not a clean close command and we have been advising users to get away from that script wording.
-
@baboo1969 Did you try the script I posted a few posts up? The one you are showing has been reported not to work. I know you said you tried all sorts, I just want to confirm if you used that specific one. Are you running the emulator as Admin by chance? Also Process, Close is not a good script to use at all.
-
Where did you paste the autohotkey script? Are you using a button combo to exit the game or are you just hitting the Escape key?
-
Also look for the most recent version of the game dump you can get. Many games can load directly through Tekno and no longer need things like Game Loader RH. Last year I redid pretty all of my games that use TeknoParrot and I no longer fuss with Game Loader RH at all. Emuline would be a good site to visit for TeknoParrot related games.

There is a switch on the back. Position 1 is keyboard, Position 2 is for custom mapping, 3 is d-input, and 4 is x-input.

In game controls are all handled by each emulator. So you set your tankstick up directly in the emulator. The controls in LB are primarily for moving around in LB/BB and the button command to exit the game/emulator when playing to return back to LB/BB

No "automatically create subcategories" for MAME anymore?
Retro808 replied to Dunuin's topic in Troubleshooting
Definitely an odd issue since it is only affecting Mame. Maybe something got corrupted. You can try reinstalling 11.2 over top of you current build. It will not change any settings or games. In your \updates folder you should see the installer for that version. Just run it. Make sure it installs to the correct folder. I mention this as some users did not look at the folder it was installing to and it ended up installing to a \Launchbox\Launchbox folder. -
The ROM file you specified does not exist on only one platform
Retro808 replied to norwichred's topic in Noobs
In LB if you right click and edit one of your Snes games does tue rom path listed for the game match the path of where the game is located? -
Problems in the (Dutch) Gui Launchbox (please fix this!)
Retro808 replied to wild-child83's topic in Troubleshooting
Unless you have downloaded the latest beta and noticed a fix there then it likely has not. You would probably be better off posting in the translation thread since our dev typically responds there on translation items. -
Its still there. When you edit a game the “additional apps” page is where you find it. When you add or edit an app the UI pops up.

Unfortunately theme designers just are not designing themes to work with ultrawide monitors like that. Not much can be done unless a theme is edited to fit that screen type. I think there is only one in our download section that does.

Theme videos are just platform or gameplay videos with with artwork added to enhance the video. You just use them if you prefer it over standard gameplay videos and there is a setting in BigBox you can check to use them over non-themed videos. If you downloaded them from within the LB UI them LB will name them correctly and place them on the right folder. Badges are just little badge decals currently only available in LB. It puts a small icon next to the game image. In LB under badges you can see what badges are currently supported to be shown. Things like if the game is a Steam game (as well as others), multiple discs, favorites, if it is an installed game, and some others. So it is just an icon to give you a quick reference about the game.

If your Arcade category is missing just right click on any category or platform name in the left hand pane of LB and choose >Add>New Category. Than recreate the Arcade platform category. Make you you check to have it displayed in the Root level of LB. Now when you right click and edit those platforms you should see Arcade as a category to check.

Could have been a naming issue. When you imported the games the name LB imported them with could have slightly differed from the names of the images you manually added. The person you got that data from could have fixed the naming therefore that other xml would have had the correct names to match the images. To be honest though we rarely offer troubleshooting to downloaded LB builds/data due to this issue you are seeing. We have no way of knowing what that person did with their build and we end up chasing out tales trying to figure it out.

You can either edit the individual game and go to the Images section in the edit window and download media from there or highlight all the game missing media and then in the LB tools menu select the option to Download Media/Metadata.
-
That could be the issue. Go into your \Images\Platforms folder and look in the platform folder for N64. Then look in you image type folders like 3D Box. Are there and images? If not check the old named folder of Nintendo 64 and see if the images are there.
-
Can you post an image from one of the themes? Seeing exactly what you see can help in troubleshooting. As long as you used the LB UI to download images they will be named correctly and placed in the correct folder that no other work should be needed on your part for a BB theme to show the images.
