  1. Audit system. I'm a massive fan and It has saved me countless hours. 1. "Box - Back" given it's own field instead of being classified as a "Box Image". 2. "Screenshot - Game Title", "Screenshot - High Scores", "Screenshot - Game Over", "Screenshot - Game Select" given their own fields instead of being lumped in together in the "Screenshot Images" field. Conclusion: Just different classes of images given their own separate fields. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- RetroArch. 1. Launch different config's on the fly. Enter the different config's for a chosen platform in "Manage Emulators", and then be able to select them on the fly in BigBox in the game information screen. The more I think about this one, the more I want. Holy smoke. I could get so creative with those configs and not have to have separate custom platforms to use them. This is probably my number one wish. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Force Image Cache. 1. "Shutdown When Done" option in BigBox. 2. Force Image Cache within LaunchBox, instead of just BigBox. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Attract Mode. 1. Shuffle platforms at the start. As of now (7.10), my BigBox starts up on boot, my default view is Platforms in a text list, and will go into Attract Mode in 10 seconds. It never shuffles to start with though, so always goes into Amstrad GX4000. It comes out and then shuffles as it should. I'm getting sick of Amstrad GX4000 though lol ;-) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Idea's From Others: 1. From kmoney: Being able to change ROM paths in the bulk edit wizard. 2. From lordmonkus: Fully editable controller and keyboard functionality in BigBox. 3. From lordmonkus: Save / remember import settings. 4. From Rincewind: A checkbox in the edit emulator box to hide the mouse cursor. 5. From ckp: Launch game with any chosen emulator on the fly
  2. Yeah, it is just us normal folk uploading stuff to the Database. A couple of weeks ago, myself and another user (diamondgeezer) whom I didn't know at the time (until I posted this thread were working on the ZX Spectrum section. I started going through the games starting from the beginning, trying to source covers and other bits, and diamondgeezer then used some online tools to convert what I was uploading into 3D images. This was on a Saturday night when I should be out chasing crumpet / skirt / poonani. I tried to get the best images I could find, but with these older systems sometime beggars can't be choosers. You are probably already aware of this with MS-DOS media. I have no art skills whatsoever so I don't know how to sharpen images or anything like that. Anyway, I didn't wish this to be a back slapping post. Just a small example of what effort goes into the LaunchBox Database and what type of folk work on it. Just us users. It's a team effort.
  3. I love the Audit system. There isn't anything else like it on any other front end that I have used. (With another front end, not Hyperspin) I spent weeks going into each game individually to see what media was missing and handwriting notes and checklists into Google Keep as to what I was missing etc. I spent whole weekends doing this. With the LaunchBox Audit system, I was able to wrap up a similar patchy medialess system in just a few days (and not a handwritten note / checklist in sight). Yes, I do agree that there could be more fields such as "Box - Back" and I wish the "Screenshot - Game Title", "Screenshot - High Scores", "Screenshot - Game Over" were given their own fields instead of being lumped in together in the "Screenshot Images" field. So yeah, I agree that there could be some slight improvements made but am also happy with what is there now. I don't agree with your sneering tone though "Such a user friendly program isn't it?", "and it does stupid things like thinks that clear logos and backgrounds are box front images". I don't think these comments help anything in any way.
  4. I think it is normally a typo, but I love it lol. I should have included Shoot 'Em Up when I started the poll argh.
  5. Shump fills my heart with glee everytime I hear / read it.
  6. Thanks for this switch mate. Holy moly, I've been looking far and wide for this.
  7. Holy smokes! This ruddy well works. I can't believe that solution was there all along lol.
  8. Haha, it's you! Well done fella. Yeah, we'll get that Spectrum section up to scratch yet. Thanks for those links mate. I was wondering how you did that. I thought those 3D Boxes you have been putting up are great. Nice to meet you :-)
  9. Are there any sexy photoshoppers here that can rotate these nice and straight for us? I'd well appreciate it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/u2f59f8uqepcxht/screenshot.2017-06-10 (1).jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/gqawwy4ij1m1kf7/screenshot.2017-06-10.jpg?dl=0 The existing ones are not great ---- http://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/images/57686 ***It's sorted now :-)
  10. Yeah, I will give it a go if I come across it. I tried it earlier but me and my browser got confused and someone ended up rejecting my entry lol.
  11. Yeah, one minute I had uploaded a Spanish Box Front for 1942. It got accepted really quickly. Then I went back to Moderate minutes later and this other user had automagically created a great looking 3D version of it. Great bit of teamwork that lol. http://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/images/18067
  12. To the guy / gal who is working on the ZX Spectrum with me: good work :-). At one point last night, I was on the 3D (beginning) and you started working on the Z's which was pretty cool teamwork. I'll meet you in the middle :-). I'd love to know where you find those 3D box images? Do you create them yourself? I'm working from the beginning and I'm up to 3D Starstrike at the moment. Forgive me if upload something that is not great. It can be tricky finding good quality stuff for these old systems.
  13. I had no idea and just found out today that Tekken 7 is out, has been getting rave reviews and.....uses 64bit Windows. And I'm stuck with 32bit Windows 7 :-( Anyway, I've gone off topic. Sorwee.
  14. Can I get one that plays Tekken 7? :-)
  15. I enjoy RSS and TGHS. Keep up the good work on YouTube Brad :-)
  16. While moderating, someone had been uploading the blanks and put their reason as "Because everyone needs more alf in their lives" which gave me a chuckle. Need some more of this humour :-) No, I never knew there was an ALF game for MS-DOS! I know about the Master System one, but I thought the MS-DOS platform was a bit too highbrow and posh for games like ALF ;-) I have learn't about a lot of games I never knew existed since discovering the LB database.
  17. LMAO. Who was this? Confess :-) (Gave me a chuckle while grinding through the workload) http://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/details/32933
  18. Great plugin! Just one issue and it is to do with non-standard platform names. I have renamed Nintendo Entertainment System (Standard) to Nintendo NES. The browser instance closes when it gets to the part where the platform is entered. I guess it needs a "scrape as" type of option? I considered renaming back to the standard name but it would break all my image paths :-( Great work mate.
  19. I don't use the built in Favorites but I have a Playlist of my favorites. Can this be backed up?
  20. RetroArch is not a mess. It is a little bit tricky, in places, and I wouldn't recommend it for someone just getting back into emulation, but once you get it worked out, it is excellent. The OP made a good choice for frontends though. I was a long time user of another prominent frontend (Not Hyperspin) and LaunchBox is so much simpler, more customisable and prettier in comparison.
  21. Great. Thanks Jason. And thanks for the work you do, also.
  22. Is it safe to update to a Beta and then afterwards install official 7.9 again? Do I just install over the top of my current installation?
  23. This is true. I started using 1.5.0 (alongside 1.0.0.2) for this feature, mainly for the N64, and the newish ParaLELL core. This is way off topic Brad, so do forgive me, but have you got any thoughts on the ParaLELL Core for the N64?
  24. I can't be much help with the rest of your situation (even though I am an extensive RetroArch user with a million custom configs / bezels / shaders for a ton of systems EXCEPT Arcade lol). It took me a long while to figure out RetroArch but once things clicked, that was it. Anyway, I did notice this in your quote above and this is something I've never done. In the RetroArch UI, I always load the config first, and then select the core. Infact I mostly use RetroArch v1.0.0.2 and this loads the core automatically with the config. I noticed that v1.5.0 doesn't do this for some reason. But regardless, even with v1.5.0 I still load the config first and then load the core. I don't know if this is any help to you but I thought I'd get it out there anyway.
