I get that it's packaged with it. Neaning there are other .exe now. What I'm saying is if I go and hit the .next.exe and use that, what am I losing functionality wise. Thank you for the reply tho

This is a hard question to answer because if you have a modern Intel like the i3 8100 and possibly earlier ones as well then no it wouldn't help. If you have something that is a bit older than its possibe. Perhaps giving your current specs would help answer this correctly.

That also could be the issue. When a customer calls me with an issue, if they tell me the video card failed and don't bring me the PC back then I can't test it. It very well maybe a uneducated customer that gives up on it. I just never would recommend d a Amd card. For the most part I install nvidia. They are having issues with 4k for games but they are working on getting it done by updates etc but still have their issues just like Intel is having issues. I don't know about amd and their issues.

Nvidia seems to be a better option in my opinion. However I always lean away from Amd. I'e had more failures in the 15 yrs of building pcs with Amd cards.

I dot even run a video card. I have the i3 8100. And Im able to run emulation just fine. I do have to lower my settings for rise of the tomb raider and most other pc games. But I'm content. I have my xbox one X for games I rely want in 4k or just a bit better looking graphics. I don't play many pc games or xbox for that matter so it doesn't bother me one bit.

Um what' s wring with your specs? They are good enough to run most platforms well enough.

Maybe someone can point out the major reasons why one would use Mame over retroarch would help me make my decision to try out mame.exe instead. I have working games with retroarch which was so much easier to setup for me. However, if there is something I'm missing in using the standalone, please by all means share.

So you have not tried retroarch with the mame drivers (multiple) yet? There are video walkthroughs for launchbox that are pretty in depth. Mame is much more complex than other systems. If you plan on doing other systems , I would start with something a little less complicated, so that you can get the feel for how easy it is once retroarch and launchbox is to setup. Then tackle mame. Sorry I'm not much help here but possibly watching the launchbox mame tutorials will help you a bit more.

Well if it were me as the OP I would care. And that in itself should warrant having respect for other people. It is the reason why you can't just walk up to someone and punch them. It is a hijack of someone else's thread. That is just plain ole good Etiquette not to hijack. It takes away from the OP. Something I'm interested in. What I'm not interested in is getting replies from the thread I joined when it has nothing to do with OP. It shouldn't have to be moved by moderators. Now with that said, I've been new before and the extra question on here that clearly does not belong may not know any better. By not letting him know, does him a disservice because it may not be seen by other people since there is no tags or a clear subject and the whole community in general since other people will keep getting notifications of something they never planned on listening or helping with. Therefore they shut off notifications. Also it creates utter chaos when it comes to the community sorting out info. Hence why there is not one thread dealing with all issues. Imagine that? Maybe you don' care but the site does since there isn' one thread dealing with individual issues. It wasn't made out to be disrespectful I clearly made an appropriate comment that fits.

I think with a nvidia card you can play video games on the nvidia shield much more easily. Probably not what you were looking for but I always opt for nvidia, then I go for the cheaper (probably a rebate out there )(If it's basically the same gpu). Nvidia has never let me down. After that just go for what you can afford. If it were me, I would buy used locally on 5mile or other local selling app. Good luck.
