@faeran

Can you guys look into this? I am trying to import a mame romset and I get this error. I am for the most part using a full mame romset, but some roms were removed to reduce space. . I used to be able to import semi-full sets, but now I can't

Thanks

What rom set (merged, split, non-moerged) are you using and how many files did you remove?

With the full set importer LB is looking to the folder you have the full set in and is looking to ensure it has a certain number of files in it. If it does not meet that requirement you get that error. I remember a post stating there is a file cut off and if you have anything less than that it will not work with the full set importer. I think the file cut off limit is based on the Mame set.

It's a merged set. I did remove quite a bit of roms, as I wanted a set that did not have extra's such as playchoice, casino, mahjong. etc. I went this route because I wanted to have clones, might have to switch to a split set and import using regular import.

Can you confirm how many files you have left in your arcade folder?

I actually deleted the folder so I don't have an accurate count of files. But If I had to guess I would say about 4 to 5 thousand files.

I think I saw C-Beats mention in another thread the threshold is 4,000. It might be different per set since non-merged set has typically less overall files than a merged which I think is around 40K total files.

He is correct, my original list had 3408 roms, which didn't import. I then used a split romset which had close to 8000 files and that worked. So I guess there is a threshold of some kind.

Retro808 is correct in that we have a minimum file check of 4000. This is because that importer imports all games in that MAME Arcade set, regardless of what files you have in your folder. If you're removing ROMs before importing you'd want to use the standard ROM importer and it'd let you.

Upon opening Launchbox  the NES favorites are missing. There just isn't a section for it on the top, but the favorited games don't show at all even in the non favorited section. Opening a restore file from 1/26 will restore it, but none of the restoration files after that date.

Only applies to the NES section for some reason.

Just curious is anything was done to address the start up video loading to a black screen? I’ve only started my machine about 5 times so it’s early to tell if I will have the problem  of it not loading still but so far so good and  I have noticed LEDblinky loads A LOT faster during the start up video. Thank you

I don't know if it happens to you, but in the new version of Launchbox, with PSP games it only shows me the TEKKEN 6 achievements, none of the others, I have everything in CHD format, and my emulator version is PPSSPP 1.17. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, can someone help me.

All the best

.

There seems to be some issues with RetroAchievements again.  I usually scan my games weekly so anything added on the site is populated onto my list on LaunchBox.  2 days ago, I did a scan  and many of my games that have been detected are no longer detected.  Over half of my games are still detected, but more specifically, consoles like SNES, Genesis, NES have zero games on their list now.  These games have the same hash as before, and have worked well up through the most recent update where I've ran into problems.  I can launch RetroArch and the games all my games still show achievement support there, but about half my consoles are having this issue currently.  Consoles that are still working fine are Playstation 1 and 2, Nintendo 64, Sega Saturn and several others.  It's really hit or miss.

Please see the post linked here. I think @C-Beats did some changes to the database so try updating the metadata to see if this fixes your issue.

I'm trying to import a new Unaltered 0.261 full (Non-Merged rom set with all the Merged CHDs), but no matter what generas I include/exclude it wants to import exactly 3183 roms every time. I'm using a new official mame exe installed through LB. Any ideas? The set has 40,971 zip files total.

UPDADE: ok so it seems to be a bug. If you go through the mame importer then get to the end where it shows you how many games its going to import and click back to change something, after youve made your changes and click next again the full set importer will still tell you its going to import the same amount of games as before even though the list of games has changed. So basically the number on the bottom right isn't updating after making changes.

You can get more if you just manually install it (Don't go though the MAME function)

I just installed it manually using working only (no clones) dummy zip files (approx 4,600) and it works fine.

Trust me, you do not want to install all 40,971 as 85/90% are clones.

lol actually just updated my post, and found it was a bug, But Yeah wasnt trying to install all 40k roms lol. was just thinking the importer wasn't letting me alter the ones i wanted, because i found that the number in the full set importer is bugged, and if you make changes by clicking the back button then clicking next again (After making changes) the number in the bottom right where it says how many games are being imported wont change, but the list of games will 😣.

Ha Ha , I still think it doesn't pick up anywhere near 4,600 no matter what you do, that's why I tried to manually install it.

Glad you got it working to your satisfaction 👍

Hey LB team. I'm getting an error that happens each time I open LB. It just started today, and I even tried a couple backups without any luck. Could anyone shed some light on what's going on here?
