Keep in mind that the error is showing up because it's trying to *write* to that folder on the NAS. In that case, anything would be able to read it without issues, hence the Shield being able to read the ROMs. The permissions issue is happening when LaunchBox tries to create a directory, which basically means writing to the folder. Local permissions most likely have nothing to do with it.

There is a known issue where if the game has multiple files, it will only copy the one file that is referenced, sans for .bin and .cue files that are named exactly the same (those are copied together). We will be improving this in the future to a certain extent, but unfortunately it's probably never going to be perfect. I don't have any clue on this for the moment; this question may be better asked on the Retroarch forums. Currently it will launch whichever file was specified as the launch file on the desktop. Editing features are coming soon though. I don't know of a solution there; honestly I haven't ever tried overlays or bezels on Android.

There's not an official thread, but I do read most topics and catch the feature requests.

I would think that the issue would have more to do with your NAS device than anything on your Windows PC. I don't know anything about your NAS, but maybe file system permissions got messed up on the NAS.
-
That would work for your local network, but not really over the Internet, so you couldn't use it if you left your house. But yes, I do plan on adding that in eventually, assuming Android doesn't make it an impossibility.

Beta 8 is out now with just some translation updates. Still planning on putting the official 10.2 release out tomorrow morning.

Thank you guys! I have the translations in for a beta that I'm about to put out.

Generally, in that case, the best solution is to use Windows Explorer to search for the correct files to add, and then you can drag and drop them into LaunchBox and import them that way. If you check the user folder name box, that will work properly, assuming the folders aren't nested as @neil9000 says above. If they're nested, you're probably going to be out of luck without doing some manual work or restructuring the folders somehow. Not sure how we would solve that one.

Hmm, this is odd, and not something I've seen before @RetroRalph. It could be a translation issue; what language are you using? Does it work properly if you temporarily switch back to English?
-
Yeah, that's a major challenge. It may not be possible at all with your device. Micro SD cards actually exist up to 1 TB, but older devices may not support the largest cards. You might just be out of luck. One option is to export all the ROM files, but skip the CHDs, as most games will run, but not the most modern stuff.

That's pretty strange. The 7-zip backup process is hardcoded to only back up things inside the LaunchBox\Data folder. I have no idea why any other part of the hard drive would be affected. We have to be missing something here somehow. That backup process is running for everyone who's downloaded the betas, which is a lot of people, and I haven't seen this elsewhere, so I guess we need to figure out what on earth could be unique about your setup that could be causing this issue. What folder is your LaunchBox installed to? How big is your LaunchBox\Data folder?

Okay, when I go to that URL you linked above, I don't get any errors. Do you mean you were getting an error with that same link previously?

Import only pulling one advertisement flyer
Jason Carr replied to TheNewClassics's topic in Troubleshooting
It will currently only pull one region's files down for the advertisements category (the region that matches your region priorities or the game region the best). I can see wanting multiple ad flyers though, because it can be interesting to see them from different regions. Sadly though, I don't think we have an option for that currently. I do already have an item on my list to allow downloading everything. -
Nothing has changed lately with AHK or any of that scripting stuff. Hopefully @Undertherainbow can help you get up and running @Aevans0001.

Okay, have you tried to install a new copy of LaunchBox to a different folder? You can go ahead and install a new copy to a new folder, and it will leave your other installation in place, as-is. It would be good to know if you have the same issues with a brand new install of LaunchBox\Big Box, or if it's likely data-related.

Thank you @KillerQ. I am able to replicate this, noted.

You may also be able to restore your Settings.xml from a backup that was made before it got messed up (from the LaunchBox\Backups folder).
-
Hmm, somehow your windows settings are going haywire. I've only seen this once before, so it must be something somehow unique to your setup; maybe some kind of a third party window manager app or something of that nature? Anyways, the easiest fix is probably to just delete your LaunchBox\Data\Settings.xml file. That will make you lose all your LaunchBox settings, but it should reset the window settings without making you lose any other data.

If we can confirm that a particular image on the games db is broken, then we should probably just remove that image from the DB. I doubt there are very many though. The pause screens can cause issues like this if they're not configured correctly for a particular emulator. Most likely you'll just need to play with the settings to get them to work correctly. Most likely this is caused by a permissions issue on that network drive. I would expect that it's exactly as it says, that it's unable to create that folder. You'll need to check the permissions to make sure that it's able to create folders in that Z:\ROMS folder. It also may be incorrect referring to a folder that does not exist, which is why it's trying to create it in the first place.

It will allow you to export new platforms without overwriting, but you do have to export entire platforms at a time currently. But you don't have to do the full set, just the single platform that you want to change.
-
I will add it to my list, but it's probably going to be difficult to prioritize very high, because it's the first I've heard of the request.
-
What do you mean by this @dbalcar? Backing up the whole drive to itself? Obviously it should not be backing up the whole drive, only the LaunchBox\Data folder. Are you manually running the backup process or are you talking about the automatic backup?
-
To be honest I currently have zero experience with RPCS3, so I really have no idea about any of this at current. We can look to add something in future if needed though.
-
You'll currently only be able to use one of the two locations, not both. So if you want to use an external, you'll need to move the stuff that's in your internal storage to your external drive, or just re-export that stuff along with whatever the new stuff is that you want to add. Then you'll need to make sure that the /Android/data/com.unbrokensoftware.launchbox/files/LaunchBox folder does not exist in your internal storage.

I see. Yeah, currently the video will replay unless it can use filters to identify that it's filtered for that platform. Probably the best way to do it currently would be to just favorite the games in that Best Of playlist, and then use a filtered playlist instead.
