This is still a pain currently, unfortunately. First and foremost, I'd recommend getting a controller that has a dedicated Escape button. I find the Tanksticks to be very unfriendly compared to Rec Room Masters' Emulator Edition. What I've done in the past is just configured Retroarch and MAME to handle this themselves. Believe it or not, MAME will take a button combination to exit directly in the MAME settings, and you can do this with Retroarch too using their own button combination system. I don't have a solution currently for other emulators though...but I know this is something we need to add into LaunchBox yet.

Hi Maddoc, can you email the theme files? I'll take a look to see what might be going wrong. jason@unbrokensoftware.com

Should still be there @djwar. I don't have the ticket at hand but this is still planned.

Hi Maddoc, if you run Big Box it should fix the themes so that doesn't happen. The themes are automatically upgraded for 7.0. Try closing all instances of Visual Studio, starting up Big Box 7.0-beta-4, and then editing the theme in Visual Studio after exiting Big Box.

Forgot to update this thread guys, the update video is out for this week: A new beta is out that includes an option to speed up the wheel. It's under Views > Wheel Minimum Speed.

Thanks guys. I did put another beta out to fix an issue with the renewal process. Now that it's November, people will start to see notifications that updates are not available for them because their premium license has expired (we're just now 1 year into the yearly premium licenses). Still in the process of working the other two features (automatic ROM folder parsing and the PDF reader). I took a bit of a side-step with the new theme features but those are ready to go now I believe.

Emulator Cores - An open letter to the developers
Jason Carr replied to robwired's topic in Features
It's worth noting that for the bartop arcades that we're going to be selling here soon, they will come preconfigured so that it is as easy as drag and drop to add your ROMs. This is relatively easy to do when you can control the hardware, but of course it gets more hairy otherwise. But I do think this will be a step in the right direction for ease of use. -
Oic. Sorry lol...I didn't catch that.

Gotcha. I *think* everything should be covered already sans for the alignment issue, @viking. Loving that theme, by the way. You should be able to switch the image type by changing the ImageType field on the FlowControl. The horizontal version should also already be possible with something like this: <coverFlow:FlowControl x:Name="FlowControl" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Grid.Column="0" Grid.ColumnSpan="3" ImageType="ClearLogo" CurveAmount="0" CameraZPosition="9" VisibleCount="14" PageSize="6" ItemZPosition="1.0" SelectedItemZPosition="3.0" Spacing="3.8" Panel.ZIndex="1" > <coverFlow:FlowControl.CoverFactory> <coverFlow:HorizontalWheelCoverFactory /> </coverFlow:FlowControl.CoverFactory> </coverFlow:FlowControl>

Awesome! Great to hear it guys.

Hey guys, sorry I haven't come through with the rest of the videos yet. What videos do you guys still need?
-
Reviewed your document, @martinconroy. There's a ton of great ideas there, so thank you. I think the most urgent thing is to allow a way to disable or enable LEDBlinky and voice features on a system-by-system basis. We're probably a long ways off from integrating everything in that document, but I hope we can get there eventually.

Hey all, beta 2 is out. It adds theme settings and better ESRB icon support for custom themes. Theme settings will allow certain themes to override the user's current settings whenever that theme is active, which will fix some points of confusion where themes require background videos to be enabled, etc. Martin, reviewing that document. A theme editor is a possibility in the future, but that's probably a long ways out, as it's such a major undertaking. I have the scroll issue near the top of my list.

Hey guys, I've finally posted 7.0-beta-1. This release still does not have the auto ROM folder parsing stuff nor does it have the PDF stuff in Big Box. Those features are not yet complete so they have been disabled for this beta. What it does have is downloads for the new platform themes videos. There's a new Tools > Download Platform Theme Videos option in LaunchBox and the Download Metadata and Import wizards have been tweaked to allow downloading them as well. In addition, themes can now include custom platform videos that will override the videos in the user's collection. I apologize, but I have not read through the remainder of this thread yet. It's almost 2:00 AM now and I'm pretty exhausted, so I'll get back to the thread here tomorrow hopefully. See you guys in the live stream tomorrow morning.

LOLS. Dark Souls makes me RAAGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

No problem @bobrpggamer; I really appreciate that. Glad you've chosen to stick with LaunchBox. Manic depression runs in my family so I sort of know how that stuff is. Welcome and enjoy the app and the community here.

Woah. @SentaiBrad @Freestate None of this is worth this kind of banter. Neither response was justified, and I'd ask that you both just cool down.
-
Nice. Thanks much. I can fill in the holes with the rest.
-
Actually, I wonder how the best way to do this would be. I have the files all already on the server, so I could upload them from there, but it might be difficult to get them under the right name.
-
We are actually in the middle of fixing this one now guys. Obviously it's proving a difficult bug to fix or it would have been fixed ages ago. I am still able to go through and manually delete all the games that have been marked for deletion, so I will do that again once we have the actual bug fixed.
-
Ah, great. Thank you @nyny77! We have backups of all of the videos so I can get them to you. I'll work on creating a Dropbox link.
-
Sure, I don't think it's supported by our Downloads system, but agreed, that would be nice. I'll give it a once-over to see if that's possible.
