Hi @Xiverio, I believe this is already planned on Bitbucket. Should be a ticket there and you can vote on it. Feel free to add a new one if you can't find it: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues

Hi @citistyle, do me a favor and change your icon. We need to keep this place at least at a PG level.

@Eirulan I believe I have fixed that first bug in the latest beta. Per the audio issues, we're using DirectX's XAudio2 to render the sounds, so maybe try reinstalling DirectX? Other than that, it could be related to the Windows Media Player or VLC video playback engines. Maybe try switching video playback engines? This is the first time I'm hearing of it though so I'm guessing there's something awry with sound something on your system (though I know that's not very helpful).

Hi andyco, it's not normal for that to happen, but I know some people have struggled with it. If I recall correctly, those people were using Rocket Launcher; are you by chance? I think it might be a Rocket Launcher configuration issue.

Hi @Retro956, there is a way to do this but it's unfortunately not very easy currently; it's pretty convoluted and would take a book to explain. I have plans to both come up with an easier solution and add it to the documentation so that it's easier to add transitions for things like this; hopefully I can tackle that shortly after the 6.9 release.

No problem @latin625, good to get these kind of posts on the forums because other people can stumble on them and solve their problem too.

Wow, that's interesting @BoxBox. I'm curious what that ltc_game64... DLL file is; is that part of Plays TV?
-
Hi @renarshemi, good ideas there. Can you create a new ticket using Issues/Requests in the header, one for each idea? Thanks!
-
Yes, the controller automation simply triggers the Escape key, so it's reliant on the Escape key closing the emulator out. Previously we had been doing things like force-closing apps and windows, but that causes problems for emulator features like save on exit and such.
-
Thank you Arzoo! Count me in for the beta testing as well, of course.
-
Just a threading issue where the video is loaded after the rest of the interface has moved on.
-
And the new beta with the hopeful VLC fixes is out. I've been refusing to use Windows Media Player for the last week just so I can get annoyed enough to fix all the issues lol.
-
Hi @HobbitCy, I have that feature planned but sadly there's no good way to do that right now. That is currently bugging me as well; I've been wanting a media audit feature too so I'm sure it won't be too long before it's implemented.
-
Yes, that should probably be optimized. Honestly it's a relic from back when we only supported one image per category. I'm not sure there is a point to it currently, so we do need to address that. I think ideally we'll need options for prioritizing EmuMovies, prioritizing the LaunchBox Games Database, or including both. Feel free to put in a ticket for that if you can, @chito.

Hi @chito, that does sound like a cool idea. We have plans to add background music and music playback controls and such, but hopefully eventually we can add a full jukebox experience. Feel free to add a ticket using the Issues/Requests link in the header for the jukebox features.

Thank you guys. @kmoney and @Layby2K, yes, I've spent the weekend attempting to address those same VLC-related issues. I'm able to replicate the crashes, the audio playing in the background, and the videos not showing up. I'm hoping I've fixed that stuff now but time will tell. I'll have another new beta out shortly.
-
Indeed. It's implemented and ready to go in the latest beta, and the official version should be out this coming week.
-
Thank you @ThePolish. I'm still amazed I get to do this for a living really.
-
Nothing wrong with sharing legitimate torrents. Thanks @Thanos Reigns.

@suspendedhatch, I'm going for the easiest method here. Not trying to preach to you or anyone else. Also not trying to say you need an SSD. On top of that, no, 3 TB is not required unless you're a hoarder.
-
Sure, to be honest I'm not sure if these forums were ever made to work well with such large downloads, so we many just need to split the files up. @nyny77, any chance you could split them up and upload smaller files? I think a single "download" will let you upload multiple files.

@shinra358 I'll be headed back to Bitbucket next week to run through everything and fix all the bugs I can find. If Big Box is taking longer to load in the last few betas, it sounds like maybe you have voice recognition enabled? Voice recognition does indeed significantly increase the startup time. I may look at optimizing this soon (such as delaying loading the voice recognition for example). @kmoney, yes I'm sure we can optimize that at some point here. I agree that that is currently the most sluggish part of Big Box currently. I still have the CoverFlow looping on my list. @spycat So great to hear, thank you much.

That's my hope. The image thing was giving me nightmares.

Hi @mrman365, it depends on the platform you are importing. Music is not necessarily available for every game and for every platform.
