Thank you @Eirulan for that clarification. I'll look into the music issue.

Thanks for that report @emko. I'm going to hold off on that until after the 6.9 release but I'll look into that stuff soon. It does seem pretty weird; I'm wondering if it has anything to do with EmuMovies vs. the LaunchBox Games Database? Thank you so much once again for all that testing @kmoney. I think we'll call the VLC stuff good for the 6.9 release. I'll hold off on making it the default until the next release just in case we run into some additional issues after the full release, but sounds like we can make it the default very soon. @martinconroy Bah. One thing that confuses me is why on earth your voices would be showing "Mobile" on a desktop version of Windows. What type of device are you using? Is it a tablet? A laptop? I also don't understand why the Microsoft libraries are giving me completely different results than what is in your list; I'm pretty baffled at this point. I want to put out the official release today so we might not be able to resolve this before 6.9, but we'll get there one way or another. Try just changing the speech recognition options first. Go to Control Panel > Speech Recognition > Advanced speech options and the Speech Properties dialog should show up. At the top is a Language drop down. I'm curious to know what language you have selected there. There are separate options for both the speech recognition language and the speech synthesis language I believe, and I would guess the speech recognition options are more important.

This is not far off at this point. I have plans to integrate this soon.

That is really great to hear, @polymorph77. #1 is odd; that's the first I'm hearing of it. I'm curious if you reboot and restart LaunchBox if the issue still remains. Per exiting games via controller automation or voice recognition, they both do the same thing. All they do is sent an Escape virtual key press to the system; unfortunately there are some known issues there. For one, MAME refuses to accept virtual key presses, and so we don't have a good solution there. If the emulator won't accept an Escape virtual key press as a sign to exit, then unfortunately it won't work. I do have plans to improve on this though. I don't understand why it would only work sometimes and not always though; I've never seen that happen before. What emulator were you testing with? We are going to go ahead with the 6.9 official release today, but of course we will continue to address these issues.

Yeah, looks like we most likely have an invalid entry on the LaunchBox Games Database.
-
Ah, noted @Fuscan. Good to hear about the imports and exports though.

New beta is out.
-
Nope! Thank you @Wattoo. Putting these in a beta now.
-
Thank you @kmoney. Do you happen to know if you were using background videos when you got the doubling audio? Do you happen to know what view's audio was still playing in the background when it happened (and maybe what view you were on)? Thanks again.

And another new beta is out. @martinconroy I've made some tweaks in this beta that I'm hoping *might* fix your issue. I noticed some conflicts between UK English and US English when initializing the recognition so I'm hoping that this will finally fix the issue. The UK English voices should now show up in the list as well. Let me know how this one fares. Note that it's normal for loading times to be increased (in some cases significantly) when voice recognition is enabled; I plan to do more optimizations for it at some point in the future. @kmoney I've put in some additional safety checks to hopefully prevent any more cases of VLC overplaying audio. Any testing you can do before the release tomorrow would be much appreciated. Thank you very, very much for your continued VLC testing in fixing all of these issues. It really helps. @kyoken I just saw this so unfortunately I didn't check on it for this beta. Hopefully I can look into it before the release tomorrow. Thanks all!

Good to hear, @ckp. It might be a while.
-
Sounds good. Thanks @Zombeaver.
-
Hi @Zaazu, indeed. Just reimport your ROM files and any existing games will be ignored and not reimported. We do have a better solution for this coming.
-
Hi Freaky, yes we do plan on adding that stuff eventually. In all honestly it's not exactly high priority, but it's definitely on our list.
-
Not currently, @ckp. We do have plans to fix that issue, though.

Hi @sfn103, sounds good. I have several translations packages to create so I'll get them created shortly after the 6.9 release. Just put out a new beta with all the translation updates. Thanks guys. Still plan on putting out the official 6.9 release tomorrow.
-
Thank you guys. New beta is out that fixes the following: - Fixed: Custom theme errors in Big Box were not properly reverting back to the default theme - Fixed: Using folder names for imports with a period in the folder name was causing naming issues - Fixed: Viewing videos fullscreen in Big Box was always using the Windows Media Player engine even if VLC was selected - Fixed: The System and Options views in Big Box were not properly refreshing after changing themes - Fixed: Several issues with the LaunchBox zip package exporter were introduced in recent versions @kmoney and @martinconroy, I'm off to take a look at those issues next.
-
Sure; that will be hard to follow. It's possible that maybe LaunchBox needed to be restarted or something weird like that. I haven't done a lot of testing in scenarios where files are being renamed while LaunchBox is open.

Attract Mode enhancement - random videos from folder

Thank you GG; that is a good idea. Can you add a ticket for it using Issues/Requests in the header? Thanks! -
Resolved - Cannot Scrape NeoGeo roms Properly - Informational
Jason Carr replied to djweevil's topic in Troubleshooting
Perhaps those ROMs are already included in Arcade, @djweevil? What happens if you check the box to force importing duplicates? -
@audunv So sorry for the delays on those translation packages. I moved it back up to the top of my shortlist. I'll plan to get you those shortly after the 6.9 release, which should be out tomorrow. If it slips again, hit me over the head. Really sorry for the delays; I got a lot of stuff going on and sometimes I lose track. Thanks @AFaustini, @Wattoo, and @Opaklopper. I'll have a new beta with the translation updates out later today. Planning to put the official release out tomorrow.
-
Odd. Other than maybe an image refresh issue, that's not making a lot of sense. I assume you made sure that you refreshed the image manually after making the changes?
-
Thanks Retro. The scrolling should be scrolling endlessly; I'll take a look to see if I have a bug there. By the way, this isn't Visual Basic; it's a XAML markup for WPF. Visual Basic is a separate thing entirely, and LaunchBox/Big Box are coded in C#, which is also part of .NET, but it isn't Visual Basic. Doesn't matter much but I thought I'd clarify.
-
Thank you @Diverdown! Unfortunately there are no options currently for play once or mute for the videos; however, I agree that we need those features. We have current plans for separate volume controls for videos, sound effects, music, etc., so that should be coming soon. The play once thing is a new one to me; can you add a ticket for that using Issues/Requests in the header? Thanks!

Exit emulator/Back to BigBox from Joystick
Jason Carr replied to WolfRamiO's topic in Troubleshooting
Depending on the emulator, AutoHotkey may not work to send key presses. MAME is notorious for being a royal pain in this regard. MAME refuses to accept any "virtual" keypresses, and only takes input from physical keyboards. That's been pretty frustrating for us because it makes it very difficult to automate closing MAME (using voice recognition or controller automation). You're on the right track with the AutoHotkey stuff, but it's also worth noting that AutoHotkey sometimes has issues with Microsoft's latest 360/Xbox One controller drivers and sometimes it just won't work at all. We had to replace the controller automation solution using AutoHotkey with our own because of this issue. There's no way currently to use controller automation for just a single button, but you could add a ticket for that using Issues/Requests in the header.
