  1. Oh also, the first drive has been active 21,918 hours which is roughly 2 and a half years, and the other drive 35,907, which is about 4 years and 1 month. So the second drive has seen some wear, but they are rated for about 5-7 years, right? The common denominator in all of my drives failing in the last 4-5 years, was that they are all Seagate drives, this would make drives 3 and 4, maybe even 4 and 5, I can't quite remember (might be an exchanged drive or two in there).
  2. I tried Ctrl + Alt + Del, and nothing had happened. Never needed to do that before either. I did end up making it come back, but I am not sure exactly on which it was. As for the SMART Tests, the screenshots show the errors for both. Both have "relocated sectors count", which a Wiki table shows as an error that means the drive is actively failing, especially if the value jumps up a few in a day. The first drive also has Current Pending Sector count and Uncorrectable Sector Count, which I think means a sector is failing or has failed and there is nothing the drive can do to fix it. The second drive only has the first Relocated Sectors Count error, but that was still one of the "this probably means death" signs.
  3. Yea, it's only when you start getting to big lots (75+ games I would say), where pricing them out individually becomes super expensive and tedious.
  4. RLKBJWRTL;BMRWLKNBVRTKL;NBRTLKNBKRTLNBVRLT;WMBRLTJBNRGN4TW'N[4QTRHM4QT[H;B,M There we go. The more intelligent response is that I have another two drives that are dying, except this time I caught it early. One drive was acting very poor, like it had bad sectors (very intermittent read / write speeds, and even losing connectiong completely two or three times), and so I ran a SMART scan with Crystal Disk Info. Well a second drive also failed the SMART test, on the same location, and looking up that error, it means that the drive is going to fail, soon. I took some screen shots of each error here and here as well. So, now I have to buy ANOTHER hard drive. What makes things even worse too, I was restarting because that would solve, at least temporarily while I move stuff off of it, the speeds of the drive. Well, during the last reboot, MY WINDOWS 10 LOGIN COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED! I mean, gone. You get to that screen with the time and date, I press enter to bring up the Pin prompt, gone, same with the image. Even worse, Safe mode required my login, same with the advanced set-up (?!?!?!?!?!?!). I finally got back in, but now I need to restart cause I was messing around with the drive plugins, and my production drive is currently not active, and for a SATA Drive to show back up a restart is required. I'm currently moving off the stuff the drive will let me, I took screenshots of the rest and I have my Backblaze backup for the stuff that can't get copied over. I've had it this year with computers, hard drives specifically, wanting to shit out on me. The screwed up part? ALL 3 DRIVES ARE FROM SEAGATE. So granted, one of the drives that is failing is rather old, but I have other Western Digital Drives and Toshiba drives that are way older and still rockin. So Newegg has a 5TB Toshiba on-sale till the 6th for $135 USD, I think I'm gonna grab that. Solves the failing drive problem, and I gain an extra 500GB, but it's BS this needs to happen in the first place. Thanks for taking the time to read my rant, I appreciate it. It was cathartic.
  5. Thanks, I'll pass this on to Jason to see if he can shed any light on something that might have changed with the beta.
  6. A dumb question potentially, but the themes are still in your theme folder, correct?
  7. Of course, no problem! If you have a Windows PC you want to make in to a couch oriented media PC, then Big Box would be the way to go for the emulation portion of that set up though.
  8. Yea, I actually don't use that emulator anymore, so next weeks tutorial is going to be an update to TurboGrafx 16 and CD, I use RetroArch only now for TurboGrafx.
  9. LaunchBox and Big Box are the same install, two sides of the same coin, both requiring Windows.
  10. You don't. LaunchBox is only available for Windows and doesn't work on any other operating system at this time, sorry about that.
  11. No problems Matt, and no worries! If there is a Platform that doesn't exist, then you are more than welcome to request it on the LaunchBox Games Database BitBucket. The Issues/Requests button on the main site / forums leads to the LaunchBox BitBucket. Go to Games DB first, then click the Issues button there to be taken to that BitBucket and request your systems there. If the systems do already exist, then while you are there at the Database, you just need to make an account and click the "add game" button, and make sure to follow the Community Guidelines here on the forums. If you need any more help than please feel free to ask!
  12. Maybe I am misreading this, but you don't emulate Windows. The closest you can come is emulating DOS or Windows 3.11, but anything from Windows 98-ish onwards can be played in some form natively (some of the older stuff does have some issues though). So if you have GOG Games, windows games that you have discs for, Steam games, or other games purchased from other services you just import them. There is the Steam importer, you can use the Windows Games importer, or if you have a folder of shortcuts you can tell LaunchBox to import from that folder even (though then it will be tied to the shortcuts, I don't know if it would then be tied to the proper exe, I haven't tested this). There is a Win9x emulator in development for those pesky Windows 95/98 era games, but pretty much from then on there is no need for an emulator per se. Otherwise, I would suggest clicking the tutorials button at the top of the forums to be taken to our YouTube channel and picking a system tutorial out from the list to start with. The SNES Tutorial is a beginner friendly tutorial that explains a lot of what you need to know about LaunchBox as well, at least when it comes to importing. There are a few feature specific tutorials as well.
  13. Ah, I forgot about that Monkus. I think NeoGeo and CD is a good tutorial for tomorrow actually, I've been wanting to do it for a while.
  14. You can follow one of the MESS tutorials and plug in Neo Geo CD info, you can follow our Final Burn Alpha video, or if you'd like I can make that this weeks tutorial. I've been wanting to do a proper Neo Geo CD tutorial anyways though, so this would make me do it.
  15. That might actually be a change I made, on purpose actually. So some of you caught that, good. No, there really isn't a good solution except for alternate naming, and I can say for a fact that Database changes are coming, the deletion bug for example should actually be fixed already.
  16. It could be a lot of things, but it sounds like you've ran through most of the potential issues. Click on a platform on the left, click a game, Ctrl + A then right click -> edit to bring up the Bulk Edit wizard. Choose emulator from the drop down and choose RetroArch, this will make sure that the games are using RetroArch, in case you've been experimenting with other emulators you need to make sure they're using the proper emulator. Otherwise BIOS don't count for a lot of those systems, names match (well the proper names match? if you are using the scrape as function on any platform make sure it matches the name in LaunchBox and not the scrape as name), the command line is set properly for the core you want, did you make sure to also download the core from within RetroArch? Also, you're ok with the bad English, Google Translate is a lot more kind to your words than others I've seen.
  17. Actually no, all the games I've requested that were approved had their images removed, but the entry still existed. Surprisingly, all the Pokemon rom hacks got approved for deletion, and a few pokemon game duplicates, but the damn name changes aren't being approved. Most are on 2 approved, 2 rejected, and some even have 3 rejections. People seriously don't read the guidelines. I also love that it looks like Pokemon Green to Pocket Monsters Green will be rejected, same as changing the Pocket Monsters Green front box art from no region to Japanese. It shows Pokemon Green, but the Pocket Monsters Green box art, and it's being rejected in both the opposite way...?
  18. The deletion bug is being investigated, so it will be a matter of time before it's found out.
  19. That's because you don't have Premium for one or either of us. Like I said, you need LaunchBox Premium and EmuMovies Premium for video to be downloaded automatically through LaunchBox.
  20. To download the videos you need LaunchBox Premium and EmuMovies Premium, otherwise they need to be supplied by the user manually. If you do have video don't forget to enable them and the auto-play option; Tools -> Game Details and check the videos box, and then View -> Auto-Play Video.
  21. Of course, no problem! If you have anymore questions then please feel free to ask.
  22. Oh? That's odd then. As long as the games had full names instead of short hand names, then that was the intended goal anyways, otherwise I do believe that it is just the scraper mis-labeling games.
  23. There are themes that remove some stuff, there are also alternate views. If there isn't something available that is exactly what you want, then you can make it yourself if you'd like. As for images, you can edit a platform in LaunchBox and remove the images associated with a platform if you want.
