  1. The PS2 was technically less powerful, but so is the Saturn and look at how bad that emultion is. It isn't always about how powerful the console originally was (though that is the case early on in a consoles emulation tale, just look at PS3 emulation, a major hurdle right now is PC Power), but the PS2 chose some odd hardware that is a bit more difficult than the GameCube. The GameCube, Wii and Wii U all share the same PowerPC Architecture, in fact, the Wii is essentially two GameCube's taped together. I find that PCSX2 runs well though, just as well as Dolphin in some cases, so you could also experiment with some settings changes if you really prefer the PS2 port, but otherwise, I don't see why you should care if you use the GameCube version. If you prefer to play which ever version for what ever reason, then go with that.
  2. The folder name option is always there though. It shows up on the same screen as a few other check boxes, its one of the last screens. The screen has the box "look for PDF Files" automatically checked, it's right above that. It Savage was found as Savage Frontier, it must have just simply been an error with the scraper, but the rest I can't explain. I had a few mis-matches (DOS Seems to be really really bad for this), but I didn't have that many and AD&D wasn't one of them.
  3. Well we would rather it be quantity with quality, you can have both, but in some situations there is nothing you can do. If a game doesn't have many scans of it's material, and they're lower resolution or bad quality, there isn't anything we're gonna be able to do unless we re-scan it or find someone else who did. The only reason why Fanart has a min. size requirement, is so that it can scale nicely for 16:9 monitors. That's generally the most used resolutions, so the 720p requirement is just there to try and make sure it fits that aspect ratio. I'd rather not set a size restriction on the database at all. If someone has a real scanned box art, and uploads it, and there aren't many if any alternatives then we shouldn't deny it at all. If someone later then re-makes it, then the reconstructed box art can then go in to the reconstructed portion of the images, and then we would have both.
  4. I wouldn't call it false advertising, we're emulation focused around here so of course that is a level of quality anyone could achieve given the right settings and computer. Otherwise, no there isn't a size restriction. The Database doesn't have one, so if you want to upload a 5000x5000 reconstructed box art, or you can only find a 200x100 clear logo cause a better one may not exist, then go for it. If a better something or other gets found later, it can always be edited and replaced. I also appreciate you taking the time to read the Guidelines, there has been a lot of confusion from both sides regarding that recently, so thank you.
  5. It's not hanging as much as it's just taking a while to search each category for 4k items, so obviously 100 goes faster. If their server is under a load or you have a slower connection too, this also wont help.
  6. I kept them separate, but I never imported the Windows 3.0 stuff, there isn't even a platform for it, let alone any metadata or media. I don't use the Wikipedia search anymore, I had way too many issues, just the LB Games Database and EmuMovies. Not every game gets found or even has media, but it's better than empty.
  7. Well, it's not going to be exact, but can you assign the exe to the fpt? So double clicking fpt file extensions launches Future Pinball? Or, you can add the exe as an emulator, import all the fpt file extensioned files, and add /open /play /exit to the default command line parameters box? I haven't actually done this, I am actually guessing here, but after several years of using LaunchBox, that's my educated guess.
  8. Well, if this is what is putting you over the ledge to buy Premium, I feel I must clarify that it is all up to @eXo who isn't working on this full time, so while we certainly appreciate the love and purchase, I do want to throw out there that there is no time frame on anything. The biggest thing, to be honest, is getting the conf files properly assigned. I am not worried about the images, because they can be plugged in very easily in to the proper location by a simple copy and paste. We'd also, obviously, also would want to get our database images up to par as well. So really, I can just take all the front box art, drop it in to the Images/DOS/Front Box Art/ folder and be done with it; the names of the images just need to match the games and a simple cache refresh makes them all appear. I do appreciate the hard work though, something like this could be very helpful in the meantime.
  9. These are great @polygonslayer and @Pietro! By upload to the site though, I think I was referring to the actual downloads section on the forums. Obviously a thread works, but them being uploaded to our server can also ensure there are backups of everything as well as potentially LaunchBox integration in the metadata and media downloader. Click the Downloads button at the top and upload to the proper category.
  10. If your arcade stick is just emulating a keyboard, then open it's program and change the stick buttons to what RetroArch automatically utilizes, otherwise it's as simple as going to the option in RetroArch, select the option then pressing the button you want. Utilizing custom configs per platform will allow you to swap control schemes automatically when you load the platform.
  11. I never said it was, I know what you're talking about (if you read earlier in the thread I said the run as / run with option), but in light of not having anything if it's 1 or 2 games then it's really not a big deal with how it's set up.
  12. I also didn't mention this in that post, but eXo is working on his collection working directly in LaunchBox. He wants to move on from MEAGRE.
  13. Those are awesome clear logo's. You should upload them to our downloads section.
  14. If you have a few games that need a different emulator, you can just edit the entry and select a different emulator for that game.
  15. It actually doesn't happen all that often anymore, if someone tries to remove a platform, it will ask them if they want to remove the games as well, explaining why. You're welcome!
  16. When you open Big Box, is that where it defaults to? If so, it's probably nothing actually. You might have accidentally removed the platform for some games, but didn't remove the games, so now they're still there under no Platform. Open LaunchBox, go to Tools -> Manage Platforms, and it might be in there for you to remove (I can't remember). I had this "no platform" too recently, and I can't remember exactly how I removed it.
  17. Why aren't you just using the controller input options and editing your controls in there? Don't need to mess with the cfg manually at all.
  18. N/A I think means it's not assigned to a controller input, and the Z means it's assigned to the Z button on the keyboard. It's the B, or back button for the UI, where as X is A, or the "forward" button in the UI.
  19. That's odd, they do automatically config. 360, Xbox One, PS3 and PS4. For the most part I think it's based on the drivers. The only thing you might have to do is select the controller in the input 1 menu.
  20. The RetroArch.cfg is the config you're looking for. You can also use custom configs and load them on demand per core (the -C command in the Associated Platforms tab), I have several cores set up with custom configs. Don't forget that there is also a default option in that same settings menu you're in, just in case.
  21. The manual method would be to download a clear logo pack, open up your ../LaunchBox/Images/Wii Ware/Clear Logo/ folder, and drop the images in. As long as the names of the images match the name of the games inside of LaunchBox, then they will automatically be attached when you refresh the cache.
  22. You can either open up your LaunchBox folder, then the corresponding folders (like images or music), then go in to each platform from there and mess around with it there, or go to Tools -> Manage Platforms, and open up a platform you have. You can change paths (it becomes a really big headache if you need to change anything later, so I would honestly keep the paths at default), but also add as many custom images to each platform as you like. Game Music can be downloaded from EmuMovies, but for games that don't get found you can either drop the song in to the LaunchBox/Music folder (in the appropriate console folder as well), and the song just needs to match the name of the game, either the rom file name or the name of the game inside of LaunchBox. Restarting LB should do the trick to make them start playing. You can also edit a game like normal within LaunchBox, go to the Other tab, and you can select the music from the music path (the tabs are about half way down that window).
