MAME is using either 0.174 or 0.175 in LaunchBox I've mentioned it a few times and there has been a few other request for an update but seems like its not a real concern and hasn't been addressed yet. You of course can add any games you want manually by using the add button in the bottom right of the LB interface (assuming you have the bottom bar view showing).

yeah this has been brought to our attention just today and I'm sure that Jason will be working on something to fix it reasonably soon so sorry you feel something that was overlooked as "lame".

Okay for MAME once you add your ROMs even if you get the newest set with new playable games they won't be added to LB because LB is still using the data from 0.174 or 0.175 so if it didn't import or merge it on original import it isn't going to change anything. I don't think the program can scan for new ROMs and make them additional apps although that would be a nice feature for certain use cases. Also the scan for ROMs feature by default looks into for ROMs in the LB Games folder under the appropriate platform so if your games aren't imported into those folders it won't find anything at all if your games aren't in the default folder you have to go to Tools manage platforms edit the platform and then go to the folder tab and change the game path for the platform. Sorry if a few of these things aren't directly about your question and more about how additional apps work. If you already know these things then I apologize for the explanation.

I'm sure that @Jason Carrwill be interested in adding a Greek translation. I've tagged him in this post so I'm sure he will get back with you on how to go about doing so.

Okay did you import your ROMs into the LB games folder? If so you have to point MAME to that folder as it is set by default to look inside the ROMs folder in you MAME root folder. You can change the directory either through the UI or by opening the program and going into configure options then configure directories

Well at this point if you just got the MAME set from PD like you were advised you wouldn't have issues.

It sounds like you have a multi part rom pack and don't have all the needed files when you extract them

The tutorial will get you running MAME and it really doesn't have to be NeoGeo specific as all the Arcade ROMs basically work the same as long as there are no CHD's which there are none for NeoGeo

emulators would be fine ROM sets are off limits.

go to LB folder and go in your update folders run the latest update again it will reinstall over your current one without effecting any of your data or settings if it crashes again and you experience the same thing then repeat except this time instead of the latest update run the update prior to it.

Good example of how things are subjective and people shouldn't label them with absolutes.

go to a platform and click a game then hit ctrl+a to highlight all games then hit ctl+e to open the bulk editor then change the emulator to rocketlauncher you can do this for each platform whose emulator you want to change to RocketLauncher. lol didn't get a notification that someone else had answered this.

all your arcade games should be in a platform called Arcade it should contain all the games from the playlist also

It really doesn't get easier than that it could get easier than that but my statement was as things stand at this moment. I don't disagree that being able to choose a file extension would make it easier and quicker its just I'm not overly worried about being thrifty with mouse movements and clicks since they don't really have much cost. Maybe Jason will improve this but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it to happen. I suggest if you want to see this happen make a bitbucket post for a feature improvement and see if you can get others to show interest in it, then it might catch Jason's attention.

yeah the best way to do that for multi file games is to place the roms in the LB games folder in its appropriately named folder. Then open file explorer in Windows and navigate to the folder you want to import from the type in the file extension you want *".cue" and it will list only your cue files then you drag and drop all of the .cues on to LB and it will start the import wizard. It really doesn't get any easier than that.

There is 1 maybe 2 portrait themes available in BigBox so if you have been watching any videos and seeing how BB looks most of the themes you might have seen aren't going to look like that on your monitor in that screen orientation.

If your folders are all there then your data is still all there can you copy and paste the error message you are getting as it can help us figure out what is going on.

you can use ctrl+left click to choose multiple games and then go to tools and there are options to import media but there is a good chance that if it didn't find it on the initial bulk import it may not find it again in a bulk edit but it might be worth trying.
