If you update your set there isn't really any reason to update LB the data that LB uses for MAME is outdated I believe like 174 or 175 so any newly working games in MAME won't get imported anyway since LB won't recognize them as working. If you come across a game that isn't working that used to work due to the ROM name changing just go and edit the game and change it to the new rom name. If you don't overwrite your old set in the same folder you will have to use the feature in LB to change the ROMs location to the new folder for LB to find the ROMs.

Okay there are 2 Phoenix's one that was RetroArch based and one that is a multi system emulator for 3DO Jaguar and a few other that is supposedly the best emulator for Jaguar and 3DO which is what OP is referencing as far as I know though no one has figured out how to get it to work with LB

yeah there is an issue with the api key Jason is looking into getting it fixed. It was discussed in another thread yesterday but I don't have a link to it.

CHD set only come in merged flavor and yes it will work with any of the rom sets (merged nonmerged or split) Software list are for computers and consoles like monkus said but if you have other roms not in the MAME format for those as long as you aren't trying to load them through the MAME UI then they will work. For some reason using the UI requires the ROMs MAME is looking for but using the command line doesn't.

Not much experience with this but can't you just rename a cfg and then use the commandline for your custom named cfg

LB only launches the emulator and has no clue how long you have been playing the emulator so its been said to be next to impossible to implement.

People keep asking for RL features and they keep getting rebuffed but you guys keep asking can't you take the hint. I mean I don't want to put words in Jason's mouth but it seems apparent he doesn't want to add any code that is injected into the emulators. I don't want to be a dick to anyone but it just seems futile to me.

Got this working on my 2007 Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop seems like a good option for low spec systems

I'm talking about PC's that couldn't handle the Mednafen core if it allows you to play PS1 games what could be bad about it?

yeah I'm pretty sure if a core doesn't work on a system it won't be available on the online updater so PCSXrearmed should work in Windows. I've personally never used it and I wonder how it performs on low spec systems that could never hope to push the mednafen core

LB may be able to but my issue when trying this came mostly with emulators. I had issues with controllers not working but it was a while ago I think before I used RetroArch so I may be wrong

You can use ROMs off of the network but you need a localized setup of LB and emulators

Nothing is dependent on the drop down you can type in anything you want.

I believe (but haven't tested) that if you add the clone name without the zip to the additional app for a specific game and have the don't use file extension checkbox checked in the emulator settings you can launch the clone without needing to copy paste or change the name of any of your zips.

I'll have to check that out too I've tried in the past to get the core to work but couldn't figure it out.

That is probably in your screenshot folder and those you should be able to just delete

These are hardcode and always replaced to get rid of them you have to delete them and add dummy .txt files named after the platform and then edit the file extension to be either .jpg or .png.

you can also open File Explorer in Windows and type in the search box for the region you want using what ever tag it has and import only those games that fit the criteria or alternatively use can use that to find the files that you want to remove and either delete them or move them to their own folder

Do you have the use all controllers check box checked in the LB options beyond that I don't know what you would do to get it to work.

I just go into the folder in Windows and in the search bar and type *'[J]" and it should return all the Japanese games. replace [J] with whatever region tag No Intro is using.
