  1. You can download a non-merged set then delete everything except the 500 games and it should be pretty small. Or you can download the non-merged set and run it against the All Killer No Filler bat file and see how many of your 500 games are included in that. LB is designed to be a front end not the be all end all file manager for your ROMs somethings if you want done in a custom way you have to do it yourself.
  2. I don't know how you would go about that easily. You would basically need to lookup from somewhere the 500 ROMs you have and see what files they require to work.
  3. If you have a full MAME set its of 36K games but LB only imports around 2800 games due to them being working or other parameters that you choose not to import. Anyway if you only deleted 1300 games there are still around 35K ROMs in your folder. This all assumes that you have a full set if not ignore everything I've said. Also you should be careful about deleting things from MAME unless you have a non-merged set. Some files are dependent on other files and if you delete the wrong thing then the game will stop working. Deleting working games that LB imported is most likely safe to do but just deleting things not imported from the ROMs folder can cause you lots of problems.
  4. yeah I've never had that issue with Windows changing my Displays numbering on restart and I no longer have a multiple monitor setup in action so can't test to see if anything like that has changed or not.
  5. if he is getting a corrupted settings error I'm assuming he can't start the program so it had to be closed. If it isn't recreating the file that is not normal. I would try installing LB to a new folder then copy of your data folder and start the program if it shows your games then close it and copy over your images manuals videos and other relevant folders.
  6. just delete it and restart the program it will make a new settings.xml.
  7. by default MAME expects the CHD in the format that Neil showed you to be inside the ROMs folder. I personally things the ROMs folder is already over crowded so I keep those files in their own CHD folder and then just point MAME to that secondary location in the mame.ini file.
  8. does everyone realize they are responding to a post from 2015?

    Video Capture

You can not share them with the LBDB because it doesn't host video recordings of games. You could contact @circoand discuss making contributions over at EmuMoives.

    Registry Key

in the help and support section of the forums is license support. I believe you just put your email in and it will send you a new one. EDIT looks like it just sends the email to support for you.
  11. for future reference usually with in a week of the release MAME should be updated even when it isn't Christmas the program isn't updated within 24 hours of the version release.
  12. when you were 1st there were you logged into the site if not then that is why they weren't available to you.
  13. There is a setting under tools options that lets you delete games from you hard drive but if you haven't checked that particular box in the settings then it is just permanently deleting it from LB
  14. I'm confused as to what core it would be looking for that is no longer available. If its looking for something with Mednafen that would be the same as the beetle core in the online updater and they work interchangeably. The Mednafen devs asked them to change the name and they did in the online updater but I believe the core that is downloaded will actually still be named mednafen.
  15. you can look in the backups folder and see if there is a settings backup in there but you can also just delete the settings xml and LB will generate a brand new one you will have to set any settings you changed from the default again but this won't change anything that you imported into LB or mess with any of your media simply the settings in LB.
  16. There is no official support for Software Lists in LB at this point however one of the great community members here @JoeViking245has created a plugin that does just that it can be found here on the forum in the download section. I'll link it below.
  17. To be honest I thought it was better when the DB didn't allow hacks at all but since I don't put in work on it I guess I can't complain.
  18. if you were to name the games folder to same thing as the name in the command you could place them all in one folder and point MAME to the top level folder instead of needing to specify every system you want to emulate. All my cart and floppy systems are in the Software LIst folder and all CD systems are in the SWL CHD folder
  19. Instead of maybe giving you the wrong answer I will instead just tag @Jason Carrand he can give you the 100% correct answer when he sees this thread.
  20. https://forums.launchbox-app.com/profile/70701-opak/?wr=eyJhcHAiOiJmb3J1bXMiLCJtb2R1bGUiOiJmb3J1bXMtY29tbWVudCIsImlkXzEiOjI4Njg0LCJpZF8yIjozMjg3NTZ9 you could try PMing Opak he is the guy that does the German translation and you could discuss with him directly what you think is incorrect
  21. yes and even then Windows 7 support for LB may only work for a limited time due to it approaching EOL.
  22. What country are you in?
