  1. can you include some screenshots of how you have it set up
  2. In the past when I have gotten that it is because LB is still running in the background while trying to update usually waiting a little used to fix it but I haven't had that happen in a while. If worst comes to worst you can try doing a fresh install of LB to a new folder and then copying your Data, Images, Manuals, Music and Video folders plus any setting files from the root directory to your new build. Games folder to if you keep your Games within LB.
  3. 1 it is possible and the only way it could be overwritten is if you instruct LB to download media in bulk and replace what you already have then it would be overwritten but if you instruct it to download missing media withour replacing anything you already have it shouldn't of course any media you get that doesn't come directly from LB should have backed up just to be safe anyway. 2 LB I believe only does accept .pdf for manuals 3 If there are they aren't from LB or hosted anywhere that LB can download them from 4 No currently LB can't access Manuals from in game so if you were to create them and keep them in the manual section you would still have the same limitations
  4. Yeah I'm pretty sure that its supposed to work the way you are saying. I was only inquiring about what type of set you have since with my split set I didn't have this issue and I wanted to see if maybe its only an issue with merged sets.
  5. is this with a Merged set by chance?
  6. on consideration it may work from there but I've never tried that.
  7. No it gets added to the MAME.ini file that is located in the MAME folder.
  8. you have to set it in the MAME.ini info can be found here https://docs.mamedev.org/_files/MAME.pdf
  9. well when I say pulled and accessed I mean if I had an issue I could remove the drive from the server and physically plug it in to another PC. I'm using Windows Server 2016 for the OS and that allows you to easily create shared folders which once you enter the user credentials from the server on the client allows you to easily access the folders so it does work over my network for all clients but doesn't really take much in depth knowledge of networking. then for video and audio I use Plex and Subsonic servers so most of the work is done for you by those applications
  10. I really don't know how this works but since the key is just a xml file and isn't put into registry I doubt that would even work.
  11. It also only sets up a single folder on each drive that contains the pool itself and all drives are still in ntfs and can be pulled and accessed from any computer.
  12. yeah that is my server itself. Disk J is a virtual pool using StableBit DrivePool where all the contents of all those drives except C are seen as one drive. It also sets up two copies of each file on a different HDD
  13. Actually the oldest ones are WD greens
  14. yeah I have my externals constantly plugged in some have been running for over 7 years at this point.
  15. NAS just mean networked attached storage so if your NAS is a windows PC with the files accessible over the network it should be able to be backed up. I personally use Windows Server 2016 for my NAS so I couldn't use Backblaze home backup although I definitely don't use the server for any type of business purposes.
  16. are your ROMs in the MAME ROMs folder and if not did you edit the MAME.ini file to point to your folder location
  17. was wrong on the system name but -cdrm and -cdrom both work
  18. you can just use MAME itself you need to put in a associated platform for it under MAME and add the command neogeocd -cdrom
  19. The new import method uses the MAMExml to pull games so anything marked as working by MAME will be pulled regardless and the new method isn't aware of what files you actually have on hand so I would say the only way to hide them would be to manually do so.
  20. Yes there are music options but I don't use them so know very little on the details of how they work.
  21. Just to add the info you got is old and outdated the videos no longer have to be named start up they can be named anything and as long as they are in the Launchbox\video\startup folder you can place as many as you want in there and it will play them randomly.
  22. Launchbox.xml is old and deprecated definitely you should delete that
  23. also we do allow naming of ROM sites now just no linking as to where you can get no intro I'm not sure now that Pleasuredome took theirs down maybe Archive.org has them
  24. I've thought they should break out genres in the download for MAME also but then thought the reason they don't do that is because then no one would be downloading them so they make sure that all the files are getting distributed by keeping them all in the same pack.
