Very strange, I went to generate a new non expiring invite and it's exactly the same as the one posted above and that's even the exact same as the one originally posted by Brad. Just tested the invite with another person and it worked for him.

Set all your base settings in the UI or the ini file and just use the command line genesis -cart I don't use Mess or Mame for many consoles but I do have some setup and I just use a separate install of Mame just for consoles (personal organizational reasons) and set all my settings in the mame.ini file. This works really well for me and just my personal opinion here but I would recommend using Retroarch for the main line popular 8,16 and 32 bit consoles, these cores a better than the current state of Mame console emulation.

This isn't an either / or situation. Right now Launchbox Next is just there as a preview and testing but eventually it will replace the regular Launchbox with all the functionality it always had as well as the new features that are coming.

BigBox has it's own controller automation options, set it up in BigBox mode as well.

Then it means there's an incompatibility with your roms and the core. Unfortunately the only thing I can suggest to you is to get another set of roms.

Without sitting in front of your computer to look at certain things it could be several different things causing problems. It could be a virus. It could be that you have a bitcoin mining malware on your system causing problems. It could be some other software causing a conflict.

The multiple emulators is probably the easiest but would require more drive space. But yeah both methods are less than desirable.

Retroarch for several reasons: 1. Launches seamlessly. 2. Less clutter in your emulators window in LB. 3. Doesn't require any funky extras like AHK scripts to work properly. 4. Has the best emulation for the main 8, 16 and 32 bit consoles. There are so many reason to use it I could keep going on with other reasons but I won't, it's just so good for so many reasons that to me it makes no sense to use other emulators unless the Retroarch core itself has a significant flaw or the stand alone version has something extremely significant making it better than the relevant core.

Yeah it appears to be a Windows 7 thing. I just updated my HTPC Launchbox to the latest beta and I get the same large Retroarch icon in the right click menu.

Retroarch and the FBA core does not require CHD files, mine work just fine without them. To load them in Retroarch itself you will want to load RA > Load Core > Load Content and browse to your CPS3 rom folder and load a rom zip to test, sfiii3.zip for example.

Do your games work in Retroarch on its own outside of Launchbox ? Also just a quick tip, you don't need to have a separate emulator entry for CPS 3, you can use the one install of Retroarch for a whole bunch of systems. Just setup each platform and command line in the Associated Platforms window. Another tip, using -c to load a config is no longer necessary since you can easily set per core and per game over rides within Retroarch now.

No it's fine to ask and hopefully you get help here from the users like @DOS76. Just wanted to let you know that it was a Windows and .NET issue so it narrowed down the scope of the problem for troubleshooting.
