  1. ok i didn't pick up on the filename being the rom filename. SORRY! haha. That did it! WOW. Thanks! That's a perfect way around it. I appreciate your patience with me! @thefritz11@mattirawks use this new default.xml I attached for this theme in order to have Launchbox look for an image in the \Custom Startup Images folder that is named after your ROM filename. A useful utility to help rename your images to rom names is a program called FuzzyRename Default.xaml
  2. LaunchBox\Images\Custom Startup Images\Sega 32X\Pitfall_The Mayan Adventure.png SelectedGame.Title, changed to SelectedGame.ApplicationFileNameWithoutExtension startup theme still shows a black screen when launching that game. In fact, it broke the entire theme, and all games, regardless of the colon/underscore filename format, no longer show the custom images named exactly the same as the game title. That's wild. How about database ID stuff? Can we get this theme xml to tell launchbox to look for the database id number then? vs. the game name title, which it apparently just cannot see when looking through this theme lol.
  3. Yes, that is why this is so perplexing, because I have the file's named as their literal title. (Pitfall_The Mayan Adventure.png). I changed those lines, but now it shows the box art stretched to fill the entire screen. The point of this theme is to pull from a specific folder, so we can put specific startup images that we've made in there, outside of the normal launchbox directories for images. Maybe this is a larger issue with launchbox not being able to see the underscore file names as it usually does because it is looking through a theme's eyes? I can show video proof of the images being named exactly as you say launchbox requires, and then launching with a black screen when trying to pull from the specific folder specified in this startup theme, then launching with the correct image when the game name doesn't involve a colon being replaced by an underscore. Or maybe there's an option/value that could be added to launchbox's xml viewing capabilities and folder structure that allows for a new folder within each platform titled say, "Custom Startup Image". so that way you could use the following code line: <Image Source="{Binding Path=ActiveGame.CustomStartupImage}" /> , and launchbox would look in a folder it knows to be default and maybe have an easier time locating images?
  4. Yes, these images were made with the community theme creator, using the fanart background images downloaded in launchbox. The game does have a launchbox db id present within launchbox (9079). I just tried it as you described (Pitfall_ The Mayan Adventure.png), and it was still a black screen for the startup screen. I've tried the romname, the launchbox name with a dash, the launchbox name with the underscore now, and also the launchbox id number. Always shows a black screen. But all the other games for this platform (Sega 32X), the first one I'm trying this startup theme out on, work, as long as they are a game image file that doesn't involve a broken up name with any character. So games like "After Burner", and "Mortal Kombat II" with the image name of "After burner.png", and "Mortal Kombat II.png", work. I'm thinking that if someone could just edit the config xml to be able to reference and handle games with the underscore, or a dash for two-part names that would be amazing. @JoeViking245any ideas? or know of anyone I could contact that might be able to make this start up theme match these types of titles better?
  5. Can someone work on this simple startup theme to fix the broken image lookup when a game title has a dash like this: Pitfall - The Mayan Adventure. I've noticed any game that has a dash in the image file just shows a black screen. But image file names that are just one or two words not separated by a dash, load up just fine. Could someone edit this to maybe just match with the normal launchbox image file names or database id #'s that the CTC exports images as?
  6. Thanks. I will wipe the tears from my eyes, drink some kiefer, compose myself, and look much harder next time. Lol.
  7. It would be great if we could also edit the delay length of the startup screen in the bulk edit window
  8. Thank you for this! I'm using a mix of Rocketlauncher fade screens, and Launchbox start up screens in my build. Using the community theme creator, I'm making my own custom fade images that contain fanart/screenshot as a background, clear logo of game, platform clear logo, and cartridge/disc. With Rocketlauncher it was easy to have a static image just show up, but not with most of the start up themes here. Is there any chance you could maybe add an option to have an extra layer of a "Now loading" image put on top of the startup image centered and with a "wipe-right" animate run once? Even without that, this adds unity to my build for the fade/startup screens, so THANK YOU! EDIT: Some game images absolutely will not show, whether they are named as launchbox names them, or as the rom is named. Seems to be happening with games that have "the" at the beginning of the name, but launchbox image files do like library style filenames. Example: Amazing Spider-Man, The. Or, Pitfall, The - Mayan Adventure. No matter what the image file is named, there is a black screen. Like @thefritz11 asked, maybe it could work better if it also fell back on the launchbox database ID for images as well? that way, if we are using the community theme creator, we can export those specific games using the database ID number.
  9. Hey, I'm still on my break after the Sega master system front box art! And even then, I still have to do a set with the spines lol. Nice try! Although, I suppose if the platform video snaps DO exist,...it wouldn't be THAT difficult to throw them behind one of these screens and render a video. Hmmmmmmm.
  10. So is anyone taking this amazing work and making platform videos using the assets?
  11. Would the Nintendo Wii Theme also work as a Nintendo WiiWare theme?
  12. This is pretty awesome! I still don't know which versions to try to find though lol. I don't know which out of all the F-Zero entries is the "Deluxe Hack", and also have no idea which of the Zelda entries is the "combined and translated" hack. Help please lol.
  13. Right. So I'm curious if I get into the patreon if there will be pause stuff for all the systems like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_vfvocbiUY ya know, artwork like controller, guide, maps, videos, etc. for all the systems. Or for most of the most common systems at least.
  14. Hey, so I have all my own fades and pause menu stuff set up how I like it. However, I was curious if you simply have all the other extra media in the rocketlauncher media folders like controller images, video ads, guides, maps, pdf manuals, and any other artwork/ media that you can look through while in pause? Is just that available via your patreon, and not the actual pause menu layout artwork stuff?
  15. it's pretty complete though compared to most pause media setups lol. Yup, I get the putting in a lot of time. I've spent years and years on each artwork set i've done, going back to the hyperspin days. Most recent was a 2D reconstruction of all Sega Master System Boxes, and a full re-do of a GBA set. Complete with a bunch of boxes I bought off ebay to finally have good scans of them, since I couldn't ever find any online. You can be stingy, a lot of people are here. But, it would just be nice if people weren't lol. Because it does really improve the overall community and helps every setup to be more complete and fun. oh well, moving on!
  16. Yeah, but I mean all those controller images, device images, the video adverts, maps, guides, etc., etc. Surely someone has a large, or close to full set of all of those pieces of artwork inside their RL Media Folder.
  17. Because their download links don't just directly link to a zip file of the media folder lol. I'm interested in stuff people are willing to share for the betterment of the entire emulation community. I do it, other people do it. We all benefit.
  18. when i have too much to post in the official downloads section I just have a link to my mega.nz drive. Or you could also put it on the internet archive. A lot of artwork (raw scan collections), roms, and all sorts of setups are on there. Like I said, just need someone who has all of that stuff in it's proper place to zip up their media folder and post it up. Then we can all have that killer pause menu content without having to spend a year to get it all sorted lol.
  19. Well, there's a huge point for me! lol I can't fathom leaving Rocketlauncher because of the 2 or 3 features that it just does phenomenally over launchbox. It's been years and years, and while we've gone strides in LB, it just isn't there yet. So I'd love the entire folder strucure of all that type of media to put in my rocketlauncher. I've only ever just done the simple fades. Never really delved into the true robustness of all the other media that can be there. But disseminating it from all the various sources, and trying to manually get it all in there is a daunting task. Surely someone has a personal setup that has most of the media for most of the systems like in that video you linked to, all ready to go. I mean, just right click on the media folder and zip it up ya know lol.
  20. I really wish someone would release a huge download of just the folder structure from their Rocketlauncher media folder as one huge download (internet archive?) that you could unzip and it would put all those assets, controller images, manuals, etc., etc., into the folders correctly. Only thing I would change for my personal taste is just to keep all the fonts more or less the default fonts, and no graphics like the mario next to the menu selection text. Other than that, all the media there to look at is phenomenal. It just really needs to be in one zip file on internet archive or something, so we can all benefit from the correct folder contents and structure already being set. Also, for some reason my RL will not show me a controller menu item with a controller image in there. Even though i've turned on that option to show that menu in RLUI. weird.
  21. There's a lot that they pack in their pause menu. how to play docs, overworld map images, controller layout images, control panel images for arcade games, and their save and load states let you use the emulators full available slots (1-9 as an example) vs. launchbox just letting you save in one slot. It also takes a screenshot of the emulator window when you save the game, so that you can see visually where you were when you load it. There's all sorts of cool things you can have in RL's pause menu. It's just painstaking to get all the media in there. There are some packs out there. But it's a lot of organization to have it fully operational. It's basically like organizing an entire frontend again lol. But the results can be pretty awesome.
  22. I know it can't do it as cinematic as yours. But RL has a spot for world maps at least.
  23. He's probably thinking of pause menu items that rocketlancher has, and seeing them presented in that way. It's a way more robust pause menu.
  24. did you have the theme creator fill in all the developer information and esrb stuff? or is that font and other images part of your rocketlauncher setup? Could you give a rundown of which elements you have coming from RL, and which were placed by the theme creator?
