This works pretty good. Only thing that I noticed in mine is that even with adding a number to the front (02 - Nintendo consoles), It seemed to sort alphabetically for the most part within that title, but then for some reason Nintendo Wii is at the beginning of the list. But you would assume Nintendo Wii would be towards the end.

I tried kodi once and could never get it to even show boxart. It was not intuitive to me anyways. I gave up. It looked great though from what I saw on everyone's setups.

That is a low blow!....but 'tis true.

i think video game enthusiasts are in a unique position to be the "underground archivists" so to speak, of this industry's offerings. Since corporations rarely actually care about their products longer than 5 years after release, it is really up to us to somehow make sure these games are all preserved since they really won't do it, or make their content available for institutions (museums or archives) to obtain outside of actually hunting down every physical copy of something ever released. Which sort of happens, but of course it's an amazing undertaking. Here the underground comes in, and hobbyists have successfully kept very large pieces of history alive far past their initial lifespans. I think that is really important, so in that respect I don't frown upon how this hobby obtains its cultural artifacts ;-)

Are the creators of these saving all the PSD files just in case? So maybe if someone really wants a different font or something, they can just pop the file open and tweak something a bit to their liking.

Awesome! Excited about that. I know it sounds like complaining, but it's just the flow I feel when navigating, and it feels a bit off to me in certain situations like platform specific playlists. I like the playlist screen for my other lists though.

Now that the platform lists are in bigbox, I still find myself wanting a sidebar that slides over whatever platform I'm within at the moment, and shows all playlists I've made for that system. Might not work for playlists that span across multiple platforms maybe. But for most playlists that just stick to a platform, especiall Arcade, it would be cool to have an option to slide the playlists for that platform above the platform itself instead if going to a separate "platform" screen that is just like the main menu you boot up into.

Yeah i'm sure i've asked for it as well, gotta have a hotkey/controller button mappable for playlists. Also, would like some tutorials on new features when they come out, instead of rummaging through the options never knowing where it is buried. Like, how do we add a game to a playlist within BigBox?

Wouldn't you have to name it like 01-platform, 02-platform then? so it would be in the specific order you want? Is this limitation because of the random way in which launchbox writes it's xml files? I remember when I first jumped over to LB, and opened the xml file thinking I could change the order of things, but saw completely non-alphabetical entries for the games, and they were in no particular order. Figured LB knows how to display them, oh well. It's just a minor thing, I don't really notice it a lot, other than I have to go through all of a certain manufacturer, like nintendo, to get to the next platform, when normally it would be consoles, then handhelds, so I'd only have to go through some of nintendo, to get to sega for example, because all the consoles are there in alphabetical order, then comes the handhelds.

Same thing here. But with databases from the Hyperspin xml files. Even with the new playlist feature, I can't seem to just tick a box like it was in filters, and get all of the games under Arcade, from a certain developer. I have typed the name in the search, but I never get the same amount of games show up in Launchbox as I have in my HS databases. Unless you can add to a playlist in the audit feature? Maybe that would be a decent solution. But still, so much easier to just import an already finished database and have it match the game names from that and import those into a playlist, or a platform if you are doing a first import.

Yeah I'd really just like a simple filters list like this. I wouldn't care about platform lists at all, maybe nested would be cool, for another sidebar to slide in slightly to the right, but the basic filters list would be great there for me personally. Would just totally complete the setup for me. Hell, i'd pay extra just to have that! lol. I need it!

I'd love to be able to access my filters in bigbox with a keypress/controller button and have a sidebar slide over, select filter, sidebar slide away, filtered games displayed on wheel. Made a little mockup in photoshop.

oh yeah I'm sure you have them, just busy, and since it does more for you to have them in, probably won't ever happen. Which is totally understandable. I just really want to use them, but that messes with my eyes and head lol, and then becomes something that drives me insane. Sort of like the original cityhunter background video, it just disoriented me due to its speed, so i found the original and slowed it down with a few other scenes and fades, and it works better for my setup. I love the CityHunter them though, I think it's probably THE best one made so far for BB. Your style of artwork is getting up there too.

Damn too bad. Project files are nice to have in case of little tweaks like that. But it's always up to the content creator. They are still really nice though!

ok cool that worked better. 2643 out of 10667 games. Is that saying out of an amount from the LB games database or something?

ohhh my emulator is rocketlauncher. I'll add a mame emultor and try that import just to get the games in. Can i change it back to rocketlauncher after import?

As in, make a platform called mame? and import under that? I don't see a "mame importer"

I only have 8,000 roms in my rom folder, but for some reason Launchbox has imported 15,000+ games once i imported the directory. Auditing is taking forever, and it somehow found a bunch of casino and fruit machine games, even though I had deleted them all with some rom directory xml delete program, forget what it was called. Can we please get an xml import tool that can take don'stools generated xmls and match that to the appropriate roms in our rom folder? I've only been trying to delete like 30 games at a time in the audit and its taking like 5 minutes each time.
