I'm wondering if there is a section of an xaml where you can adjust the clear logo "wheel" image size? I threw in some of crylen's bordered logos and they are resized too small, but I have no idea where to go to find clear logo size adjustments.
-
yeah i wouldn't really care about overlap much. At least would like to get them sort of close to each other. I took a look at some of the xaml files that i thought might be related but there's no use, I don't know the first place to look. It's not very straightforward. Oh well. Maybe someday that will be another feature. Clear logo sizes. "actual size" , "small" , "medium" .

yeah the clicking is annoying on attract mode. I don't mind it during normal browsing, but there should be an option to disable clicking noise on attract mode, maybe until it selects the last one. Storing the last three selections sound like a good idea as well.

Is there an option for cabinet artwork in the arcade platform? That would be cool.

Is there an option to have the clear logos NOT be shrinked in BigBox? I am trying to use Crylen's bordered wheels. They look like crap being resized so small in the BibBox Wheel. If it could be a little bigger so they are not so far apart from each other that would be nice.

Wow sounds like some awesome progress. Kudos! I'm curious, will there ever be options for platform themes that do not involve hard-coded videos? such as just having a place users can put an overlay image on top of the video, so it looks like it's playing inside of whatever is on top? That seems to offer more flexibility than all these hard-coded videos.

Highlighted version of wheel Logo?
damageinc86 replied to damageinc86's topic in Big Box Custom Themes
Oh yeah I can see it. Pretty good, just that you can see the hard line as the wheel comes up to being a more saturated one. And yes it's a workaround, just thought I'd bring it up though, because you never know. It took months before anyone addressed the sluggish wheel, and now adjusting that speed is a standard option. -
Nice, might take a look at it when they release the next stable.

I will keep checking up on retroarch, because I'm hoping for the day when it recognizes all of the controllers I have plugged in. So far in all versions, it only shows the 1st xbox360 controller as being mappable, even though half of the controllers pop up on the yellow text saying they are plugged in. How many different controllers were you able to map?

Highlighted version of wheel Logo?
damageinc86 replied to damageinc86's topic in Big Box Custom Themes
hmmm could you upload a video of this in action perhaps? It would be nice to not have to do a workaround though, and just have an option to tick for "highlight selected wheel with clear logos from Launchbox\platform\bla bla\" for example. -
Ok so there are at least some filtering options. That's cool. Is there any way to get the exact games that one already has in their xml file? Or, in those filters, is there the ability to filter by manufacturer? and do not show clones? Maybe I should just go through it and see lol.

I meant a gray area of charging for artwork that was designed to be free, and also already within the other gray area of copyrighted work. It is a weird scenario we all find ourselves in. I still don't see why all this other artwork is on a Movies FTP. But the fact remains, paying monthly costs for an ftp server alone must warrant some type of membership service shouldn't it?

I almost spent a year's time helping to finish a full wheel set in Hyperspin for a theme called "HyperMamu" where a member by the name of EvilDindon put mamu's icons next to the wheel, and did a cool highlighting trick that put a red "highlighted" version of the original "grayed out" wheel, on top of it once you had it selected. I think it was a really cool idea to highlight the game that you are on with a separate image fade on top of the first image. Would that be an option that might be of some interest to include?

Arcade is the only "platform" I haven't added to my Launchbox setup. Coming from Hyperspin, where I used don's xml tool to create all my arcade databases, I'm curious how the import process is for arcade? It took many hours to get my xml lists just how I wanted them in Hyperspin, so that's why i'm procrastinating on that. Do you really just look up your MAME roms folder and sit there inside the import window to delete every game you don't want out of however many thousand there are? I haven't even looked into it, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah that is sort of a gray area, within a gray area lol. A good chunk of those bezels were made by someone who also had them on the emumovies ftp. But they were edited to fit normal sized screen fills that MAME does, or something like that, whereas the originals were for a pixel perfect aspect ratio which made the game screen smaller I think,...can't remember the details. But then a lot of people donated them to the large pack just so it would be consolidated in one place. It started small, and grew to over a thousand now I think. I updated my packs everytime, and d/led them from the onedrive link, until it stopped and moved to the ftp. I would guess the argument could be that the people who made freely available bezels, still have their original posts somewhere, so go download them there. You don't HAVE to use the emumovies ftp if you don't want to. It's just a perk to have it all in one pack, and metalzoic did craploads of resizing and organization to make the pack in the first place, so I am not going to complain about it too much. But while we're on the subject,...it has always seemed weird to me that the emuMOVIES ftp has so much media that is not video related, like all these rocketlauncher things. This community really needs to just centralize it's efforts. This fragmentation is getting old when it comes to all the media out there.

Downloaded a bunch of the videos one by one, put in platform videos folder, tested with seting theme to have platform background video, and without. They never showed up in any of the views, it was just the regular videos for launchbox huge with/without scanlines. Oh well. Launchbox just needs to let us put an image in front of a video, instead of having to hard encode a theme video.

Rocket Launcher: A Half-Baked Tutorial + Launchbox Integration
damageinc86 replied to JaysArcade's topic in Videos
Right. Can't LB link up already though? Just by setting it up as an emulator? -

No no, I mean having those functions actually a part of Launchbox/BB. The Fade, Bezels, and keymapper profiles for games, all inside the options of Launchbox. Surely sometime far off into the future, but just a dream to finalize the status of LB as the best front-end ever -

Can you imagine someday if Pause, Fade Screens, Bezels, and the profile mapping based on game database entries (not an .exe) actually became features of LB/BB!!!?!???! It would be the best ever! -
Indie Games (PC) custom boxarts collection ( WIP thread / 300+ )
damageinc86 replied to Aurel's topic in Game Media
I actually haven't put anything in big box yet, but I can try. I'm guess you wouldn't really notice unless you were up really close staring at it, as is the case with much of photoshop time . Probably not the end of the world by any means. But at least thought I should bring it up to see if it's a concern. Oh having both versions would be great! thanks. Going through this actually helped me find a few games I had never heard of and want to try. -

Yeah I totally understand about different tastes for gloss. But what I meant about the header being garbled up is that there are like big square pixels that are gray, like when an image gets corrupted. Probably not noticeable in the grand scheme of things. What about the original boxart before it's had the black header put on top? Are those being saved? Because they could really help just in a general sense for a clean source of box art that people can shove inside any template they want maybe. -

Any chance of releasing some PSD files of what you've already done? Would make the requests much less. Since I'm here though, I'd really like one using this PC Games logo.

How do you guys split up Arcade games?
damageinc86 replied to polygonslayer's topic in Collections and Builds
Yeah i hear you on the different xmls. But I think you could pull that off in launchbox as well, because I made platforms for the homebrew/hack games I have, called NES Homebrew, SNES Homebrew, etc. You just make a new platform and do all the naming and import your games. But I guess with arcade it would be a bit harder since there are so many games even for a single "platform" that you have taken out of the main xml. It would be so nice if you could import an xml made by the don's xml splitter, and then launchbox would just look up those romnames, names, and info stuff to make your new platform. -
Yes it does that on it's own, but if you use rocketlauncher to make the game specific profiles according to the database of the games in your rocketlauncher systems then it will launch game specific controls for you. This is especially great with MS-DOS since there are so many different keys used for those games.
