  1. my xml you mean? with only pac stuff?
  2. you guys gotta stop with the vhs line going down the entire screen so pronounced. I know it happened in real life back in the day, but I've never actually had a vcr that was this bad lol.
  3. There was another thread about this somewhere else in the forums but now it's down to a few very key features IMO, that make RL completely worth the hassle. The Pause screen: not because it allows you to pause the game, but because you can edit the save state and load state in RL (autohotkey .ini settings file) to send autohotkey presses to the emulator to save and load the game right from that menu. Fades: Default, or custom, it's just cool and sometimes it does actually work to cover up the emulator loading/flashing with the right timer settings. Bezels: I know a lot of people are using retroarch with overlays, but Bezels are just as good, and very easy to setup, especially if you get a good pack like metalzoic's arcade stuff. Mapping with joy2key: This is so important for me because I have not found an easier way to map controls for all of my ms-dos games. Once pointing RL to the joy2key program, you can add a new profile for the game in RL, and whenever that game loads, RL will start that profile right up! Even with multiple controllers. That's also how I have a few PC games with 4 players using two xbox360 controllers and two SNES usb controllers. But for ms-dos, this is a must have. plugin with launchbox: It works just fine with launchbox. Anytime you add a new game/platform in launchbox, RL will show it next time you start it, so you can easily tweak it right after adding it in launchbox. In launchbox, there's only one emulator: rocketlauncher. So once you go through the initial setup, I find it to really be a great compliment to Launchbox, and it actually has made setup go a little smoother now, since it's just select Rocketlauncher as emulator, add the game/platform, go into rocketlauncher and tweak some settings and done. It's all nice and uniform, and again. the biggest plus is the keymapping capabilities for platforms like ms-dos.
  4. I think the actual way to do this is to allow drag and drop of the platform names to the user's preferred order, and to just remember that. If they change their mind on what order, then all they have to do is drag the platform name to a different spot, with a line that shows up when in between platforms, so you can tell if you are on top or below whichever one you are around. Done. Entire sorting platform problem gone.
  5. I'll see if I can get a dolphin bezel going tonight. There's only a few things to try. If it doesn't work, then I just deal with not having it. but so far, I have a lot of bezels through RL. Works awesome.
  6. I just got HBMAME for the pac-man hacks. I have a full set, but only play those. don't remember it being a couple hundred gigs though. Like the 25 maze one, pac-man and ms. pac-man renaissance, unleashed. Have a playlist called "Arcade Hacks". Also has Donkey Kong II jumpman returns in it. but that is run through MAME.
  7. So bezel for dolphin. Does this mean a gamecube bezel? I know there are some of those for Rocketlauncher. I've seen them working before.
  8. My only issue, is do we really need there to be Master System red text at the bottom of every single logo? It clutters the image, and we should be able to place the logos as being from Master System because of the grid design.
  9. I like the second one with CD in letters .
  10. I put one of the overlay files in photoshop and took off the darkness that was filling out the video box. They are all there in one of the folders.
  11. Yeah it's hard sometimes, I understand it all. It's hard on the HS side, because there's a lot of loyalty there, but a developer that has basically been M.I.A. since the day I joined (fall of 2013) so there is a bit of defensive stance sometimes because your holding onto a lot there even with nothing moving. If the thread could have stayed on better terms that would have been nice, since I know that Jason did jump in quite a bit to use it as an issue/update area. I know a few times before I made the switch, I brought up stuff in there, and he had a new update that addressed the issue posted in that thread. Oh well, life moves on though. It was getting pretty big anyways! i think almost 100 pages.
  12. I think a lot of times people misunderstand passion for shit talking also. I've seen things get so out of hand on threads, when it was just a person's honest opinion and wasn't really inflammatory at all. I have a whole list that I'm sure i went over in that thread of why I couldn't stand HS anymore, and how LB addressed everything in one fail swoop. I never had any blowback from it, but I'm sure once you see enough of that you might get tired of it and then emotions get involved, and it spirals out of control lol.
  13. Yeah i'm sure it's more "out there" now. I hadn't visited the thread for several months, so maybe it did get a bit crazy. I'm also sure there's a bit of a sore spot there since HS is just so far behind with certain features. The workarounds get old, and seeing people leave and loose interest surely doesn't feel good.
  14. I actually didn't have a clue launchbox existed until I read that thread about a new version of this frontend. So I might not have found out about it, since at that point in time I was really invested in HS so I wasn't searching for anything else. I'm glad someone posed the question in that thread, or else I wouldn't be here.
  15. I just did this using notepad++ it was actually really easy. Just open all of the platform database files and do the find and replace in all open documents. Took like 5 minutes. Still needs to be a feature within launchbox, but this is a rather easy workaround.
  16. So I'm thinking you'd probably have to make playlists as an actual platform so that rocketlauncher knew to show a fade screen for that particular collection.
  17. I'm thinking that maybe that way it's easier, since rocketlauncher sometimes has trouble with getting windows to place right, issues with fullscreen stuff, etc. If you can get retroarch to do it all on it's own then it might be smoother. For all my handhelds I have these really cool overlays I found a long time ago that went with the shaders this person made. So the shaders call their own overlay. I still have rocketlauncher launch retroarch, but once the rocketlauncher fade is over, then retroarch is started with the overlay/shader already there.
  18. Guess how ridiculously simple it was? All it ended up being was MAX users being set past the amount of controllers plugged in. Apparently the ability to map controllers depends on how many user spots are set in the max users field. WEIRD, but it works now! have access to all my controllers.
  19. nice going to work on some of that stuff tomorrow, seems like they might have got it towards the end there.
  20. yeah, i haven't moved anything ever, but it just doesn't make sense that it can't actually "see" the other controllers, when other programs can. Hopefully someone else has ran into this situation. It could be some freak thing that is only happening to me, just thought i'd pose the question. thanks.
  21. I would totally unplug the wiimote adapter to see if that changes anything, but then everything else that has been plugged in for the last 3 years will move spots and i'll have to remap everything lol. Not fun. I don't know anything about controllers and stuff from a programming standpoint, but I always wonder how does Launchbox figure this out and everything is seen and "mappable", but something like retroarch with so much development and several years behind it, can't get access to everything. Boggles my simple mind lol.
  22. Yeah that's the problem. It shows in the yellow status messages, but the only controllers available in the actual user bind menu is the xbox360 #1, and all four mayflash dolphin bar wii mote slots.
  23. since that one topic derailed i'll just ask here. How the heck is everyone mapping all of their controllers in retroarch? Like i've said elsewhere, and even on their forums, I haven't been able to map anything besides my first xbox360 controller (even though when retroarch starts up, it shows everything that I have plugged in blinking on the yellow status messages at the bottom). Just tried the most recent stable build of 1.5.0 and it still doesn't list anything but that in the input user binds user 1. Is there a known programming thing going on where they just aren't having that as a feature or what? I have the mayflash adapters for SNES, Playstation, and gamecube. Don't know why I can't actually access them in the list of "mappable" controllers. Any ideas?
  24. So how would we use this? Where would it show up? Oh I see now, it's the actual icon for the ROM folders! Nice.
