Is there a way to take the scanlines off per system? for example I don't really want scanlines on anything gamecube or newer. But it looks fine on the older systems.

This is why I would love for Launchbox to be able to import a simple xml game list like those that have already been curated from Hyperspin and/or Don's tools xml generator. There's gotta be a way to do that. MAME is a beast, and with the don's tools program you can make a really nice database with so many filters in a very short time. I could probably add my arcade setup because I also matched my mame games directory to my xml already, so there are no crap mahjong or casino roms in my directory at all. But a full set seems like it might be quite the task to do in launchbox. It would be a great step towards ease of integration if there was an import xml option that looked for those other types of xml's that users are able to make already, and fused those into the launchbox style of xml.

yeah, hasn't vlc been the way to go as far as players since the late early 2000s? I don't see any reason not to focus on that one, and leave the others to secondary status. I don't have any problems with my LB/BB and the vlc setting. I am just using the metallic theme and a standard view.

NICE! it would be cool to have this sort of environment be completed for an entire theme throughout launchbox.
-
yeah guess ill wait for nested filters to be completed. hopefully there will be a keyboard or controller shortcut for it in bigbox.
-
what about in bigbox?

I'd like some of the simple things covered, like a basic tutorial of the most used things. I still have no idea how to use filters or set them or do anything with nested filters either. Maybe its easy and I'm just being blind, but i've never seen it in the options. we still have to scroll through all games to check which ones are 2 player games, takes a long time.

Need a Metallica sticker version

I know that the background images include the physical system in the same image. So it's not layered. Unfortunately no .psd files are with this either, so you basically have to make your own, or either get a picture of a console that's a little bigger than the original one so you can cover it up. I also edited my video play window image to not have the gray haze over it that makes the video darker.

One thing i've noticed for a while is that when you hold down the right arrow key to move fast through the letters in the game selection screen, to say, get to the letter T, but you let go on S, and click one over to make it to T, the last click sound will be really loud compared to the others that occurred on your way up the alphabet.

Dude, you should just make this thing an entire theme, complete with platform logos and everything.
-
i love the style you employed for this set. Heck, I'd like these as an entire platform background image.

Where do banners show up usually? I'm not sure I have any in the metallic theme i'm using.

Well that's good news. Hopefully someday it will just be sort of plug 'n play in terms of seeing through the adapters one might be using for their controllers. If LB every does get built-in bezel support, please oh please make it compatible with all of the Rocketlauncher bezels that have been made over the years, there are so many great sets. The arcade games alone have over a thousand bezels.

Yeah I tried all of that. I have two SNES controllers into the mayflash adapter, two playstation controllers into the usb adapter, and two xbox360 controllers. I literally spent hours on it, and finally gave up and just went back to mednafen for most of what I was trying to emulate anyways. Now it has Saturn emulation too. The only thing I kept retroarch for is the handhelds since they are always one player, and I had some really nice overlays all setup for those.

This app is badass. Glad you found the shortcuts folder too GatoSoft. With the keymapping inside bluestacks, plus keymapping outside of it (rocketlauncher) I bet you could play a lot of games with a controller. This looks like it will be fun to mess around with.
-
Yes, but unfortunately Retroarch has major trouble recognizing several controllers. For I have not had a version yet that could let me re-map any of my 5+ controllers except the very first xbox360 controller, and on occasion the 2nd xbox360 controller. It seems like a weird bug, because everything showed up on the status messages that flicker upon startup, but no matter what input driver, nothing else worked. Whereas Launchbox can see every controller I have plugged in, and lets me navigate Bigbox with ease, no matter which controller I pick up! I'd definitely upvote for figuring out how to get Rocketlauncher Bezels built into LB/BB. That would bring it only a few steps away from being the final solution for a front end experience imo.

Yeah 67 pages is just too much. It should be broken down by every jump in a version number. Even if you have to resubscribe.

The only thing I was able to grasp about ahk was how to do the save states in Rocketlauncher's PAUSE menu,...which also can show manuals btw. I went looking for how to do ahk stuff and it was overwhelming because i'm not super tech-savvy. Rocketlauncher took some time, but for keymapping and controls it was just a matter of getting joy2key, setting it as active in the system you are on, and then either making a system-wide profile, or a game-specific profile. After some poking around, all the options were there for me to find relating to keymapping. I don't know about other stuff being done with ahk, but I was responding to igotdvds mame control and game manual post specifically.

Might be a perfect time to try out rocketlauncher for that stuff. Its all built in and rather easy to get it going.

Yeah i was just throwing that huge hope out there. Having a GUI for theme making is far, far off, but could really open this world up for the more plug n play user types. Which launchbox/bb is already obviously geared towards with the way it works now. But i got it with those tips so i'm happy!

I tried CameraZPositionin in the platformswheel4 which is the view I use, and using a smaller number made the wheel images get larger. NICE. Feels like eventually this should be an option though. Or maybe an easy thing to do in the theme editor program to be made late 2017, that I hope will be called "ThemeBox" Thanks for the help though. Much better with larger images.

oh wow, awesome! I'll check that out. Thanks!

planning on adding this to a custom theme? might be interesting to see.
