Possible to speed up LaunchBox / BigBox load up times?
Chris Kant replied to DonkyKong's topic in Troubleshooting
I know what you want to say but it feels not like being open for critics. in Motorsport it is also good to be in the race and on the top but from one moment to another someone else is faster than you. never the less this discussion is far away for bringing us a step forward unless Jason is not part of this conversation. -
Possible to speed up LaunchBox / BigBox load up times?
Chris Kant replied to DonkyKong's topic in Troubleshooting
I am not sure if this is a good long term way. my problem is that I am losing more and more the positive vibes for this application because it is so exhausting to add artworks in a correct way to all the games and have a control on it plus the performance. I cannot wait for a new pole of potential enhancement and development focus for the next period. -
Possible to speed up LaunchBox / BigBox load up times?
Chris Kant replied to DonkyKong's topic in Troubleshooting
it depends on the amount of Systems and especially Playlists. the xml based solution in Launchbox cause slowdowns from the architecture perspective. also loading Artwork in Launchbox (open a system and presenting all games with 3d Artworks takes long). I have the same experience with my 8700k overclocked, NVME SSD (with launchbox and artwork on it) and a RTX 2080. it is no longer a beefy system at all, I know. -
I am not from your region but maybe we can give you some advices to make it easier for you. doesn't matter which front end you are using Emulatores will always the same challenge. which systems would you like to emulate? and a good starting point is tetroarch. if one system is working well there you are more than half way through a lot of other systems as well.

Switch between Sega model 2 rom versions?
Chris Kant replied to ReignerDeustcher's topic in Troubleshooting
try right mouse button on a game in launchbox, then you can choose between the versions of the game -
unfortunately this user experience is whooped for some other improvements ? I don't like this change either

Two Platforms using the same core with differen settings (RetroArch)
Chris Kant replied to Friedi1987's topic in Noobs
I assume there was an option like save per plattform or save per game. or maybe this core splitter could help as well ? -
I understood what you want to say but convenient is not the same as MORE convenient. few more clicks and a extra plug in that works not as good as it should is a nightmare from the user view. never the less. I am also not big fan about media management in Launchbox its Game DB. when you have media art that is out of standard in Launchbox. the upload bad stuff into the games DB is indeed also a problem but also here I am pretty sure there are possibilities. a overhauled moderation function would help a lot, and uploading from launchbox, more possibilities in the games detail like all data per region, and so on. I know I know there are more important things than this and that is the resason why that part slept on for so long time ? but compared with i.e. hyperspin where the software lived longer than its development only because of media control was Hugh (sure different plug ins as well but you had a one button option to change the artworks from one style to another).

I assume he is mentioning a more convenient option.
-
not sure if I understood you completely but I have a slow down since ages and the reason was explained by Jason that I have too many playlists and automated playlists that needs to build up during startup.
-
it maybe increase the startup performance but because of many many playlists I assume that I cannot feel any improvements at all ?

best new feature so far ?

Media Handling is a difficult and messy work in Launchbox. especially if you download from other places than the gamesDB the files and place it into the right folder. naming convention has to be exactly like the game name in the GamesDB else not all files will be found and shown in Launchbox. you can display games with missing media. in the upper left corner you can choose the missing media view and then goes to cards and filter it by platforms. then you can choose the wanted few missing ones.

do you have the same error message when you try to start a game directly in CEMU? did which CEMU version do you have?

this should be archived with not using any of the options you can choose in the emulator. leaving the options as it is and you are as close as possible related to the emulators. I may think that beetle software core is more accurate.
