  1. I've always loved this theme and it's the main one I use...but this new version has removed the horizontal marquee text..... Any chance of doing an alternate version where it's back in or is there some way I can cut and paste the code from the old version into the new one?
  2. I'm wondering if the % in the filename is messing up the importer somehow?
  3. There isn't one, but if you put it into fullscreen mode and then quit the emu, it will start up in fullscreen next time. It's fullscreen mode isn't great though which is why I looked for alternatives, I'm using "Caprice Forever" now
  4. Your extensions are hidden, so all your files are named .jpg at the end but you can't see them, and so when you renamed the first background it became Background-01.jpg.jpg
  5. Judging by the picture of your folder it looks like your background picture is named Background-01.jpg.jpg
  6. Very true, and sorry if I gave that impression. I've still got the old bios set and most of the ones floating around on the internet are the old set which is why is the only reason I suggested an earlier version of MAME.
  7. I think someone else had this problem recently, try an older version of MAME like 0.196
  8. Some C64 games expect the joystick to be on port 1, others port 2, so you may just need to press the fire button after swapping virtual joystick ports Alt J is the shortcut to do it.
  9. Re: Beast 1, the bg graphics aren't missing but there's a lot of corruption on the borders where there should be no graphics at all, if you run right and go down the well and then go back up again, the graphics will look a bit better. No fix for the fullscreen issue as far as I know.
  10. I still use Unz, I didn't find MAME to be all that good for FM Towns. Main problem with Unz is poor fullscreen support, I run it in a Window. The way I use it with Launchbox is have daemon tools as the "emulator" and get that to mount the isos when a game is launched, i then set Unz as an additional app to run after the main application There may be more elegant ways but this works for me. This will only work with games that boot from the CD, for games that boot from floppy it's a bit more complicated.
  11. Honestly that just looks like a bad iso image
  12. Just go to launchbox > tools > options and stop dosbox from exiting when exiting games, then do what you normally do but when you're left at the prompt just change to d: and run the install.exe
  13. That's not a crash, all you have to do there is change to the cd drive before running install, and I wouldn't ever recommend just copying files from the cd, either install properly or grab a set like exodos (google it)
  14. Ok that's strange...does dosbox flash up the message and then quit or are you left in the dos prompt? If you're at the prompt, what happens when you type d:
  15. Everything looks right, and D is normally the correct drive letter for CD's but it depends on the copies of the games you've got and how they were configured, they may have been set to use E For Warcraft look in the folder and edit path.war with a normal text editor and you can see what drive it expects the CD to be on. For 7th Guest check your groovie.ini
  16. I'm not at home at the moment but I had a strange problem with the new beta at first, the startup movies weren't playing properly, I could hear them but it was just a black screen, this happened twice but after that it seemed to start working again. Also my favourite theme retrotastic seems to have major issues with this new beta, long error messages were popping up in most of the views and the transition video (video static) when you scroll through the games wasn't displaying at all, it just showed some text which said something about out of player instances. @Jason Carr @faeran edit: ok..no idea what's going on now, all I did was update to the new beta and Retrotastic stopped working..but to be sure I downloaded a new copy of the theme and it's working fine....very puzzled.
  17. If you provide some screenshots we might be able to get an idea of what's gone wrong. Things like one of the problem games selected, the 'other' tab when you edit the game
  18. https://assemblergames.com/threads/official-rhea-discussion.57377/page-30#post-956120 It's a Saturn programming Forum (no illegal content for any mods watching)
  19. Found this explanation on a forum "Most of those numbers are disc pressing codes. Many games were popular enough that they had to make a lot of manufacturing runs, but those runs may have had some slight differences. Redump indicates these by the ring code. The actual game data is same for all of those, the difference is mostly in small things, like one audio file being different, or offset by a few bits or something like that. So just pick one and play."
  20. Is that the only video not showing up? Have you got videos set to autoplay in LaunchBox? Do you have a licence for LaunchBox? The video features don't work on the free version.
  21. As far as I know they are version numbers, I tend to choose the higher ones but I've never found a comprehensive explanation as to what they mean
  22. Ring King may be showing up under King of Boxer as that's the parent set.
  23. As far as I can tell vdmgr does not have command line support so you cannot use it with a frontend.
  24. Just keep Xpadder open, it won't do any harm, I keep mine open all the time and just set profiles for certain apps/emulators
