Sounds like you may have a image priority issue. Got to tools/options images and find the image type you actually want showing and make sure that inside that the actual image type is selected and is at the top of the list.

There are no options for that, no. It may be possible in a themes code, but i really don't know there.

Paper Mario games are available on multiple platforms, it sounds like you have the Wii version. The Gamecube version is called "The Thousand Year Door" and is scrapeable as Gamecube.

This is your main issue right here, if you dont have the correct versions of the emulator or MAME roms that actually match that emulator version then its never gonna work correctly. Even having someone come to your home is not going to work as your roms are simply not compatible with the emulator version you are trying to use, there is no amount of MAME setup knowledge that can fix that, incompatible is incompatible. As for paradise they stopped providing roms a long time ago. As has been previously stated you need to get a MAME fullset of roms downloaded, either from pleasuredome or internet archive, and then get the same version of the MAME emulator to match that romset version. The newest romset is 0.216 so use the newest version of MAME which is the same version, if you end up with a older set, say 0.204 for example, then simply go to the MAME emulator site and download the 0.204 version of the emulator to match your roms.

Wow, so after i told you you were on the correct screen to change the view, for both games list and platform, you ignored that completely and moved to a different screen and left it on the exact same view that we were trying to swap you from? The black screen, i will repeat is because you are missing a platform video to show there, either download one or as i said switch the view to one that does not require a fullscreen video. thats skippable on MAME also. looks like you are trying to change a playlists emulator. you cant.

Im in agreement here. Thats the thing with themes they are very subjective, i have searched high and low for my "perfect" bigbox and Launchbox themes, i havent quite found either yet (and im not quite sure what that "perfect" theme is for me, ill know it when i see it though), always a little niggle or two for me. At the end of the day though the same themes people have always used are still available, this just adds another one to the pile of choice that you have.

I think you bring up the quick menu in Retroarch and apply them there, although i have never used them myself, no need when you can just save whenever you like. This is a emulator feature however, and not a frontend one so Launchbox itself does not provide any cheats. I would just suggest searching youtube on how to use cheats with Retroarch.

I think you are a little confused here, this thread is discussing MAME which you actually load the zip to, its not unzipped at all. For other platforms this is a known issue and the same on the Desktop side, you dont zip those games and use the .cue as the file you import to Launchbox.

You can sort of do this at the moment, not exactly what you are asking but you can sort by platform. Just run the missing media tool then use the "Arrange by" dropdown to arrange by Platform.

It's just videos/platforms, then the videos all named the same as the platforms.

1&2 in your image there is quite clearly two view options, one for platforms and one for games, use them. 3. then your video is shorter than it takes Bigbox to load, you need a longer video or put up with the black screen while Bigbox continues to load once the video has finished.

You can now also do it from the help menu.

1&2 Switch views, you are on the fullscreen video view there. 3. It can be skipped, just not before Bigbox has actually loaded as there would be nothing to skip to. 4. there arent really any. Just make sure its set to 60fps and uses high quallity images. You can also enable some different transitions if you like.

Well seeing as this has NEVER been a issue for anyone else before, ever, and its the first time you have brought it up then i doubt its being fixed, no. As @Retro808 said you have something else going on there, there is no way at all downloading a theme would delete all your images and platforms data, that just doesnt happen. I would suggest looking at the health of your hard drive, it could be dying and losing data.

Why? As stated Launchbox is NOT a emulator, while retroarch is, or at least a collection of emulators in one unified UI. So setup overlays in retroarch if you want to use them.

Because launchbox is not a emulator. As i said emulators handle that, so just set them up in retroarch and launch your games from Launchbox.

Overlays/bezels are handled by the emulators, not Launchbox.

Rearmed is actually a mobile port (hence the ARM part of the name) ported back to windows. So it was originally designed for low power devices like phones/tablets/rasberry pi and therefore uses some hacks and speedups to get good performance on those low powered devices. It also has lower compatability than other cores/emulators. If you are using a low powered device then sure use it, but if you have a semi decent PC there are far better alternatives to use.

Try setting a key for change image type and cycle it, it could be set to a image type that doesnt work there.

Videos can be downloaded in Launchbox via Tools/Download platform/playlist videos. As for logos Launchbox includes some with the .exe but not all, and yes naming does matter. You will need to look in Launchbox/Images/Platforms/Name of platform/Clear logo and check there is a logo there and that it exactly matches the name you gave the platform in Launchbox. If there is nothing there you can just add one, again making sure to name it exactly as the platform is named. You may also need to go to Options/Image cache in Bigbox and refresh platform images to get them to show.

"Wireless Controller" is it in dinput mode, so MAME should now see to different controllers.
