  1. There isnt in the Launchbox/Bigbox UI, but the emulator itself may. Retroarch for example pops a message when you save/load states.
  2. If your roms are really from a PI build i recommend trying the MAME 2003plus core.
  3. Yes. MAME works differently to all other emulators, the roms themselves actually change over time when better dumps are made, or when improvements are made to the emulator. Files can be added/removed/altered and renamed inside the game.zip. This is why the romsets and the emulator are versioned. If you had say a 0.210 romset then the 0.210 version of the emulator the games will be guaranteed to be compatible. If you are using say a 0.180 romset with a 0.210 MAME emulator then a lot of games will still work just fine, but any game that has had files altered since 0.180 will not work in 0.210, period. MAME emulator and romsets are updated every single month, so if a game.zip changes one month it will no longer work in previous versions of MAME, only the current one and ones moving forward, until the file changes again.
  4. If its from a pi build then they will be very old roms as that is all the pi has power to run,, likely they are from around 2003.
  5. If you do not know which version your roms are there is not a lot more we can do to help. The fact that some work and others dont leads me to believe you are using the wrong version of the MAME emulator, but without knowing what version the roms are we cant tell you which version of the emulator to use.
  6. Unfortunately this is just how Windows handles USB device ID's. Unplugging and replugging or just restarting your machine means that the device ID's will be re-assigned, and the order of them is just what Windows decides to do.
  7. Probably the wrong version for the version of mame you are using. MAME is VERY picky with its roms, this is why everything is versioned, match your rom versions with the correct MAME emulator version
  8. It shouldnt matter, it should just download the video you chose in the dropdown next to arcade. If i delete my video and go to the download wizard it gives me that video as default and that is what it downloads.
  9. Startup screens can be anywhere from 0.01 seconds to 30 seconds long and can be set on a per emulator basis from Tools/Manage emulators.
  10. Well those are PC games and not emulators as such, so have there own way of saving which would be different for every game.
  11. This is not a hidden charge, Launchbox will scrape media for you just fine for free. However Game videos, Manuals and Music are from emumovies.
  12. Do you have audio when you have that black screen? If so have you tried disabling startup screens in Bigbox?
  13. Yes, it randomly scrolls and stops on a game, waits for a time that you specify then scrolls again to another random game.
  14. That is attract mode, a feature that randomly shows games after a set period when idle. It can be toggled on/off in the options, as well as other options for it if you leave it turned on.

What emulator are you using? The pause features rely on AHK scripts to send key presses to the emulator, so if you dont have any setup then you need to.
  16. I just checked here and mine is working fine. I have mine setup slightly differently though, i just use my username rather than the url. In my steam profile settings i have this. and that is what i input in the import wizard. That works just fine for me and finds my games.
  17. The default checkbox is for imports only, it wont change the emulator after you have imported. To do that just select the platform on the left and click a game in it, then CTRL A to highlight all the games in the platform and right click one and choose edit, this will open the bulk edit wizard. Click next then choose emulator from the dropdown and the emulator to be used from the second dropdown that appears, finish out the wizard.
  18. That is probably your issue, you are using a old rom with the current MAME version. All Capcom games that use the qsound bios file were changed around version 0.184 i believe, so any rom from before then will not work with current MAME versions. This is why MAME romsets and the emulator itself are versioned, because the roms themselves can change when better dumps are made or when MAME itself improves the emulation. Also you may not even have all the files needed for the game, if it is from a non-merged set it will be fine, but if it is from a split or merged set you could be missing files as well as the bios needed for the game to run. Try downloading a version of MAME from around 0.180 or so and see if it works there.
  19. MAME works just fine in Launchbox. What romset is your rom from and what version of MAME are you using?
  20. Ive never used it to be honest, but i expect its Launchbox only, maybe ask the author of it if its possible for Bigbox.
