ok yeah I always just use the standard built in one to compress. Thanks for catching that @neil9000
7z also automatically unblocks zips when you extract them, i just use it for everything as it unzips everything and is free.

Really ok I'll try that @neil9000 can you try it with the Windows unzipped please
Yeah i get a ton of errors with the built in, mostly .xml files as well as i think a font.

Thanks for letting me know @Rincewind, I just uploaded a newer version. Let me know if you still have a problem, I am one of them folks that have uploading issues to LB from time to time
12 minutes ago, Rincewind said:Same thing is still happening, How are you zipping the file?
Unzips fine with 7z.

I was wondering....Is the loading bar supposed to be animated? (Filling from left to right?) Or still? On my setup it doesn't move. Just wondering if there's a setting or something I could change to make it animate? Great work on this, it's truly gorgeous and one of the few missing pieces to all aspects of Bigbox looking coherent
I would guess it only animates if you are unzipping a rom, Launchbox really doesnt know how long a emulator will take to load, but can estimate rom unzipping time.

I am looking for the same thing as the above. This theme, minus the big platform logo. Just a list for the games in this MS DOS theme.

Ahh thanks for the heads up. It might be an issue with webm format. I’ll look into that. I think all my videos are mp4
Steam uses webm, they play fine in VLC, but WMP needs you to install codecs to play them.

I beg your pardon? I didnt tell them how as they didnt even ask, a bit like yourself, just accused with no reason.

@soqueroeu So I tried renaming my Nintendo Entertainment System to Nintendo NES and this gave me the default startup, just like your screenshot.
In the "..\LaunchBox\Metadata\Platforms.xml" there's a lot of alternate platform names. I was under the impression that this solved all alternate names. Nintendo NES is in there but the startup will go to the default.
I'll look in to this and see if this can be solved for a future update.
As for Playlists, I don't have any at the moment. In this release its mainly consoles and handheld. In the next update I'll be adding the missing consoles, start adding arcade systems and looking in to playlists.
@Retro808, thanks, I was just trying that as well
Someone more knowledgeable than me will have to chime in here as i dont know code, but i dont think the alternate system names in the metadata.xml do anything at all in themes. I believe themes can tap into the "scrape as" field though, so a platform could be named anything at all, but if its scraped as the correct name (which you would assume it would be otherwise the user would have no media for these platforms) it should still be able to show the correct theme/view. As i say though someone who actually knows this stuff would need to confirm.

Both of you can stop the agro. For the record it is working just fine for me on 11.16 beta 2.

Could also turn off "different views per platform" in the options so that all platforms are always the same view.

Hi,
Thanks for update.
Is there a way to go from Launchbox to Bigbox via this theme as I can't seem to find it anywhere ?
Click the house next to the search bar.

Thank you for the thorough explanation and kind clarification about the source author of this plugin. I am not personally involved in the programmatic level of the coding here, so I was operating here on the assumption that theme author was implementing coding interfaces that are included in and maintained by LaunchBox. @faeran, since this is a third-party plugin and not one that LaunchBox themselves maintains, who is the author that would need to be contacted to patch this bug?

CC: @Jason Carr. Please see above.
Its a plugin and not maintained by us, so not a lot Jason can do.

Could be you have a different image type specified on that platform. Set a button/key to switch image type and cycle it to see if it shows.

Can we mod the Unified themes to have per game fanart backgrounds. Been trying settings with no luck.
You can mod any theme if you have the knowhow to do so.

I dont want to speak for @faeran really here, but i will just chime in with a little bit of my own 2 penny's. This is a proof on concept theme, (hence the name POC), i dont really think that faeran thought about it being a actual everyday theme when he created it, it really seems to me to be exactly what it says it is, a "hey look this is the sort of things you can now do in Bigbox, now take these ideas and build then into actual themes" or at least that is how i saw it. So people acting like it's a fully fledged theme and requesting additions and changes and such may, want to wait for a actual fully developed theme that features elements that are demoed here.
@faeran apologies to you if i misunderstood the theme and you was actually going for a fully fledged theme here.

Wow this theme is amazing, excellent work!!!! I see where you got some design inspiration from, especially on the screen shot for GameCube/Zelda Any chance you can share the community files so we can tweak this for or own builds?
I,m not positive, but i would assume the creator wasnt used in this case. The features being used here are new and are still in the betas only, im not sure if the community creator has caught up to that as of yet.

Ey dude the theme has a lot of bugs on a 1080p screen, plis try to fix them, i like how the theme looks
If you feel there are issues with the theme then you might want to elaborate on what those are, just saying fix the issues please isnt really much help. It's likely the author of this theme saw no issues when he created it. So if you want anything done at all descriptions, preferably which images to demonstrate the "bugs" would obviously be advantageous.

Hi Thanks for the amazing theme, is there any possibility that you could share the community version of the theme with us so we could fix some of the screen adjustment difference by ourselves?
This theme wasnt created with the community theme creator, so there are no files to share im afraid.

Thanks for continuing to upload this. I don't understand why this is not a standard option in the main file. It seems like something many ask for.
Because the MAME devs dont want people who dont understand, or care to read about MAME asking why "insert game" isnt loading on a constant basis, so they tell you up front, the condition of the emulation. I to would get tired of thousands of people every month telling me that a game doesnt work when its known full well that it is not yet emulated.

Did the launchbox update break this theme? My games view is now just really big clear logos, and not the banners like it was before.
If it did it should be reported in the beta thread. Also, betas will break things, the whole point is to iron out the issues before a public release, so as with any software, update to beta at your own risk.
