  1. What exactly was the issue? (Also what are your machine specs and were you using standalone or Retroarch core) Maybe it's just a configuration issue. I use both Melon and Desmume in Retroarch and both work well.
  2. Maybe I'm missing what your looking for, but you won't get the collapsable part until you add another item that has the upper category set as a parent. If you highlight a category and choose new category, it should preset the new items parent as the currently highlighted category,
  3. I'm on version 1.7.4721 and it works, so I don;t know. Just SSX1 and Tricky apparently.
  4. So installed Stella to try and using the command line argument -f seems to be the issue. Don't use it and it starts but in windowsed mode, with it it is unrecognized and goes to Stella menu. Edit: Use this command line option
  5. Do you have the same issues when run in windowed mode?
  6. It looks like you might have got your answers on the Retroarch forum, but you are mixing overlays and full screen Mega shaders. These shaders HAVE to be in full screen scaling, not core provided. If you want to use some overlays, you have to add them and manually override them in a slang override. For example, I use Duimon's shader, but prefer my overlay images, so for the bsnes ocre I have a core slang override that has the following: Basically all that does is use my image and make the frame a bit smaller. The result looks like this:
  7. Without knowing the exact settings and shader you are using it's hard to say, but I can say that sometimes with the larger screen size it can look closer to right but it isn't. Could you post a picture of a 4:3 game and exactly the settings for Video -> scaling, the overlay you are using (from where, bezel project), and the exact shader used?
  8. Most games are 4:3 or 3:4 aspect ratio and when set to core provided that is normally the game size that is set. When you enable overlays, it draws these bezels outside that play area. Using the Mega shaders, they expect to have your full screen size to work. (This has nothing to do with the game resolution) Within that full screen, they create the fancy effects and they also create the frame and bezel and than embed the game playfield as well. Hope that makes sense and helps. (look at your first image and see how its drawing a frame and game inside that smaller 3:4 aspect)
  9. Yes the Mega shader expects the scaling to be set to full. What it appears you have, is it is set to 3:4 or core provided. So the core thinks the game area is that small size, and then the shader is expecting the full screen size and it creates it frame, with what it expects is the full screen ibut it is being forced into the smallwe core provided size. Addionally I'm not sure you can use the normal Retroarch overlay method with the full screen shaders, without an override for the game that points the shaders bezel image to your image of choice.
  10. Two things: Are you sure you don't have overlays on as well Do you have scaling set to full in the video options when using the Mega bezel shaders? (I can get the same behavior by setting those)
  11. There's also a fixed version that works perfectly with that core.
  12. Great plugin in Joe. I don't know if you can or how much work it would be, but since we can't pass variables like %romfile% from LB to scripts additional applications, would it be possible to have that expansion done whilebulk editting into the command line parameters? Without seeing the code I'm guessing you're modifying the XML anyways, and should have the romname available and instead of a simple copy and paste of the command line options it would just need a quick substring replacement first. Any thoughts?
  13. Some devices can have multiple entries in Device Manager. I try to keep my matching ID as short as needed. Although rare, I've seen a windows update that slightly changed the longer ID info. As an example, I just match the following for my Logitech wheel Glad you got it working.
  14. If it's matching correctly it should show the number you assigned to it. Running from a command prompt or from Powershell with the verbose option (-v) should show if it remapping correctly.
  15. I've been back and forth as well and finally settled on the following: Thies shows all Arcade games in the top level (which most people only need, especially when browsing), but gives me the By system for easier media scanning or specialized tools I need for those platforms.
  16. Who hasn’t wasted time on simple syntax errors like that? I guess it the same reason writers have editors, you read what you know it should be and not what you wrote. 🙂 As a habit I don’t trust copying and pasting in web browsers, (At least on Windows), unless the paste as plain text option is available. I don't think it's right in the original post either... so you are forgiven. ☺️
  17. Your problem is that you have used smart quotations in your text file. Not sure what editor you are using, but you need to turn them off. Standard quotations won't have curves in them. Here is a corrected version to copy and paste as well:
  18. So the issue is you have some kind of syntaxical error in your ctlr file. Can you post the complete contents of your that file? (Preferrably within quote or code tags)
  19. Can you post the script you are trying to use? Placing them in the quotes should work. Sometimes in some editors while working, extra hidden line feeds seem to get added. In those case I delete any spaces where it wraps and re-add a space to make sure that's it's a single line. On some editors you can turn on showing invisible characters. If you can post your script and the error, that is the best bet to solving your issue.
  20. Sorry I was away from computer. The Hide command window is only when using emulation mode and under the Emulator details screen. The VBS method is the same as using a BAT file. Your commands are in that file and you add that file as the launch option and turn off Use Emiulation. Here is an example of what is in my start_dlair.vbs file: Also make sure to get the windows subsystem version of Hypseus.exe.
  21. Is the hide command window option enabled in LB? I have these commands in a *.vbs file and call it directly from LB. not using using emulation part of LB. If you are still having issues, hypseus includes a windows subsystem version that doesn't open a command window as well. You can just rename it to hypseus, exe and try that version as well.
  22. Maybe it's my bad eyes but I can't see the dots/grainy you are referring to. Could you circle an area where it happens. It's also hard when the images aren't the exact same. Maybe pause the game and use a screenshot at the same time. Is it possible just the dithering in the game appears more pronounced when the non-dithered bezels are around the game play screen?
  23. Yes, a long time ago before the Retroarch core. I liked it better than Vice, but if I'm remembering correctly, it was a glitch with sound that ultimately made me switch. Also, since I'm running it in a cabinet, the on-screen virtual keybord with the Retroarch Vice core, allowed me to add pretty much any C64 game without needing a keyboard attached to my cabinet.
  24. I use the Retroarch vice core, but I downloaded and started a copy of Last Ninja just to try. My version didn't have the Function keys in the trainer menu. but I eventually got to the same screen as you. I was unable to get the game to start using the joystick. I pulled up the on-screenstatus bar and verified the joystick inputs were working. Next step I brought up the virtual on-screen keyboard and hitting RETURN started the game. Dumb that a joystick button wouldn't start it, but seems a lot of older games used different combinations in lieu of any real standards. Impossible Mission, Prince of Persia and Summer Games II all work with this core, so they should work with standalone. (I just find the Retroarch core easier to use and looks great with the Mega shaders and bezels by Duimon.
  25. Sure. You can set per platform or per game. I turned on the speech options for primary controls, and then for the respective platforms I add the text I want read for that platform to the primary control. For many consoles on startup my cabinet will say: "Use XBOX controllers."
