  1. @Jason Carr - I wonder if you can comment on the above? Launchbox Next is showing me the correct total game count for "handhelds", but BigBog is only counting the platforms and not the games in the playlists. I'm using CriticalCid's Criticalzone blue theme.
  2. I think if you mention his name - @Jason Carr then it gets flagged up to him.
  3. Well if you want to stick with the old LB then it would still be worth asking Jason or someone for advice I think. LB Next has gone through a number of updates in the past few weeks and I understand that the official release will have some further customisation options (with themes coming in a later release) so will be worth keeping an eye on!
  4. Yes, I wouldn't worry about anything that is not in LB Next as LB is about to get PHAZED OUT!
  5. Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding. Game counts should still show. Hopefully someone else with more knowledge in this are can chime in.
  6. It should show counts for playlists just like platforms. You say "not when I select playlists" - you don't have to select an item in the left-hand menu to see the item count - they should just be displayed anyway.
  7. Romfrosk could you advise me re this flash library as well please.
  8. Thanks for your reply @Jason Carr I suppose that makes sense when you consider how large the cache could become. It would however be very helpful if the box size could be set in LBN on a per platform basis! Due to the different sizes and shapes of boxes (or whatever media image is preferred for the display) for different platforms, having the same size for all platforms means that many will not look right. Is this something that you have perhaps considered?
  9. Thanks for your reply neil9000. I completely understand the issue of resource intensity. However, one word in reply - option! This could be an option in LB so that those with the necessary resource (and it may not work out as that much required, who knows) would be able to benefit from such a great feature!
  10. Deciding which media format is the best one to display in LB is tricky. For games which had boxes, I think that the 3D box image is probably the best. The 2D box image is OK but there is nothing to differentiate it from being like a flyer or a flat image. The 3D box image makes it clear that it is a box and is therefore a bit more true to the original media. What would be great however is if LB could implement a "true" 3D box ability - by this I mean a rendered 3D box which can be manually rotated and moved just like a real box. That would really give an amazing impression of the original media and I can't imagine it getting any better than that other than by having the physical media itself. Keen to hear others' thoughts on this feature. @Jason Carr I wonder if this is something that you have thought about?
  11. How many of them did you do?
  12. Regarding image cacheing - if LBN caches the images for a certain size, and the user resizes them (leading to another cache process) but then goes back to the original size, do the original sized images need to be re-cached or does it remember the cache from the last time they were that size?
  13. Another issue @CriticalCid - the total game count for a platform doesn't seem to be correct for my "Handhelds" category. They way that I have organised this category is to have 1 platform and 2 playlists in it. The 2 playlists take games from another platform, which is not in the handheld category. The problem is, the total game count only shows the games for the platform and not for the playlists. Is this because the platform that the playlists take games from in not in the category? Thanks!
  14. Thanks neil9000. Looks pretty technical, but I will have a read!
  15. Is there any guide or guidance available anywhere to help with making a BigBox theme? I'm keen but have no coding experience and don't know where to start.
  16. Many thanks - I will!
  17. It's the Criticalzone blue theme. Perhaps Cid can advise.
  18. Yes, you should do that. Is the monitor the LG 25UM58? As seen here on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-25UM58-inch-Ultrawide-Monitor/dp/B01BV1XB2K
  19. Sorry to hear that man. I have to say from your screenshot that it is the best theme I've seen - and I've been through pretty much all of them! Having the big video but also the transparent picture of the arcade cab, the box and the board, along with the info and clear logo - looks excellent. The marquee is of course a bonus. This work really needs to be finished, for the sake of the community! If I had the skills I would try and carry on with this work, though unfortunately I don't. I installed Microsoft Visual Studio to try and edit some themes but haven't even scraped the surface of that.
  20. Wow this theme looks amazing! Is it released yet? Also - what is that marquee screen?
  21. I don't think that the current spacing is too bad - though a slider to adjust the spacing would be a welcome addition to the customisation options. Theming LB Next, wow that sounds great! Didn't know about that.
  22. I just noticed that the total game count for my category "handhelds" is wrong. I only have 3 platforms under handhelds at the moment - Game Boy, Nintendo Game & Watch and Electronic Handheld Games. The latter 2 are playlists, with the "platform" for these playlists not listed under a category. Is this expected behaviour? Can I get the total game count to include these playlists I made?
  23. Also - it would be great if you could press "I" on the platform details screen to show the associated images, just like you can on the game details screen!
  24. Just to chip in here - I’ve not re-read all of the above - but proper thumbnail presentation in general is a bit of a pet issue of mine! The wonders of smooth and responsive scrolling through thumbnails with no latency.....aaaahhhh!! Really adds a feel of quality of the experience. The Apple Mac is generally good at this. I too would like LB to have a solid cache with no regeneration of thumbnails after they have initially been generated!
  25. I think the answer is to enable the "use file extension" option or something in the LB AAE emulator settings. Then it bypasses the AAE menu and goes straight into the game, and you can use bezels!
