  1. Just to add so you know all three scenarios: 1. Remove a playlist from appearing in Platform Filter in Big Box In LaunchBox, right click the playlist on the side panel, choose Edit. In Details Tab, uncheck "Include this Playlist with Platforms" 2. Remove a playlist from appearing in Platform Category filter in Big Box In LaunchBox, right click the playlist on the side panel, choose Edit, in Parents tab, uncheck all the boxes (this is also how you can place a playlist anywhere within your Platform Categories' hierarchy) 3. Remove the playlist from your library In LaunchBox, right click the playlist on the side panel, choose Delete. This will remove the playlist but not the games. The games will still be found in their platform.
  2. It was some kind of issue with the font itself, which is what I was theorizing on the stream. I loaded it into FontForge again and played around with more of the settings and generated a new font that actually worked.

GenesisMini was built during a Theme Workshop live stream. If you are interested in creating themes, subscribe to the Unbroken Software YouTube channel. GenesisMini This was more of a experiment and POC to see how well a Genesis Mini theme could be ported to the Big Box environment. This is not a fully fledge theme, but only 2 views, a basic platform view and a wall games view. The theme was designed using the COMMUNITY Theme Creator, along with some manual code changes with the wall view file in order to utilize the new wheel CoverFlow features not yet currently in the Theme Creator. 5. Give this one a try: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet/3.1 Make sure to download and install the .NET Desktop Runtime 3.1.19 (x64 version) - (the middle of the right column) Also, make sure that your Windows is up-to-date.
  6. If you can't solve the issue with your configuration, I'd recommend a new thread in the troubleshooting section. Hopefully, can get a bunch of suggestions there with more visibility.
  7. Hi @Asano, Right click your playlist and choose Edit. Click on the Parents tab and uncheck everything in there. That should do it. Also, within the Details tab, you can make sure you have unchecked "Include this Playlist with Platforms", if you don't want it to appears while in the Platform filter.

  10. Hi @Hollingsbee. I've never done it before, so I'm not sure if it's an easy process, but sounds like you want to change the Windows boot logo. You should be able to google it and see what the process would entail.

Thanks for the comments! There's actually a couple things going on here. There is a color that goes overtop the main background image. The change you see is the game's background image (if you have this turned on in the options). There's a blur effect that a user would also control for this image within the options as well. The only thing the user cannot control here is the color that goes overtop this image. This can be adjusted within the theme files itself. This is the same effect as in the default theme. When you see it "brighten" it's a white color that goes overtop the image to make your mouse over selection stand out a bit more. There may also be a Black color over the rest of the images to dim them out a little, but if there is, it would be very slight, and just for a little bit of color control. This is a tough one. Remember that any parent item can also be independently selected from its child. Therefore, how do you tell exactly which item you are selected if multiple items look the same? There's a possibility here for some changes, but would have to think on how to best handle that. Good idea, although I probably won't be including this in the main version of the theme. I'd be glad to help you out with doing this in PM. This should be controlled by a user's image priority setting and not theme specific. The theme itself is just telling it to put a background image in that spot. Go into Options > Background Priorities and deselect anything you don't want to see, like any of the box images. I usually try and put all the different Background images and a Screenshot - Gameplay image in there. The video will scale to the size of the window, with a max height, so it doesn't overtake the rest of the content. That max height can be adjusted in the theme files. The theme would not actually be controlling this. My guess is that either your Screenshot image priorities includes Cart images, or that the Cart image is mislabeled as a screenshot. A little investigation should clear that up for ya. Send me a PM and I can do my best to guide you through adding a new Tab in Game Details.
  12. Hi everyone, 12.0 beta 2 is now live with the following changes: New Feature: Marquee's now have an IsActive binding theme developers can use (binding will change when a game is/is not running) Improvement - Marquee videos can now play audio when Big Box is active (they will mute when it isn't) Improvement - Add/Edit Additional Application now uses Dialog Theming (dark mode) Improvement - Add/Edit Emulator has been reworked to look more like Add/Edit Game Fixed: Add/Edit Game window will now trim any trailing or leading spaces from string fields Fixed: Drag and dropping images to Add/Edit Game window, when you don't have any images already, is working again (introduced in 12.0 beta 1) Fixed: Added logic to restart the image queue if you get a 404 error (introduced in 11.18 beta 4) Fixed: Can now right click anywhere in the Add/Edit Games Notes to get the Copy/Paste menu (introduced in 12.0 beta 1) As always, please report any issues with the beta here, and thanks for your help in testing LaunchBox.
  13. Take this file and replace the one that's in this folder: LAUNCHBOX\Themes\COINOPS REDUX ThemeSettings.XML The Background Fade option should now function properly.
  14. Hi @Hollingsbee. You can do this on a per-platform basis in LaunchBox by right clicking your platform, choosing edit. In the Folders tab, change the Video path.
  15. I'll definitely keep that in mind for a future update.
  16. Just ran a few tests and seems like it all should still work. Send me a PM if you need help.
  17. Hi @Tempest. I just ran a test but am not seeing the double spacing issue. Do you have some examples of games where you are seeing this?
  18. Opt into beta within LaunchBox Options, under Updates. It should prompt you to update shortly after. If you then uncheck the beta option, you won't be prompted to update to another beta again.
  19. This will depend on the type of ROMs you have. They do come with the MAME full sets. If these are the ones you have, make sure you are using the ROM import wizard. Make sure you choose "Force importing duplicate games" and "Force using MAME metadata" when going through the wizard.
  20. Yes, there's some fixes in the beta for this. @vaderag You can upgrade to the beta and see if that fixes your issue, or wait until it gets officially released.
  21. Hi @Huckin The Dubz. Pulse is a custom theme that is forcing 2D Boxes to appear within its wheel. This is why you can't change the box using the Big Box setting, as it's designed to only work with a specific piece of code from the default theme that Pulse isn't utilizing. If you feel adventurous, you can dive into the View's code and make the following change. The files are located in: LaunchBox\Themes\Pulse\Views Looks like you are using one of the Horizontal views, open the one you are using and find the property: ImageType="Boxes" Change that to: ImageType="3D Boxes" Make the save and load up Big Box.
  22. There are many themes out there, but each theme can only have 1 Game Details View. The Default theme that comes with Big Box has the code necessary to utilize the Background Fade option. If you are using a custom theme, it may not work properly. Looks like this: If you like the effect, I can help you alter the code within the theme that you are using so you get the desired effect.
  23. You can try and remove the games from your library and re-import. All images should remain on your hard drive and they should re-associate with your games after import. Just make sure during the import wizard that you don't select any media to download. Just uncheck it all. It should re-import your games pretty quickly.
  24. There's a couple options I can think of. In Big Box Options, go to Views and find Background Fade. You can increase this to fade out the background enough for you to read the text. If you just want the part behind the text to be darker, you would have to create a custom theme and add a background to the parts that display text. If you would like to go through route I could do this for you. I'm assuming you are currently using the Default Theme.

    Version 1.72

    1,411 downloads

The newest version of this theme requires version 13.3, or higher. A LaunchBox Custom Theme I developed to help me understand the code behind themes. Because of this, most items within the XAML files are commented, which were added in order to help me keep track of what was going on. Sources of inspiration include the Lambda theme and GOG Galaxy. The notable item this theme accomplishes is the tab approach to the Game Details Page. Please feel free to use parts of this theme in your own creations. Installation Extract the Neptune folder into LaunchBox\LBThemes In LaunchBox, open Options, under Visuals > Main Window Theme and select Neptune from the dropdown.
