  1. Not how it is going to work properly. What Mame are you using? regular Mame, MameUI or Arcade64? Which ever version it is you need to open up the user interface and find the option to set a directory path. Then tell Mame the folder path to your Mame roms. Once set you should be able to open Mame click a working game and have it load. Once you confirm it is working directly in Mame than test in Launchbox.
  2. In mame directly (not using Launchbox) do the games play?
  3. Stand alone Mame would probably be easier than using RA for arcade games like Donkey Kong and such. Not that there is anything wrong with using Retroarch. But yes, first figure out Retroarch or even Mame if you choose that route. Get it set up, running, and make sure game work and controls. Then tackle the Launchbox piece.
  4. Looks good. So when you load the core and then go into the core information screen it shows those bios files as "missing"? Can you share a pic of that?
  5. Can you share an image of where you put them. The bios files should go in a folder named system in the Retroarch folder.
  6. Your Arcade (mame) issue is you do not have a core chosen. Like the other platforms listed you need to tell it what core to use for your Arcade platform. Sega CD make sure you have the bios files as was mentioned.
  7. Pro tip: 1. Set up your emulator of choice for the system you want emulate first. 2. Test the games launch correctly and your controls work inside of the emulator. 3. Then once you confirm it all works there add the emulator to Launchbox, then import your games. Doing this will ensure that if for some reason when you launch a game from within Launchbox/BigBox if the games do not work, we can eliminate it easily from being an emulator issue and go right to troubleshooting your Launchbox set up. Many time users will tell us it does not work only to find out they never set the emulator up correctly.
  8. Just downloaded a fresh version and tested. It is working. I did notice from platform to platform there was some occasional lag, but no crashes like @Edulnmigrante mentioned.
  9. Did you turn it off for all emulators or just the emulator you were using for Genesis games? Were there other emulators/games you had issue with?
  10. Just looking at Genesis games, if you go in BigBox and go the the Startup themes menu and turn off Startups will the Genesis games work? If not turn it off in the settings inside Launchbox and the settings inside BigBox as they each have a setting and see if that helps.
  11. Check and see if you have "Enable All Controllers" checked and if so uncheck and see if that helps.
  12. If you have any luck or even if after tweaking it still does not work please report back. We are keeping a log here.
  13. Edited: Neil got you covered in his response.
  14. Yes. When you edit an individual emulator you can turn on/off Pause themes as well as Startup themes. You can also bulk edit games and do this. Helpful in the case of windows games or any that do not use an emulator.
  15. Sound like you are hitting a key combo that is flipping the screen rotation in Windows. CTRL+ATL+Arrow keys on some computers can rotate the screen. If this is the case you may need to lock the rotation in Windows. I know my laptop does this and I had to lock the rotation. It is an option under the Display settings in windows.
  16. Glad you figured it out. There are quite a few of us here that use 8Bitdo and so far no real issues with them in Launchbox or BigBox.
  17. There is no patreon to contribute. You can support the dev by purchasing a license (annual or lifetime). Save states are currently in place. However, it is more a case of if the emulator (such as within Mame, Retroarch, etc...) has a save state function built in you can now load/save from within the new Pause Screen feature built into Launchbox/BigBox.
  18. Well at least we know it is not playing nice with Startups for you. It is working for me, I just tested in BigBox from the Pause menu. I get about 2 second black screen before I see the shutdown window, but it works. I do not use Kega so the emulators setting for me are just the stock settings. Not sure if maybe you have a setting changed in Kega that may be the difference. Here are what I have set in Launchbox for it. The Running AHK and Exit AHK tabs are empty.
  19. Are you using Startup themes in LB/BB? If so try turning that off in Launchbox for Kegafusion and see if it helps. Just tested it on the latest stable version of LB with Startup themes and it closes fine.
  20. It is actually recommended to not run Launchbox as admin. I believe there are quite a few users the have games mapped to a network drive. I do not, so I cannot really give any assistance on torubleshooting, but wanted to mention the admin rights point.
  21. If you right click and edit any one of those games then choose the download images/media button on the bottom right will it download the data? I just tested a few of those games and get no errors.
  22. That code just tells the program to recognize Escape key as command to close emulator. Launchbox’s controller automation should send Escape key to close the game. So when you set up your buttons in that section of Launchbox it works to basically say “If I hold this button and press this button send Escape”. There a lots of us using same style setup as you and it works just fine.
  23. Do your joysticks replicate keystrokes or game controller buttons? Either way, Using the built in controller or keyboard automation from Launchbox works with Demul. In your Demul setup from the Launchbox emulator edit screen put this AHK in the Running AHK tab. Then set your controller or keyboard automation buttons in Launchbox settings. $Esc:: { Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}} }
  24. I think the point of not setting it to 1 is to get some type of average. Personally, I would hate to have someone to come along and randomly rate games 5 stars that are junk games and with just the 1 rating those games get ordered at the top of my list if sorted by highest rating.
  25. RA works fine with Launchbox as long as you set RA up correctly. It could just be a simple setting missed. Without Launchbox can you run your Sega CD games directly in Retroarch?
