There should not be anything to change settings wise. As long as the image name matches the name of the playlist or platform and you are putting them in the themes images folders it should work next time you restart BigBox. Just to be clear are you using Unified or Unified Redux?

@wildpumpk1n Your pics show a couple different things. 1. The games image pic shows your Arcade platform is in Text Game view. Full screen videos for this theme do not work in Text view. Vertical Wheel 4 is the view for fullscreen. In your settings it does show you have chosen Vertical Wheel 4. However, you also have "Remember Separate View for each Platform" checked which means each system platform can have a different view so one could be on Vert Wheel 4 while another could be on Text. This is probably why you are not actually seeing the correct view. Either uncheck that option and set all to Vert Wheel 4. Or if you want to have the option checked make sure you have a button or key mapped to "Change View" that way you can set each platform to the view you want separately.

Per Jason's post in this thread it is not something that will easily be updated. Here is his post from that thread in case you do not want to search for it.

Are you going into controller settings or keyboard mappings? Those are two different things and if setting a keyboard you need to use the keyboard mapping option.

Launchbox is more the pc side (gamepad/keyboard) of things and BigBox (though usable with keyboard and gamepad) is more the arcade cabinet side and better with arcade joystick. I have never bothered with seeing if a joystick can be used in Launchbox since I only use it for configuration/set-up. As for your button mappings not working as coin and 1P buttons that is specific to the emulator and not anything that Launchbox or BigBox controls.

i just tested what I have setup. In your display configuration in Snes9x is it set to D3D or OpenGL? If so try ticking the box for "Emulate Fullscreen" and see if that changes anything. I have that set in mine and it works. If I untick it the menu bar shows up and I have to hit Esc to hide it.
-
Are you using Windows 10? If so, right click the snes9x exe and in properties then compatibility check the box for disable fullscreen optimization and see if that helps. I have seen that mentioned before here and it worked form some users.

Thanks @IlhanK I like what you did. I was able to get coded what I needed shortly after my post.

If you manually add a platform what you named that platform really would not matter if you have the "scrape as" set to the system name. Right click the platform name and see what the scrape as name is set to. Adding a new platform using the game import wizard is a safer process to ensure something is not set up wrong. Like CDBLue said with the associated platforms all you have to do is type the platform name. You are not bound by what might show up as default. You can manually type in any platform name you created and added to Launchbox.

I just added custom images for favorites playlists for my kids and no issues with Unified showing them. Png files placed in the specific pointers, borders, and background folders. LaunchBox\Themes\Unified\Images\Theme Is the 64 HD the only one giving you issues? Do you have any other custom platforms and do they show the images?

Yeah I doubted it would, but figure worth a mention. Seen some strange things posted in our forum...like speakers not being plugged into a pc affecting Mame not working.

I am no way an expert on this but I remember some earlier posts this year with 4KTV issues and that 30Hz was the problem. Setting it to 60Hz fixed it for other uses. I cannot remember if it was the partial screen issue you are having, but setting 60Hz and see if it changes anything. I notice in @neil9000 image he has 60Hz set.

double dragon iv LB database acess error [new info] not solved
Retro808 replied to Undertherainbow's topic in Troubleshooting
That is pretty odd. Like Neil I tried the link several times and on my laptop no issue. Even tried like you said in Chrome and Firefox. I have seen before someone post about similar error, but it was any access to the GamesDB site. -

You were not trouble....but yes, your second post was more specific than your first since the pic showed the error. You sorted so all is good. -
double dragon iv LB database acess error [new info] not solved
Retro808 replied to Undertherainbow's topic in Troubleshooting
Specifics about the type of error or what you were trying to do that gave the error would help. The link you pasted opens fine so no error there. I see the thread title says database access error but access how? -
Vert Wheel 2 should show disc image and Vert Wheel 3 should show spinning disc image. I would check the Cart Front Image priorities showing in LaunchBox and make sure disc image is an option ticked.
-
I do not believe an option exists to start at the last game, but there is an option in BigBox General settings to "Remember Last Game Each Platform" (or something similar). I do not use it so not sure how well it works, but might be worth giving it a test.

In the first pic uncheck the boxes for "Don't use quote" and "Use file name only".
-
That used to be pretty common before Jason added the drop down list for the cores. Glad you got one sorted. Now to fix arcade.

And both Mame and Retroarch will launch games outside of Launchbox correct? If so something is disconnected in Launchbox. Can you share some pics. In the edit emulators screen for Arcade can share share a pic of the Emulator Details tab and the Associated Platforms tab. Then choose a game and edit. Share an image of the Launcher tab and the Emulation tab.
-
In Launchbox go to manage emulators than choose either of the emulators and edit. In the associate platform tab make sure for Mame you have the name of the Arcade platform listed and as well for Retroarch you have the name of the GBA platform listed. The names need to be exactly as you have the platform named in Launchbox. For example if the platform in Launchbox is name Nintendo Game Boy Advance in the associated platform field it would need to be listed as Nintendo Game Boy Advance. If you alter the name it will not link them. Also what Mame are you using? MameUI, Arcade64, or the command line version of Mame?

Playlist for All Console Racing Genre
Retro808 replied to studaloble's topic in Playlists & Playlist Media
Just leave the "Platform" field out and it will pull all Racing from all platforms. To edit the auto generated playlists you have to uncheck to "Auto-Populate This Playlist" button. -
I would recommend making a BitBucket so the community can vote. If you really want a new feature added this will be the best avenue that way Jason can see how many users are voting to have it implemented. Request a feature

Tried the default theme, Bad Old Monkey and LBPlex Condensed and not getting the dotted lines like you are.

custom created Platform will not allow alphabetical searching
Retro808 replied to infidelity's topic in Troubleshooting
You are talking about in BigBox correct? What version are you using? Just tested all the playlists (the auto-created ones from Launchbox are actually playlists not platforms) on my setup and both the ones Launchbox creates and the ones I create work with the search bar function. Tested both autopopulated and manually populated playlists.
