If you have front and back box images it allows you to see the front box image and then flip to see the back box image.

Second monitor marquee: Change image to ClearLogo instead of Boxart
Retro808 replied to hardin81's topic in Troubleshooting
Yeah, copying them into the marquee folder is by far a best option as you increase image space taken up, but that way allows you to keep your box front properties as they should be and not affect how box fronts appear in other areas. -
Second monitor marquee: Change image to ClearLogo instead of Boxart
Retro808 replied to hardin81's topic in Troubleshooting
I do not think it can really be altered on the user end directly. It does not appear to really be a theme thing unless the theme coder made it such, but many themes do not have the GameMarqueeView.xml file. I think it is how Jason programmed BigBox, it looks for the marquee folders and then defaults to other folders if images are absent from the marquee folder (not 100% confident in that statement ). Another option (but it doubles up images) is to copy all your clear logos into each systems marquee folder. -
@DOS76 tip would definitely be the best then. It will reduce amount of movement you would have to do.
-
True the windows feature is another way to add multiple folders (multiple ways to skin a cat ). I was only advising on how to with the wizard since that was the images posted. I did mention it was in the wizard in my steps for adding multiple folders.

That first image looks like your roms are all in individual folders for each game. Is that correct? Launchbox imports only the files not the folders. You will need each game rom in one main folder. You can have them in their own folder but you then have to make sure each game folder is added to the list in the wizard using add folder option.
-
Do you have your roms in the default \Launchbox\Games folder or in a different folder? You have to make sure you have the path set for your roms in Launchbox if it is in a folder other than the default Launchbox\Games folder. Highlight a platform and right click, edit on the name. In the folders tab you need to change the default games folder path to where you have your roms. Also it may not work if in the folder each game has its own subfolders. I believe Launchbox will only search a main folder for the rom files. All my PS1 files are in a single PS1 folder.

LB won't download proper platform theme
Retro808 replied to hollywoodmonstrose's topic in Troubleshooting
The app is the only spot for the BigBox cinematix themes. Just tested and was able to download each of the 3 versions available and each time it overrode the existing version. You are putting a check in the download box after you choose the version you want, correct? -
In Launchbox go to Tools>Options>Background Priorities. Uncheck any that you do not want showing.
-
Not sure what is going on. I was just able to download some media from EmuMovies through Launchbox. I was even able to log out of it and then back in with no issues.
-
I believe so. I have not seen a way to just use year in the metadata fields within Launchbox.
-
Would all depend on how much you are actually downloading and also SD or HD videos. I have about 3.1GB (1.8GB video / 1.3GB images) on only 210 NES games in my Launchbox.
-
That screen cap he posted is for the Game DB website. It is not from within Launchbox. Launchbox does not give you the option for just year only when it comes to the game's metadata.
-
Have you tried the most recent mame version (0.196)? Not sure how old your roms are since you chose to try a 2003 version of mame, but you asked for advice on a new version and 0.196 is the newest. Controllers/gamepads are typically pretty easy to set but with so many options out there and not too mention all the generic options there may be a config setting you have to fix.

You cannot really convert a playlist to a platform since playlists are only reading the roms of the arcade folder it does not actually separate them out. If you are using the playlist route then you need to do as @neil9000 mentioned in his post after mine (see below) Now that you have the SNK Neo Geo playlist just open that playlist highlight all those games and change the emulator from Retroarch to the one that you created called NeoGeo. The one you posted pics of in your first post. If you deleted the emulator recreate it. Make sure in the associated platforms to enter the platform tab to enter your correct core.
-
Ahh yes playlist option would require less pain in copying out roms from a folder.
-
Just separate the roms into unique platforms and tell each platform to use the correct Retroarch core. That's all you need to do. You don't even need a separate emulator. Just updated the associated platforms tab in your Retroarch manage emulators screen to include the Arcade and SNK Neo Geo MVS (or whatever you call it) platforms and assign the cores. Just make sure the names you enter in the associated platforms field matches exactly how you named the platform. So the associated platforms tab of your Retroarch would have lines looking something like this:

SOme Playstation 1 games will not work in big box
Retro808 replied to ManGrissle's topic in Troubleshooting
Well looks like I cannot be of much help. I have pbp files for those two games and they load fine. So I cannot test bin/cue style files for you. Sorry about that.- 45 replies

SOme Playstation 1 games will not work in big box
Retro808 replied to ManGrissle's topic in Troubleshooting
You say only some do not work. Can you name a few so maybe we can test? Also on the ones that do not work did you right click and edit the game and make sure it imported the .cue file and not the .bin?- 45 replies

The problem is you are not using the correct command line for a custom config in Retroarch. To use a custom config you need the "-c "config\[custom config name here]" command. So it should look like this:

Did you recently update anything or move anything? Do the games run if you launch them directly in mame?

Need help getting WinUAE to work with Rocket Launcher's Multigame
Retro808 replied to AnonymousMOS's topic in Emulation
Since you have not received any responses to either of your posts on this issue with RocketLauncher I would suggest posting directly on the RocketLauncher forum. I wish we could be of more help but I do not believe any of the mods really use RL and there are only a small handful of forum members that use it that post somewhat frequently. Since they have not responded you may get a faster answer directly with the RocketLauncher folks.- 2 replies

I do not think you can. In Launchbox if you untick all items in your Tools\Options\Background Priorities then it will only show your custom background of choice. That fixes it in a way. The problem is those settings also affect BigBox. The default background option seems like a fall back in case any of your games do not have an image to meet your background priorities. Maybe one of the other mods may know a way, but I have not messed with it enough to be sure.

How can I properly display Marquee images on custom cut LCD screen?
Retro808 replied to Carnovash's topic in Troubleshooting
Does the marquee monitor only display the images offset like that in BigBox? In other words if you simply open an image from a folder on the marquee monitor does it display as you want it or display in the same habit as if it was opened in BigBox? I cannot help too much with trouble shooting of custom LCD shape as I only use a 29" Ultrawide as my marquee that displays in 21:9 (2560x1080) so BigBox has no issue with it.
