C64 Games not working in Retroarch with LB/BB
Retro808 replied to snarfo67's topic in Troubleshooting
@snarfo67 Don't sweat it. Like @neil9000 said we have definitely seen it before. Missing quotation mark, 3 L's in .dll, missing space, missing "-". You are sorted that is all that matters. -
That core no longer exists. It is recommended to use standalone Mame. I would take a look at this post. The bios for coleco when used in Mame will need to be zipped.
-
Same here as @Lordmonkus Windowed Fullscreen set to off.
-
yeah I have the iPac. The Xarcade is a keyboard as well so I am not sure why the normal Mame configuration in RA is not working for you. Can you post a couple pics of what a game looks like and pics of your video settings? Maybe I can replicate it on my test pc.
-
I would download a new RA and put it in a different folder. then download only the Playstation core, copy your bios into that folders \system folder and test. If it works well then you know something is corrupt in the original folder.
-
If you go into the \cores folder of your Retroarch do you see the core .dll there? Should be something like mednafen_psx_libretro.dll If it is showing in RA in your list of cores to load it should be but just figured check in case.
-
For PS1 you just need to make sure you have the correct bios in the \system folder of your Retroarch structure. There are several out there SCPH1001.bin (I think this is the older PSX bios), SCPH5500.bin, SCPH5501.bin, SCPH5502.bin you need the correct one for your roms.

Welcome to Launchbox and the forums. Edited: I see @neil9000 beat me to the punch again We recommend setting up RA and making sure your roms all work before importing into LB. That way if it does not work after import it is easy to tell if it is a Launchbox issue or an RA/Roms issue.

You should probably share what type of encoder you are using than so those that have the same one will know to do what you did. With my iPac and the Xarcade I simply launch a game and hit Tab and set everything up just like I would in standalone mame. Under the \saves\Mame folder RA will generate a default.cfg as well as inidividual game .cfg files if you set specific machine controls. RA retains and launches those controls regardless of what is set in the RA input menu. For the aspect ratio I cannot say. I have mine set to core provided and no matter what game I launch it launches as it should. Are you using a custom aspect or just "core provided"?

Works fine with my arcade cabinet controllers. The bartops and the standup.

C64 Games not working in Retroarch with LB/BB
Retro808 replied to snarfo67's topic in Troubleshooting
Definitely something missing in your Launchbox set-up causing a disconnect. I did not have C64 loaded in my arcade but I just set it up and tested 2 games and they launched fine through Launchbox. I would say post a couple pics of the Emulator Details tab and Associated Platform tab from the manage emulators screen just so we can see if we notice anything. -
I would also recommend hoping onto their reddit/forum/discord and reading/researching as Cemu requires tinkering. I have been recently messing around with specific game graphics packs as some are non-resolution fixes and their site has been helpful in navigating through all the tinkering you can do.

@faeran Another great addition to your theme set. Keep 'em coming!

Fix for BigBox freezing after Automated Close
Retro808 replied to iamsiincere's topic in Troubleshooting
I use the below script anytime I have issues closing and need an AHK script to close. Currently have it on a few emulators on my test pc and It closes well with no pop up error showing up. The delay allows it so random button mashers do not accidentally close the emulator when playing. This is set for my 8Bitdo "Select" (hold) and "Start" (action) buttons so you would have to figure what your controller buttons are. Joy11:: If GetKeyState("Joy12") { SetKeyDelay, -1, 110 Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}} } Return -
That's what @neil9000 was advising. You can have game details screen off as default and then set a key for it in BigBox. When you launch a game the details will not show. When you scroll and stop on a game if you do want to see the details to remove or add to favs you then just hit the key you set. This gives you the option to only see the game details screen if you hit the key you set. Otherwise it will not be shown if you just launch a game.

Steam import is currently broken with Launchbox right now. There are a few threads in this subforum on the issue. Here is a recent one. Hopefully a decision on the issue will happen soon.

Yes, just paste that script @Lordmonkus gave you into the AHK tab of the edit emulators. I have a Tankstick and that is the script I use. As you said change the "4" and "2" to what you want. That script is set to right pinball bumper and player 2 start. In Retroarch quick menu will not work to change key bindings for the tankstick since it is a keyboard not a controller. Just load a core or a game and go into the full menu (not quick menu) go over to the gear icon and then go into the input and set your controls there (input player 1 and input player 2). Then once done back out of the gear icon setting and go into Quick Menu and choose "Save Core Override" this will set it for the core and not affect to base controls you may have set. Also any emulator that allows you to set an exit command I do so in the emulator as well such as Mame and Retroach. Not needed as the AHK works but I set it for when I am testing in the emulator.

The taste is having them play on your fully set-up BigBox so they can see its full glory and bask in your awesome set-up . Then give them the files you mentioned before and tell them to support Launchbox with a license.

SNES won't load in Launchbox with RetroArch
Retro808 replied to FakedPotato's topic in Troubleshooting
Double check the command line for the core it is loading in Launchbox manage emulators. Many times we have noticed something spelled wrong or something missing. If all looks right to you share pics of the manage emulators screen showing the emulator details tab and the associated platforms tab. Also go to a game and right click, edit then share a pic showing the launcher and emulation tabs there. -
Complete as in what specifically? Complete for all systems? Complete for a particular system?
