I was answering a question for someone who asked what functionality isn't in the Next version I definitely wasn't complaining about it and  I'm well aware of what is going on.

Hey bro, this is just a Beta, Jason said that those functions will be applied in further updates

Yes he was answering a question I had.

This isn't an either / or situation. Right now Launchbox Next is just there as a preview and testing but eventually it will replace the regular Launchbox with all the functionality it always had as well as the new features that are coming.

Hey bro, he's a mod, he was explaining what's currently missing to the person who asked.

Will there be a Bigbox. Next ?

Pretty much all Big Box needs for a GUI refresher is a new theme, so probably not. Big Box is already pretty modern across the board tech-wise. There's certainly plenty we can do to add to it and probably performance improvements we can make (not to mention all the feature requests and items from the poll), but I don't think starting over on the Big Box interface is a good idea or would gain us any real ground. After all, LaunchBox.Next is basically built on the same tech as Big Box (WPF and a lot of the underlying Big Box code).

To the moderators out there, your insane dedication to this community should be applauded. The success of LaunchBox is not only attributed to Jason's work, but is also due to the enormous amount of time you guys spend answering questions on this forum. You people have my greatest respect and appreciation!

in addition, a huge round of applause to all those who took the time to develop Themes, Videos, Plugins and add on content that all fit seamlessly into BigBox.

Okay since we are shouting out every one I'd like to send some love over to all the DB mods and users who contribute stuff over there because they are also responsible for making the program and community great.

The LB Next looks nice.  It's difficult to test or really comment on it until the menus are available, but looks promising.  I'm hoping it will stimulate a lot more LB development as it had really taken a back seat.  One suggestion that would help, even in early testing, would be a button to return to desktop LB.

Beta 5 is out now folks. The main menu (hamburger icon) is now partially implemented (Tools and Help menu are still empty, and some items will pop up a message saying "Coming soon"). We're getting there...

Beta 6 is out, though it's only fixes for this beta. I'm hoping the issue that some users are experiencing where the games list is empty on initial startup is fixed. Please let me know if anyone is still seeing that issue.
