  1. Yes. Though Big Box is far easier to navigate and use with a controller than LaunchBox, but navigating LaunchBox should be possible with the controller but isn't near as intuitive or easy to use as Big Box would be. A 1 year license unlocks premium features in all versions of LaunchBox released during that year or prior (for forever). If you update to a version that was released AFTER your license expiration date you will lose the ability to use premium features in LaunchBox and be unable to utilize Big Box until you renew or upgrade your license.
  2. You don't ever update MAME without updating your ROM set as well. Your MAME rom set and MAME emulator need to be the same version number to work properly
  3. This is a known issue currently which is why we get your play time for Steam from Steam directly instead of using our own system. The play time tracker tracks how long the process we start is left open. Steam has that stupid little launching window that is the launching process instead of the game directly so the application thinks you closed the app 2s later and adjusts the time as such.

    Big Details

Increase your vertical spacing in the options
  5. @Dabil To do what you want you need to use a different theme/view combination for Arcade than the other platforms. To do this in Big Box Options go to the Views tab and check "Remember view for each platform" (or something similar). Then you're going to want to bind something to "Change Theme" and "Change View". Navigate to arcade platform then use the two buttons to find a Theme / View that displays ONLY the background video in the background. That should do for you what you are asking (or least how I understand it).
  6. Endless is "complete" and is simply a visual decision. We decided intentionally to still allow wrap around navigation for ease of use on the user and to make sure attract mode still worked properly with that set to false. Regarding a plugin not working, you will need to reach out to the plugin dev and see if they can help. We don't have access to their code to really do much about it.
  7. That drop down is only used when you are adding a new platform to the emulator you selected. When adding the platform to the associated platforms tab for you we use your selection to properly fill it in. We have updated the code to help make this more clear by only displaying that drop down when it is actually required to help avoid confusion. Should see the change in the next beta release.

    Big Details

Sounds like something didn't get extracted properly. I just checked the archive uploaded and that image is in there.
  9. And if you use the new Steamy LB theme you can access those documents/instructions right from game details when using ListView. Use it for a lot of my MS-DOS games that have companion books that are referenced in the game. Open them before I start it.
  10. Need to scroll to the right to get the actual reason the download failed (as you have been told before). All of these URLs are from EmuMovies so you may be having issues connecting or downloading from them.
  11. I've removed the last set of comments as they didn't add anything worthwhile to this thread. Please keep drama from other forums out of ours.
  12. I would check your page file settings then. I've not seen this error before, but did a quick search when you posted and every article I came across stated this was thrown when the OS was trying to access RAM and couldn't. The error box also isn't one we use in the application so I knew the error was being thrown by the OS and not us. You could attempt to look in Windows Event Viewer to see if there are logs in there that may help narrow down what is causing it as well.
  13. This isn't a LaunchBox error. This is your operating system telling you that you don't have enough RAM to open the executable you want to open.
  14. Open up LaunchBox, go to the Sidebar and make sure you're in Platform Category view. Find the category in question, right click on it and select edit. On the right hand side of the window that just opened up is where you view and add images for this category. Drag the image you want to that box if it isn't there already (or use the Add Image button). Then set the image type to clear logo. Press OK to save. Then clear cache in Big Box and try again.
  15. You need to be in Platform Category filter to see those options. If you are in Platform Category you can right click any platform and have it create playlists based on certain fields. If you right click the Arcade platform (NOT the category) there is also another option that is similar to "Create Missing Arcade/MAME Playlists". That option creates the playlists made typically on import. Note though the new vertical/chd playlists are created by that process at this time.
  16. Tools > Options. I believe the tab you need is simply called "Updates" (or however that translates). Should be a check box in there to turn it off.
  17. Would be far better served asking on the Music Box Alpha Forums than you will be here.
  18. Thought process was that we'd rather NOT make two new fields for Games and Apps that is only really useable for one emulator/platform. We also can't reacquire the data after the fact since MAME may no longer be installed, and getting that data from MAME takes a pretty considerable amount of time. This way gives users the tools to do so if they want, without burdening those that don't.
  19. Was able to replicate some of the reports regarding file suffix number being wrong and the limiter not properly limiting number of items downloads. Both should be resolved before released.
  20. There should be a record in your Windows Event Viewer under Application Errors that can be used to help shed some light on what's happening.
  21. The new CHD/Vertical playlists are manual playlists. We utilize information given to us by MAME to put the games in the appropriate playlist. If you want to filter or further use those games in an auto-populate playlist you would need to go to that playlist, select all the items, then add a custom field to them for that data.
  22. Just do the search in Windows File explorer and then drag the files to LaunchBox and import them
  23. Both LaunchBox and Big Box already do this. As long as you have multiple emulators with that game's platform listed in it's associated platform you have the option to choose between emulators. In LaunchBox you right click and selected "Play with..." in Big Box the option should be available in the Game Details screen (which is possible to skip so you need to either turn skip off to use this, or have a key bound to "View Game Details")
  24. Pretty sure Batocera uses media with the same name as the rom file. If this is true you just drag the image to the appropriate folder inside of \\LaunchBox\Images\{PlatformName}\ and it should see them automatically and use them. You'll want to do it with LaunchBox closed though
  25. CoverBox CTC has been released so should scratch that itch and then some
