PLAYLIST IDEA: Do you ever get overwhelmed by the amount games?
Jason Carr replied to kerszr's topic in Monkeys
Not a bad idea @drphobus. Might be tricky but hopefully we can look into that when we implement them. -
PLAYLIST IDEA: Do you ever get overwhelmed by the amount games?

Haven't worked out those details yet @kerszr, but I know some people have requested the option to include the playlists with the platforms. -
PLAYLIST IDEA: Do you ever get overwhelmed by the amount games?
Jason Carr replied to kerszr's topic in Monkeys
It's actually planned guys. I plan to get rid of the current custom filters solution and replace it with a playlists solution. -
I will be taking some time off, but still planning on working next week for the most part. Live streams should be on. I may take some time off the week after Christmas though.

Alright guys, beta 27 is out. I'm calling this one the release candidate. As long as no major bugs are found, we'll go ahead and release 7.0 tomorrow. Any testing you guys can do would be appreciated. @andyco47 Sure, it's on the list; hopefully we can get to it soon enough. @Rod Thanks for the good news on AHK.
-
Yup, definitely planned, just hasn't made it in quite yet. I agree that we should do it soon though.

Thanks Wolf, just fixed this for the next beta.

Thank you very much guys; new beta is out with all new translations.

Guidance on creating a BigBox Theme
Jason Carr replied to billyc999's topic in Big Box Custom Themes
Ah, thanks for pointing that out, Cid. I indeed forgot about adding the new views to the project file. -
Good news, guys. New beta is out with AHK already added back in. We're now just using the AutoHotkey.exe file, which is not against the terms of the GPL. A new folder called AutoHotkey will show up in the LaunchBox folder with the EXE and license inside of it.
-
Thanks guys, I think we'll end up re-integrating AutoHotkey, just with the standalone EXE version instead of the DLL. It's exceedingly stupid that it's perfectly legal to use it one way and not the other, but such are the terms of the GPL. I will tackle that tomorrow. I'd rather not make everyone have to re-make their scripts. @WolfRamiO, that makes more sense. I'll take a look tomorrow.

Yes, potentially I can, but before we go down that path I want to make sure that that is the solution we want to take. That will require some development to implement (the previous work we had done is ancient and wouldn't fit into the current code, not to mention it had some numerous issues). So I want to re-evaluate things to come up with the best solution. We've had a ton of controller issues with AutoHotkey, and I understand that AutoIt is a more flexible option and also has a less restrictive license, so that's one possible idea.
-
So it's been a relatively difficult evening, guys. It was pointed out to us that we were in violation of the GPL with our use of AutoHotkey. Unfortunately I've had to immediately remove it and a new beta is out that does not contain AutoHotkey. We're in no legal trouble (which is what we're ultimately avoiding). I've also gone through every single other library we're using with a fine-toothed comb to confirm that we don't have any more of these issues. Unfortunately for now it means that I've had to remove the AutoHotkey functionality. By default, the only functionality this was providing was to ensure that the Escape key worked to close certain emulators. However, you were of course able to tweak the AutoHotkey scripts, and that custom functionality has now been removed. I will be working to add similar features back in very soon.

Coverflow not smooth on powerful computer
Jason Carr replied to Immortal Chortle's topic in Troubleshooting
Trust me when I say that the difference in performance between Win7 and Win10 is substantial. That said, I do recognize that CoverFlow performance needs improved even on Win10. It's smooth on high-end systems but quickly degrades on lower hardware levels. I'll come back to this at some point soon to see if I can speed it up. -
Thank you guys! @dukeemu I'll look into that DownloadPlatformVideosForm issue.

Try deleting your VLC folder, @Kriven. It may be that VLC got corrupted because we were trying some different versions with the betas. Let me know if that fixes anything. The VLC folder should be re-created on startup.
-
...just tried like 5 different themes and had zero issues. What themes are you testing? Unfortunately I can't ever help unless people give me the necessary details.
-
@kmoney's stack trace error above should hopefully be fixed as well.

Alright guys, new beta is out with a bunch more performance improvements, this time for LaunchBox bulk edits, deletes, and game populations, which pretty much affects all of LaunchBox. Also fixed some various bugs, but most notably issues where games were not being deleted properly (and would remain in the collection on a restart). This was mostly happening when deleting entire platforms and deleting games that did not have a platform attached. This beta also now includes @CriticalCid's CriticalZone theme in the default install.
-
Thanks all. New beta is out that just fixes a bunch of random obscure bugs from Bitbucket, as well as the error @cammelspit posted.

Thank you @AFaustini! Much appreciated.
