  1. If it was the .Net upgrade, then waiting for the official probably wont fix that, but there's no real easy way of knowing. I'll tag @Jason Carr, because he could ask you specifically about something that changed. Did you go from Beta 4 to Beta 5, or something previous?
  2. There is also a 4:3 / low res theme as well, if you'd like to try that out in the long run.
  3. There is in BB, and I thought so too in LB, but it doesn't look like it. This would make a great BitBucket request though, so if you could request it by clicking Issues/Requests at the top of the forums I would appreciate it.
  4. No, the file shouldn't be read only. I just tested, and changed my User ID to a fake name, clicked ok and it saved. Changed my User ID back and that also saved. My Password didn't change, but im sure it would if It was correct, but it was a fake ID test. So I would still be leaning towards a permissions error.
  5. There currently isn't one right now, but Jason is aware of it and wants to change it.
  6. The higher the internal resolution the more power it will require of your PC. So if a game slows down and it never did before, that can be why. x2 shouldn't take too much more and give an immense boost, but you can obviously go higher.
  7. There is also software out there that can do it too. There are various ways and tons of threads about it.
  8. That's strange. Are you on the latest version of your OS and do you have all of your drivers updated? Past that, where is your LB located? Also, deleting the cache wont hurt anything, so you can shut down LaunchBox, delete your cache folder (in your LB folder), and open LB again. The images and text are all held within the cache, so if it's not writing properly (can depend on if you have write permissions wherever its installed), or if it's corrupted, or if your drive is failing, you can easily delete it and test it. If everything is updated and you've already deleted it once and checked, then moving your LB install to another hard drive completely is another step. This will do two things, move it out of your C drive which is notorious for write permission issues and check against your C drive potentially going bad.

    PC Games

I would actually say that most games shouldn't require an AHK script. It should be treated mostly like a Steam client. For sure there will be games that require special set up, but I don't know about a section on the forums. The Wiki would be a good place for it, but that's still under renovation. As for importing, there should be a PC selection there when dragging and dropping the shortcuts or exe's (shortcuts would be better because then the names are proper at least, but then you obviously can't remove the shortcuts), but as long as you use bulk edit on your PC platform later, you can remove the need for an emulator. I don't think the DOSBox selection is in the bulk editor (I can't remember), but the emulator flag is. Select emulator from the first drop down, then leave the second blank. So, it should do it from the start, but that's an easy workaround.
  10. Yes, it's called Image Priorities and it's a LB Premium feature. In the LB options menu, on the left, there are various Priorities categories. I have mine set up to use the box types first, then 3D boxes, then title screen. You can set them up in various orders for various categories.
  11. If you want to control LaunchBox / Big Box with any connected controller, there's an option in the controls menu to enable the software to see and use all controllers. This may cause other issues, but there's no way to know for sure. Otherwise, if you're talking for Emulators then that's something you need to set up with each individual emulator.
  12. Where is your LaunchBox located? If it's on your C drive, do you have proper write permissions with Windows? Is the Settings XML read only? You could back up the Settings.xml, delete the original and launch LB again. It will remove a lot of your settings, but if it's not saving properly it will at the very least reset things and hopefully work from there forward. You are trying to make these changes to the XML's when LB is closed, right? If it's open, it wont work right.
  13. Then if the API is up, then the login info might have been put in wrong or there is a connection issue. Go to Tools -> Options -> EmuMovies on the left. You can change the login information there. EM is working for me in LB too.
  14. Yes, it is on their end. Their website is a different server from their API and FTP.
  15. If you remove a playlist, it only removes the playlist and not the games. All of those games are still in the platform. If you remove the games from the platform, then it removes them from your LB install. You can set up custom playlists all you want, including to auto-generate based on info you give it. The Arcade auto-generation feature is optional (you can uncheck it during it import), and only makes playlists based on the board differences that a lot of people like to put their Arcade games in to.
  16. I tried to use HS and RL forever ago before LaunchBox (so, something like 3 or so years ago?), but no, not since. It's not "fear", it's the truth for me. Whats added is not worth the hassle. The only thing I want would be Overlays, and I use RA most of the time, so I'd take care of it in there if I wanted to. I also use MAME / MESS which is also very easy to set up Overlays.
  17. Because I seriously do not want to mess around with it. It adds nothing for me and my time is valuable.
  18. Their API goes down from time to time. Just wait a little while and it should be back up.
  19. Just like anything else it's gotta be requested on our BitBucket.
  20. Which one did you change it to, VLC? If you were on WMP before then chances are you'll need to install the K-Lite Codec Pack in order to properly use WMP again if you need to switch back. http://www.codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_standard.htm
  21. I would lean towards the Creators Update too, that caused some issues. I honestly upgraded with no issue besides it wanting to uninstall a few programs, but everything else was fine on my end. I've seen many issues after the update though, and only a few solutions MIGHT fix the problem for some people.
  22. Yes, they work just fine in the format. I have all of mine in WBFS (manually converted) for my real Wii / U, and they work just fine in Dolphin. It could be that a few games have performance issues because they don't like being in the container, but as far as I know that's not a problem.
  23. Yea, you don't need RL to exit a script when you're done with it... AHK is very very powerful.
