  1. Assuming your 2 PC's are networked together if you have images you prefer on one PC you can copy them over to the other PC and refresh your image cache not ideal but if you can't get it to fetch the images you want from the server you can at least provide them from your other install.
  2. It doesn't matter that much where you put them as long as where you know where they are so yu can edit the paths under manage emulator beyond that you would need to match your current paths in order for it to work without any changes.
  3. Okay let us know how it goes and will help you out if you run into any issues. I wouldn't have downloaded LB again I would have just copied the whole folder and it should have worked assuming your laptop has the necessary versions of .net installed already but how your doing it should also work.
  4. Okay to be sure you are going ahead with stand alone MAME correct? You don't need to put the ROMs folder in MAME you just have to have the bios in the MAME ROMs folder or in a location that you have specified to MAME games can be run from any directory using the MESS part of MAME. Do you have a MAME complete set already to start with?

  6. Easy solution to that for the disk based games is to move them completely to you LB folder before import then import just the file type you need then all of your files are located in the right place and you can always put your MAME ROMs there and just change the directory. That being said I never change my ROM paths from the ones I had established before I discovered LB so I don't set mine up that way either.
  7. I don't know enough about RL to say if you can just copy installs without reconfiguring it but I have my doubts (which could be unfounded). As for LB being portable it really depends on how you set it up to begin with. If during the import you choose to have the ROMs imported into your LB folder than your install of LB is 100% portable you can move it anywhere and it will work instantly but if you choose to keep the ROMs in their own directory structure that you already had going on then it could be portable as long as the machine you move every thing to is using the same exact drive letter as the one you set up on your original machine So if your Nintendo 64 games are located at D:\Emulators\Nintendo\Nintendo 64 on machine 1 then it has to be located at D:\Emulators\Nintendo\Nintendo 64 on machine 2 also. If things don't match you can also use the find and replace feature inside of Notepad++ to change the paths in the platform specific xml file it will allow you to change all the current paths to the new one in a few key strokes.
  8. nothing wrong with appreciating appreciation
  9. Yeah to use MESS in RA I used to but the bios in a folder named a5200 in my systems folder (I only experimented with this for Atari 5200) and while it worked to launch software list games I couldn't get it to launch the regular roms I had. I also didn't give it the a5200 -cart command so that could be the reason. I agree with Brad use stand alone MAME/MESS. I just went with MAME this way I didn't have to set a new folder path as all the system bios files are already in my ROM set and when you use the commands you can load any ROM you don't even have to tell MAME where they are located.
  10. So is the site slow for everything or just downloads for you and are you out of the US. I downloaded the beta this morning took under a minute.
  11. I know that everyday from 6AM to 7AM EST the site slows to a crawl and then everything is fine again by 7 on my side. Do your servers do all of their backup and maintenance around those times?
  12. Yeah I may be mistaken but I didn't think that LightSpeed was functional since the XML split so that could be the issue.
  13. In the MAME.ini file did you specify your paths. MAME is by default looking for your games to be located in a folder called ROMs in the root directory if you have it in a different folder but you didn't specify the change in the .ini that will be the issue.
  14. -L "cores\mednafen_supergrafx_libretro.dll" -L "cores\mednafen_pce_fast_libretro.dll" the L is a load switch and cores is the folder in your RA root folder the rest is the actual file name of the core and with out the .dll extension it isn't being seen correctly by the program.
  15. LB already utilizes your keyboard for all types of features ctrl+many different letters already are programmed to do many functions in the program they are not remappable as far as I know though they are just what they are so it may be difficult to get them to work with the same keys your ipac is already programmed for.

    Game themes

the sounds are used in navigation the different packs change what the sounds are. As to the part with the videos we had someone that started out making videos of the themes but the project halted because the HS people weren't happy with him using the themes like that.
  17. Some time in the MAME.ini if you don't change the value of the writeconfig to 1 none of your changes will be saved when you close MAME
  18. I believe I recently read that once approved by 3 more moderators than any rejections ie if you have 2 rejections you need 5 approvals then it takes up to 48 hours for changes to be seen.
  19. where are your roms located and do you have that path specified in the MAME.ini file (if they are in the default ROMs file inside of your MAME root directory then you shouldn't need to do this). If you put them in your LB folder and haven't told MAME to look for the games outside of the default location that is why it isn't working.
  20. That is the screen then press the 1 key and the 2 key and it changes some of the settings and starts the game.
  21. Yeah I edited my post when I saw what you were trying to do with the button presses. I don't know if that is possible through MAME you may need to use a script. I've never thought of mapping start and coin to the same button that is actually an interesting idea
