  1. RetroArch is still the suggested emulator for most things by most users and it works in all versions of LB brilliantly for me on multiple PC's. In the YouTube section there are a lot of tutorial videos for systems and most of those even though using older builds of LB are still spot on except maybe a few minor details. There are two videos that are great for noobs to retroarch in particular this one and this one I suggest those and it will explain at least the basic of the UI navigation which can be a little weird due to the buttons that it uses being non-intuitive to most users as in for some odd reason enter doesn't select things x does and backspace doesn't back out of menus z does. These two videos I think should get you going and if you run into any issues holler back at us and someone will give you a hand. Also you will need to find your own bios files for RA when you want to start emulating some systems.
  2. It would be hard to trust that the changes users make would be accurate plus if 4 users changed the same game with conflicting data what would the end results be.
  3. @Eirulan unfortunately no this isn't changing anything in the DB that just shows your games in the cloud.
  4. Yeah that's not a normal occurrence usually changing formats destroys everything. That sounds like a good tool for that scenario.
  5. Before putting LB on a SSD I would recommend you consider what you plan on doing with it. If you are only going to emulate those few systems then it should be fine also if you are getting a 500GB SSD you should be fine if you get 120GB drive you may run in to issues with space if you have a lot of systems with all of available media types. I know my one LB folder is over 100GB. So basically visualize what it is you want to setup and plan accordingly. Having the OS on the SSD is what is the most important part anyway.
  6. You really that far out there? Must be nice the urban sprawl here in Jersey is horrendous and its still its a lovely place minus the inhabitants
  7. Just because you live in Canada don't think the NSA isn't listening to you
  8. @Supremethat is exactly where it is located. Sorry that I didn't consider the fact that your back button isn't working and you can't reach that menu. I more just wanted to let you know the settings you were changing in LB weren't going to have any effect on what you are tying to fix.
  9. Have you checked to see if there are any new drivers for your card or if you just updated your video drivers maybe that is the issue. I'm at a loss and trying to come up with anything that might help.
  10. aggh yeah that looks like everything but the bubbles I've think I've seen Jason credit the logo creator before but it looks like a copy to me down to the tile colors marching the exact squares.
  11. @Tony to cycle through shader presets you have to either save the shader which will make a copy of the preset inside the root shader folder or you can copy and paste the ones you want to use in the same location and then you can cycle through them with your keyboard or your controller if you setup the hot keys for it.
  12. Yeah that doesn't sound right. I have LB around 20k games on a few systems and it isn't close to being unusable have you tried playing with the RAM cache setting under tools<options that usually fixes me up but I only need to use that on my tablets with 1 and 2GB of memory
  13. LB creates them by default if they are empty they aren't taking up disc space so like you said it not a big problem.
  14. Game mode makes a world of difference on Samsung TV's.
  15. BigBox has its own separate controller configurations under options so remapping keys in LB won't have any effect on BigBox
  16. did you configure LB to use that specific core? If not it will be using the default core without the 2010 at the end and probably be why it doesn't work.
  17. It currently only uses 7zip as the tool but it will extract .zip 7zip and. rar files I doubt that Jason will license a second compression program to include in LB but you never know.
  18. Yes you don't have to change the format of the drive and anything stored outside of the pool is just like it is on a regular hard drive it is an amazing product.
  19. Probably you could also look at Stable Bit DrivePool it lets you create a virtual drive that will make both your drives appear to be one. The program creates a single folder on each drive and anything placed in those files will be seen as one drive since you already have LB setup this may not be practical because you would need to move your stuff to the pool folder in order to pool it but once you changed your paths or if your LB is portable it may still work. The program isn't free but I believe there is a 30 day trial if you want to test for free.

Hahaha Investigator @Zombeaver is on the case see I'm sure no one really believed him but if he paid the $50 you graciously except his story and let life keep on keepin on.
  21. Very cool more arcade boards need something like this although I already have my own separate ROMs would have been nice when I started out. Actually it would have been nice when I manually updated my ROMs for Demul to the latest versions the other week.
  22. I could never get MagicEngine to work with disc based games it was one of the main reasons I started using RetroArch.
  23. One of Brad's recent tutorials was about getting SGB working in RA
  24. I have all mechanical drives on my Server but it isn't a NAS I have both a Windows Home Server 2011 and a Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials box going in my basement the 2012R2E is a domain server and I use it to back up all of my PC's or at least I did before Windows 10 now I can't get the server to delete the Windows 8.1 clients and it won't add my new computers because they still have the same names as before. I have to get around to doing a clean install and adding all new clients or just updating to Server 2016 Essentials.
  25. I run my PS1 games from my server for one of my HTPC's that doesn't have a lot of storage space and they play over Gigabit LAN no issues. Now I've also tried this with some weaker hardware over WIFI and its a no go but in this case I"m not sure if the hardware is the issue or the network.
