  1. I think it defaults to the system when you set up the controls. It did for me at least for the systems I do use in Mess.
  2. Before asking for help please read this post: Also here is a quick list of guides and tutorials, feel free to message me or post in that thread if you know of any guides that should be added.
  3. Tested out the games I have using the stand alone Snes9x version 1.54 and for the most part it's fairly good. Not as good as BSnes at the moment but for a first (or close to first) release with support at all it's a good step. Notable issues were with Megaman X and X2 having really horrible static and sound clipping. Donkey Kong Country 2 had no audio at all and Super Turrican had sound sound crackle but not anywhere as bad as MMX and MMX2.
  4. So this is now a thing with Snes9x, it now supports MSU-1 patched roms. You can either get the latest build off EmuCR or update the Retroarch Snes9x core. I used the core with no year in the name of it, didn't try ones with a year. Load up the patched rom file itself for Ancient Stone Tablets and it works perfectly, well at least the first bit works perfectly, will need more testing. Going to try other games.
  5. As far as importing roms is concerned Brad as tutorials covering the vast majority of systems. Since you are talking about an arcade cabinet I will assume you are talking about arcade games and using Mame and Brad has covered that. I have also done a written tutorial on setting up Mame if you want to take a look at it.
  6. Could you be more specific about the problems you are having ? Details help.
  7. Key mapping is going to be setup in the emulator for the most part along with some extras in Launchbox.
  8. Yeah the Nexus server was getting hammered hard when trying to download using NMM. But downloading outside the NMM and importing it worked just fine during that time. Things seem to be settled down a bit now that the initial feeding frenzy is over.
  9. SKSE is coming along with SkyUI and MCM. behippos post on it https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/4979480-skse/page-15#entry44489330
  10. The BSnes-Mercury cores do not require the special chip rom dumps, you have the core option to HLE emulate these chips. You can use these chip dumps if you choose to though. http://wiki.libretro.com/index.php?title=Bsnes-mercury BSnes will give you higher accuracy and the ability to play MSU-1 patched roms.
  11. Everyone should at least have the Unofficial Patch, after that it's just personal preference. I found the base game just too bland and generic to play for longer periods so I need mods to make it more fun. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/266/?
  12. This is obviously a very subjective opinion but my thoughts on it are this (just my personal thoughts). The MSX, ZX Spectrum and Apple aren't really all that compelling to emulate, they are very primitive and difficult to get into playing the games on them. I also never had or played on any of these systems growing up so I have no attachment to them at all. The Amiga however is very much worth emulating and there are some very well done guides on the forums. @Zombeaverdid an amazing video tutorial you should look at. One Japanese computer worth checking out is the X68000, lot's of great games and near arcade perfect ports on it. It was basically the PC that Japanese game developers used to make many of the games we played back in the day. I have done a written tutorial guide on emulating this system using MESS.
  13. Mod Organizer from what I have read isn't really working properly yet, but it is the better mod manager. I was using it to mod vanilla Skyrim, it's much better at managing more complicated mod lists that have a lot of overlap. Also from what I have read, the author of MO is teamed up with the NMM guys now so that may eliminate MO all together. Yeah ELFX was awesome, I used that with ELE for vanilla. Hopefully it gets ported soon but for now I will be using RLO, it has come along really nicely since the vanilla version.
  14. For simplicity I would recommend Vivid Weathers but RLO just looks so much better for my tastes.
  15. Oh I agree LOOT is awesome and should be used, just be sure to double check it. If you look at the RLO page for what it wants as the load it is different than what LOOT puts it at and the mod author. I think this more an issue with the Skyrim SE and the current version of LOOT.
  16. The new version of NMM does have profiles in it already and works. Mod Manager was better than NMM but has not been fully updated for Special Edition and from what I have read the author of Mod Manager is now working with the Nexus guys on NMM. Also in regards to LOOT, for now use it as a guide to help but don't just blindly trust it. While it does a pretty good job it is not 100%. Take some time to read the info for each mod and think about how that mod works with other mods you may be using for some overlap. 2 quick examples of LOOTs current flaws would be water mods are being loaded too high in the load order when they need to be much lower or else you get nasty seams where 2 different kinds of waters meet. Water mods need to be lower than other mods that change world spaces. The other mod as an example is the Realistic Lighting Overhaul mod, this mod comes with several .esp files and LOOT doesn't sort them properly so they need to be adjusted manually.
  17. Oh yeah for sure, the price of the flash cart may be expensive but in the grand scheme of all things NeoGeo it's very reasonable. Thank you emulation, lol.
  18. You did ? Then again you do so much content I can't keep up so I don't even try to anymore, lol.
  19. This is now a thing, still pricey like anything NeoGeo related but way better than actually buying carts. This is for the MVS which is the arcade version of the NeoGeo hardware so you will need either an actual NeoGeo arcade cabinet or a consolized MVS system to use it. So for those of you with the money and desire to play on real hardware the day is here where you can actually own every game. Where to buy ? https://www.neosdstore.com/shop/index.php?id_product=8&controller=product&id_lang=1 Videos showing it off: Review: http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?268514-NEOSD-flash-card&p=4131984&viewfull=1#post4131984
  20. Also keep in mind that many of the old mods do not work in the Special Edition, some do however. A good amount have been ported over and more are coming and unless you are sure that an older mod works in the new version do not install it. Always read the mods description and even the "Posts" section for each mod for what people and the mod author is saying about the mod. DISCLAIMER: Mods can break your game so do so at your own risk.
  21. Most likely not but to be perfectly honest I don't know, using the Steam Workshop to mod Skyrim is not a good way of doing things unless it is just one or two very basic mods. Using a mod manager such as the Nexus one is a much better way of doing things. Also I don't know if the the Unofficial Patch is on the Steam Workshop or not but everyone should have that regardless if they want to install any other mods or not. It fixes a lot of bugs that Bethesda themselves just don't care to. If you are new to Nexus Mod Manager and want to learn how to use it here is a perfect set of youtube video tutorials from Gopher to get you started.
  22. S.T.E.P. was a great guide to getting a fully modded game working well as long as you followed it and paid attention. Until S.T.E.P. gets updated S.E.P.T.I.M.A. is doing the same thing just on a smaller scale for the Special Edition. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2846/?
  23. If you are using Retroarch and the Nestopia core update it to the latest and in the core options with the emulator open you will find this new version of the palette. If you aren't using Retroarch depending on the emulator you are using you can download and the palette file and use it. I know puNES uses it but I don't know what other ones allow this. Here is the website for FriebrandXs palette files and more information on what they are and why they are good. Basically you want it because your NES emulation may not be outputting the correct colours. http://www.firebrandx.com/nespalette.html The download link is the big green "Unsaturated-Final Palette for Emulators"
  24. Weird that some games would work and others didn't. I guess you had a Syscard1 or Syscard2 bios and not a Syscard3.
