  1. You can activate them in almost any emulator if you use rocket launcher. You can also apply a CRT overlay to emulators that don't support shaders with it.
  2. I'm having trouble getting a smooth clean transition with BigBox. I am using Rocketlauncher and my setup there is fine and everything works fine when launched from Hyperspin. My problem is with BigBox. When I select a game, there is a brief pause. The background music stops for a brief moment and so does the game video. Then the game video reloads again, the background music comes back and the game information reloads as well. Only then does the RocketLauncher fade screen come on. I can't figure out why it does this. I've seen videos of people on youtube and their fade screen starts right away. There is no pause and reloading within BigBox. Has anyone experienced anything similar?
  3. During the Christmas break I've started playing some bigger AAA games like The Witcher 3 and CoD WWII and I find that when I exist the game, it goes back to BigBox but BigBox is stuck and I can her the music from the game I just existed still in the background for quite a few seconds. After a while of BigBox being on the screen but being unresponsive, the game's music will stop and the background music from BigBox will kick in. I'll be pressing the back button but BigBox becomes extremely slow and unresponsive to the point where I have to go for a walk and come back so I can exit back to the desktop. This has been only happening with PC games. Seems fine with emulators. I am using rocketlauncher but as far as I can tell, rocketlauncher is working fine. Seems to be an issue with the performance of BigBox.
  4. It's really nice but highly dependent on having really good wallpapers which is not going to happen if you have a massive collection.
  5. Why do we need partial values? I would rather have stars than partial values. How o you determine partial values anyway? What's the difference between a 4.2 and a 4.3 game? Just give it a rating of 4. Stars look so much better than a number.
  6. I thought they got removed in one of the latest updates to Launchox. Last week I had stars instead of a numerical value. Updated Launchox to the latest beta 2 days ago and now I only get a numerical value.
  7. Is this for the blue version of the theme as well? I downloaded it but I only see the green version.
  8. The star rating was displaying the number of stars with actual stars. Now, since the last update it only displays a number. If a game was 4 starts, instead of displaying 4 actual stars, it's only displaying the number 4. How do i fix this? Is there a setting or is this a bug?
  9. Thanks a lot. Will give it a go tonight.
  10. That would be better. I guess I wouldn't mind it so much if it had the above title. It bugs me because there's an option to view the Game Manual already there and now I have this Additional Apps for everything else. Before at least it as consistent. I had Game Manual and I would add Game Guide, Game Trainer, Game Maps and everything looked the same and was grouped together on the left side of the screen. Now things look out of place. Game Manual is still there and for everything else I have this ugly menu item with a pop up box. Just personal preference I guess.
  11. Ahhhh....you have to scroll down past the bottom of the screen. Holly...can't tell you how many times I've been through this menu and never saw that option. What i did was lower the decibes in my background music so it was quieter. Guess I won't have to do that again.
  12. There is but all that does is play the video audio over the background music.
  13. Wondering the same. Also, has anyone found a way to have the background music play at a lower volume? It clashes badly with the platform and game videos.
  14. There is a difference between the AES and MVS versions. The MVS version version is the arcade version and only has arcade difficulty. Also, some games like baseball will get interrupted with a countdown to insert more coins. The AES version is the home console version and it offers different difficulty levels including arcade, some games will have trainers and you don't get the insert coin countdown. The CD version was a cheaper alternative to the AES console. Games do have better music because they are on CD and the system had something like 3 or 4 exclusive games but they are unplayable because they are in Japanese. It's also missing a lot of games released for the AES. The roms for the AES and MVS are the same. You just use a different BIOS in MAME. I have both on my setup. MVS under the Arcade category and AES under Consoles category. I don't bother with the CD version. The games are the same with better sound but take up 10x the size on the hard drive. Not worth it.
  15. While trouble shooting my long startup times, I uninstalled my old copy of Launchbox and downloaded the latest + beta updates. Now, when I create a new system, it sets the default Box-Front and Box-Back folders to Front and Back, meaning that I now have to manually go into every system and set them back to Box-Front and Box-Back.
  16. I found the problem. I deleted my Genres Playlist from the Platform Categories menu along will all my genre playlists and now everything is back to normal. Really weird.
  17. Rebooting the computer? I turn my computer off every night so yes, I've done that. Yeah, it's strange. Not sure what would cause it to take so long to start now. It's a standard 4TB HD that is completely dedicated to my Retro gaming. It's not being used to run any other processes. Guess I'll just have to find a startup video that's 1 min long. I have a few but they all show the Hyperspin logo at the end.
  18. I don't know of any sadly. RL seems complicated because they overloaded the thing with options no one really needs. The pause menu, bezel support and game starting fade transitions are great. I also like the cue card feature where you can display a map or controls right on top of the game as you play with the press of a button. Once you learn how it works, it's really great and you won't go back. Just dedicate some time to learning it.
  19. Not sure what happened but with one of the latest betas, my Big Box now takes forever to start - almost 1 minute. It used to play the startup video and start right after but now I have to wait a good 20 seconds after the video plays before it starts. At first I thought it was waiting for the video to play but I removed the video and without it, it takes about 50 secs just to start up. After it starts everything is fine. Not sure which beta version it was. I noticed it a few weeks ago but didn't give it too much tough. I haven't added any new systems in moths. I added 5 or 6 PC games in the past month but that was it.
  20. My Bigbox now takes forever to start. It used to play the startup video and start right after. Now, the startup video will play and the screen will stay black for another 20 secs before Bigbox loads. I'm assuming this was due to one of the latest updates. I haven't added any new systems in the last few months. . It used to load while the video played but now it seems to just wait for the video to play and then it proceeds to load. Anyone else experiencing something similar?
  21. I used to use the Additional Apps to add game guides, maps, trainers and so on and they would display nicely on the left side of the Games Menu. Unfortunately for some inexplicable reason, in one of the Lunchbox updates that got changed. All I get now is a menu item that says Additional Apps/Version and a pop up menu listing all my added content. Why? I don't like this at all. Is there a way to revert back to the old way of displaying things?
  22. So you are a PC gamer who has a lot of pie's but you can't afford to purchase bigbox? I'm confused because you dont seem to have a problem affording everything else.
